But they have ocean ports. They have their bases that may be loyal to the state and they have industry. Without the federal overhead BS it may be doable.

And I guarantee you, those bases are going to turn traitor, not without violent resistance by large portions of the soldiers stationed there.

 

Guard stations are answerable to the Governor. So we may see some leave and some stay. The fact is a portion of the US military was paid for by Texas.

Those bases would be ghost towns within a week and lets see how self sufficient they are when a hurricane hits. It's a moot point anyway considering the majority of the residents would leave because they won't want to give up their US citizenship.

but Oklahoma will also secede with texas giving it more trading zones to the upper western states area, since there very close together with Oklahoma in the past and shared borders with its panhandle.

Texas was crying for money to buy gas for their fire trucks for some wildfires, and that was AFTER Obama had sent them MILLIONS in FEMA and government assistance funds for the wildfires.

Like I already said, most TXNG armories are located on US military bases. For instance, the largest formation in the TXNG, the 36th ID, has almost all of it's tanks, apc's, artillery, etc on Ft Hood. Good (*)(*)(*)(*)ing luck trying to get national guard guys onto that base to get their gear when 1st Cav and 3 ACR are ordered to not let them.

Texas loses all right to any federal property, whether their taxes contributed or not, the instance they secede.
