Take 12 minutes and watch this to find out what Germany did and what China is doing. They're eating our lunch.

Ah electric vehicles. And where are these electric vehicles going to get their electricity?

Sorry buddy, but that isn't how this work. Hydro projects takes time and you don't want to rush it for safety reason. And you don't have 5,000 experienced engineer per projects and you need more than one dam to fill the need of her 10 year schedule.

The lunar landing wasn't driving the aeronautical engineering enthusiasm, the military and civilian aviation were. WW2, Korea, the cold war, those were the motivation. Scaling up the construction of a single missile was no great feat compared to what the GND is talking about, both in time, money and scale of impact.

Also, your WW2 example is kind of daft. WW2 was an industry conversion of peace time production to war time production. The assembly lines were already there, they were just producing the wrong stuff. But today, you don't have those assembly lines. Most of the heavy industry have been globalized and moved to cheaper countries. So this mean that any big project will result in the USA shoveling money to your direct opponent on the world stage. The USA will be getting broke trying to match the GND goal while China will be getting rich and they won't be shackled by the GND. Once you're broke they'll move in and exploit the ressources for their own need and in their own way.

You mean the actual trends instead of the hysterical AGW dogma? Yep.

Germany just built twelve new coal fired plants, China is pumping out CO2 like there is no tomorrow meanwhile we are on course to stabilize our carbon foot print.

I don't think so. But Climate Change would.

You can stop the alien invasion from Mars, for all I care. So long as you stay out of the way of those who are trying to fix the mess which, through inaction and obstruction, the right has been complicit in creating.

Nice Dodge but no cigar. As usual you completely avoid answering the question and addressing the points being made - with something other than twirling around with hands over hears crying "NO NO NO".

The main point is that Cortez is unfit to lead the charge. Evidence for this was presented - showing that she is vastly not qualified in that she does not understand the subject matter - never mind the primary environmental issues.

So back to the question that you avoided - How does blocking pipelines help the environment ?

I said sixty years, not ninety. But the GND also includes universal healthcare. So there is also a chance she could make it to 120. Why not? My grandmother died at 112 a couple of years ago. So it's not impossible.

You contradict my video without facts or analysis. You just make an assertion without support. Epic fail.

I gave you facts Germany is bringing on line twelve new clean coal power plants. China is talking but doing little else and what little they are doing is being done with stolen US tech. Meanwhile even as the US economy is growing it's carbon foot print is no worse than stable. All those are facts. Who ever did your video doesn't know what they are talking about but that isn't unusual for green weanies, who tend to be long on hyperbole and assumption short on facts.

Oh, wait. They said there was an ice age coming, but apparently they were wrong. How could scientists be wrong about predicting the future climate?

Renewables account for only 500 billion kilowatts. Where is the rest of the electricity to run all these electric cars going to come from?

I can't believe this response. "That isn't how it works" is the most closed minded comment in existence. Of course it isn't! But it's how it will work!

How many engineers at the Ford plant do you think told the Roosevelt administration "Sorry buddy, but that isn't how this works' when they were asked to produce one B-24 bomber per hour? They just sat down and did it!

Not in my experience. I knew absolutely nobody of my generation talking about how "cool" it would be to become a pilot so we could fight in Korea or Viet Nam, or give the cold shoulder to Nikita. I was in elementary school, but I don't remember seeing people too enthusiastic about Viet Nam either among the almost daily protesters that were actually against it. On the other hand, we were all mesmerized at all the possibilities coming from the moon mission, and the innovation and new challenges that were being solved.

First of all... not true. We already have about 90% of the technology to implement most of the requirements of the GND. Alll we need to do is make it more efficient. In the 60s we had to develop most of the technology. Second of all... if we failed to construct that single missile, it would have been embarrassing. And moreally devastating. But loss of life would have been small. Whereas if we fail to stop the escalation of Climate Change, the consequences will be much more dire.

And now it's not even that. It's a conversion of peace time production to more peace time production.

What assembly lines are you talking about that we will be needing?

So your argument is that the USA doesn't know how to build assembly lines? Unbelievable! Furthermore... so what if any assembly lines are in other countries?

I see your arguments become weaker and weaker. You started by denying the fact that we have shown our skills at innovation again and again. Now they have degraded to the point were we even forgot skills we already had. And we are unable to recover them.

    Such nonsense!

Says who? They have their own goals to meet. The Paris Agreement set goals for all nations to be met by 2020. China was one of the first to meet them. They met them 2 years ago. Three years ahead of schedule! Your final argument is the weakest. Because it's just pure ignorance.

The video covered that. It's spin. Watch for details, but we all know you are afraid to watch it.

More renewables. Didn't you read what the GND is? Maybe you only got info from right wing sites.

Have you read the green New deal? It is idiotic.

it should be stomped out anyone who thinks it's a good idea should be ashamed of themselves Because they single-handedly made environmentalism an absolute joke.

So that was your main point So your whole discourse was just one big ad-hominem.

Tell you what. Maybe she is unfit to lead the charge. In the same sense that Winston Churchill was unfit to lead the British in WW2. But lead them he did. And quite successfully, I must add.

She is leading it. Trump isn't. You aren't. The rest of us can help. Or not help. But just don't stand in the way....

Fair enough. So.... let's see the quote from the GND so we all know what the hell you are talking about.

Because anybody with the most basic understanding of Science knows that what scientists "say" is irrelevant. Only thing that matters in Science is what they can prove.

Of course you need a basic understanding of how Science works to know that. Which is obviously outside the realm of Science denialists.

    Provide quote and argument.

Repeating something you just heard from Hannity is... not useful to the debate, and ... does not make you look good.

It's not easy to speak the truth to you while, at the same time, keeping the post from angering the mods.
