    DODGE ALERT!

Economic growth was more rapid under Bill Clinton than under subsequent Presidents, and growth during Obama's last three years were almost identical to Trump's first three.[/QUOTE]

After Gingrich and Kasich took back the Congress and forced him to sign THEIR legislation including tax rate cuts and welfare reform. And Obama benefitted more and more after the Republicans took back the Congress under him. Presidents aren't kings and Congress not subservient to them. And under the Trump/Republican policies of lower tax rates and cutting regulations that strangled economic growth we saw one of the best economic periods in the history of the country.

Clinton could have refused, especially after 1996.
    He benefitted how?

Ckinton did not decline. He kicked and screamed but took full credit for the economic success and still does to this day.

Obama benefited by the Republicans blocking his self destructive economic policies.

The election is over. Continuing to call people names like "Trumpers" is inconsistent with Biden's message calling for unity.

But it's good to know where you stand towards >70 million of your co-citizens.

His political adviser Dick Morris told him either get on board with THEIR policies or you will not get reelected so he did. You know that triangulation thingy. HIs last four years he was along for the ride although in the midterms he campaigned for Dems in Congress they would repeal the HIGHLY successful Republican welfare reforms. The voters rejected it.

The markets got more and more confidence, the Republicans forced sequester and austerity which cut the deficit in half giving it even more confidence and that stop his and the Dems future tax increase demands and regulatory binge.

What are you disputing? You've refuted nothing I have said.

It’s amazing that this has to be explained over and over again.

I've refuted much of the economic BS you post. No matter, of course, as you continue to post the same nonsense.

The economy was much better at other times in our history.

It's not my fault you chose a false prophet. I've been saying for years we should be doing something about this...

Who said it was? You are responsible for the language you use. Even Biden has discouraged what you are doing.

You said I "chose a false prophet." I said I did did not.

The longer answer is that Biden is obviously suffering from dementia, and that his policies on border control, nation building in the mideast (or at least foreign engagement), and on trade with China leave me cold. And that doesn't even address his softness on urban rioting, aka "fully justified and peaceful demonstrations against racism." Apparently you are a Biden fan.

Or is that a ridiculously oversimplified caricature of your view, as was yours of my "false prophet"?

Try to respond without further insults, if you can.

There are zero signs that Biden is suffering from dementia. It's a talking point.

Not like what we had going under Trump and CERTAINLY better than under Obama and Biden. Trump was not coming in nor did he have a recession his first 3 years when we normally see our greatest improvements, except under Biden and Obama. It's a lot easier to post higher numbers when we are at the bottom and recovering. Yet as we have seen in Covid there have been record numbers being posted and far better than expected. Biden is proposing the same failed policies he did and ran as VP and that recovery was the worst in our modern economic history.

IMO the uncertainty surrounding the trade negotiations damped down the economic growth. Trump and his advisers knew that would happen in the short term but bringing the Chinese Communist Party to the table with guarantees on fair trade and elimination of their $400B theft from the US economy was worth a bit of temporary economic pain.
