Roe V Wade was a privacy decision, not an abortion decision......

You're playing a game of semantics to help you think you won the debate. That would be incorrect. The Amendment does give rights. It gives the right to privacy, as has been upheld in many SCOTUS decisions....

Our dependence on fossil fuels has had to come down for years. We can continue using the excuse of drilling up in Alaska, saying we have plenty of oil up there, whine that fracking works, or we can begin putting our resources into something worthwhile. I envision not a single vehicle on the 405 running off of fossil fuels. I picture Rural Americans much like the guys from Duck Dynasty, a bunch of Willie Robertson's running around. Rural Americans are a threat to democracy because their culture tends to not intertwine with what America needs to move forward, not backwards. Continuing to have reliance on fossil fuels? That's going backwards, not forwards.

No I did. 2016 is when we learned they are a threat to our democracy.

Thanks for the quote of Mussolini :). I professed my ideology of Fascist-Technocracy, I don't hide from my ideal of a centralized government(and State). Fascism can be sufficiently to be said to be a synergy between the two sides. hence "a unit inclusive of all values."
The Third Position disdains the division that existed back then, and exists today.

I add Technocratic principles to give it a Humanist element, that it lacked in the 19th-20th centuries.

I can get a job anywhere in the country, and California has the nicest weather by far. So why don't I move there? Because there are far too many progressives, and, despite their degrees in Lesbian Basket Weaving, progressives are the dumbest ****ing people on the face of the earth. And I mean that sincerely. These people have zero life skills. None. Just sit around all day in Starbucks yacking about how they're going to change the world. Meanwhile, these losers can't even cook or do laundry.

The hell of it is, there are people who never read it who nevertheless understand it better than you do.

As if you'd have it otherwise. ;-)

The reason we're here is because we no longer agree on what's good for the welfare and progress of our nation. The left wants to turn America into Venezuela, the right wants to turn America back into the 1950s or 1980s. These are fundamentally incompatible goals, and for one side to "compromise" means abandoning those goals.

This is truly idiotic. What do you suggest they use for corn, horse-drawn plows? Without those tractors, you would have no food. So far, not a single "green energy" project has produced more energy than it cost to produce, ethanol and biodiesel included. And not one of them would have gotten off the ground without massive taxpayer funding. What a waste of time, money, and, in the case of wind farms, birds. And you already have guns in the streets of metro areas, the question is, who do you want to have the ability to shoot back, average citizens or only cops? You can't get rid of guns, look at Brazil, where they have gun control and gun crime like that of Detroit, only nationwide.

Progressive: One more step towards hell on earth. See the Soviet Union, Red China, Cuba, Vietnam, North Korea, Cambodia, and now Venezuela.

I'm a white law-school educated voter and a conservative poster here. Not as much difference as you might think. Not all conservatives are rural yokels who drink beer and wave Confederate flags.

    A) No it wasn't, it was based on a previously unknown right to "privacy" that appears nowhere in the Constitution, and was created out of whole cloth.
    B) The justices called on the 4th, 5th, 9th, & 10th Amendments to "justify" their newly discovered right and to seize unto themselves the right to declare three-fourths of the states' laws on abortion unconstitutional, but since nothing in the Constitution grants any such right, the whole 100 page document is an exercise in legal chicanery.
    C) Constitutional rights only cover what is written in the Constitution, they don't cover imaginary rights created out of thin air by the Supreme Court. Liberals like to talk about Constitutional rights, but they dismiss actual rights like the 1st & 2nd Amendments and embrace Supreme Court-created rights as if they were constitutionally mandated, which they aren't, or else the Supreme Court wouldn't have needed to invent them.

And yet, somehow, they make far better decisions than all those college-educated city-dwellers. I wonder how that happens. Maybe because their "leave me alone to fend for myself" attitude is the same one that made America strong, rich, and free.

You know less than nothing about energy, rural Americans, or what "moving forward" means. The only possible thing that could replace fossil fuels would be nuclear energy. Nothing else generates more power than it requires except hydroelectric dams, and leftists don't want any more of those built, either.

So its all about whether you like the rights or not as to what appears in the constitution....OK.....You can make the decisions out to be what you want, and be as argumentative as you see fit. The core of the decision was based on the 4th, and the right to a woman’s body being private.

FTR, the Constitution is an interpretive document, never meant to spell out the literal in every case.

"State criminal abortion laws, like those involved here, that except from criminality only a life-saving procedure on the mother's behalf without regard to the stage of her pregnancy and other interests involved violate the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment, which protects against state action the right to privacy, including a woman's qualified right to terminate her pregnancy."

Until we come to decision on the very definition of life, the 4th amendment is irrelevant regarding this issue. Privacy doesn't usurp life (ie, late term abortions).

It's good to go to the source for an understanding of fascism as the socialist left tries to identify it with right wing politics.
The world's "understanding" of that three legged stool that emerged from Europe in the early twentieth century (communism, socialism and fascism) is wrong and the continuing effort to use disinformation to keep it that way is noted.
