There is no scientific proof that animals are homosexual, and I don't expect animals to be "monogamous."

Birth control is supposed to prevent pregnancy not end pregnancy.

Thanks to SCOTUS, it's legal to murder your unborn child....for any reason. I don't care if women who kill their unborn children feel disparaged or if you think it's mean spirited to call it what it is. Many women who abort, will also have another abortion. Double or triple murderers.

Scientific facts prove your allegation to be fallacious.

    More semantic quibbling?

Please provide the official definition of "birth control" that supports your allegation.

Contraceptives are meant to prevent pregnancy and when they fail, or aren't used, abortion ends the pregnancy.

Do you feel the same for the people killed in war and as the result of self-defence, because in the end abortion is a form of self-defence ... even more so if the person at conception ideology becomes law.

Defenceless ... really, I suggest you research how a foetus stops the females immune system from attacking it.

Such a contradiction of terms, murder cannot be legal, your ignorance of that fact doesn't change the reality.

Change your view from republican to liberal, "if I don't need a gun, then no one needs a gun" and let's talk about their reasonable restrictions to limit gun violence....But how dare you require a woman considering an abortion be required by law to hear the heartbeat...That's just unreasonable.

Pro-Choice has to with abortion ONLY not off topic gun control.....

And, yes, it IS unreasonable to FORCE anyone to have to know the details of their LEGAL medical procedure...

You seem to be another one who thinks women are so stupid they don't know what "pregnant " means....

Generalization by you. I fully support the conservative idea that a person has control over who, what, where and when another person uses their body without their consent, the position of the pro-lifers is far more liberal than mine, conservatives are the ones who want more government control over the individual, not liberals, as to gun ownership I defer to the constitution and decisions by SCOTUS on that, shame conservatives cannot do the same as far as abortion is concerned.

Please explain how as a conservative you can advocate forcing a person to bend to the will of the state.

You obviously did not read the post that I responded to I guess Pro Choice also has something to do with being poor as fox hastings alluded to. And I am against abortion as a form of birth control...As you say, women know what being pregnant means...But you cannot tell me that 500k + abortions per year in the US are in defense of a womans life due to medical reasons. And just so that you know that is 12 - 13 times the number of deaths by firearms.

Roe v. Wade, 410 U.S. 113 (1973), is a landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court on the issue of abortion. It was decided simultaneously with a companion case, Doe v. Bolton. The Court ruled 7–2 that a right to privacy under the Due Process Clause of the 14th Amendment extended to a woman's decision to have an abortion, but that this right must be balanced against the state's two legitimate interests in regulating abortions: protecting women's health and protecting the potentiality of human life.[1] Arguing that these state interests became stronger over the course of a pregnancy, the Court resolved this balancing test by tying state regulation of abortion to the third trimester of pregnancy.

Later, in Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania v. Casey (1992), the Court rejected Roe 's trimester framework while affirming its central holding that a woman has a right to abortion until fetal viability.[2] The Roe decision defined "viable" as "potentially able to live outside the mother's womb, albeit with artificial aid."[3] Justices in Casey

So you see the right to an abortion is not absolute as some seem to believe. I also believe that the father needs to be involved in this decision or proof of noninvolvement. In the case of minors, both sets of parents need to be involved. Unless you are going to believe in immaculate conception, she didn't get pregnant by herself. Or are you going to imply that these women have had so many partners that they have no idea who the father might be?

You have no need to post Roe or Casey, I probably understand them better than most, the right of the individual to bear arms was also not absolute until SCOTUS judged it to be so in 2008 ( DOC vs Heller ) so just like abortion individual gun ownership was decided as a constitutional right by the relevant Supreme court's, prior to those decisions both rights were not absolute.

Personally I think SCOTUS got it wrong as far as Roe is concerned, they should have deemed the issue a medical one and nothing to do with law or the constitution ... just as Canada did. There should be no restriction on abortion at anytime, for any reason.

Apart from that nothing you have posted actually answers the question., which was

I don't advocate forcing a person to bend to the will of the state, I think the state is far too large. I think education should be locally run as long as they conform to the basic teachings of reading, writing, arithmetic, history, government. Schools should not be paid for via real estate taxes, people that have kids should pay tuition for those kids, flat rate for public schools and more for private. If I choose to pull my kids from public education and send them to an alternative education system, I should not have to pay real estate taxes to send another persons kids to school. Also, single people without kids and the elderly shouldn't have to pay for another persons kids. I don't want the government to tell me that because my address is here, my kids have to go to this school, and can't go to this one. And I truly believe that the worst thing they ever did is take punishment out of the school systems. If I sign a paper that says my kid can be spanked by a teacher, that's my business. Kids nowadays know they don't have to respect the teacher, they don't respect authority period, and they don't have to work hard to make it to the next grade because the apathetic teachers, just don't want to deal with them another year. And yes the permissive liberal way of teaching and offering minors condoms makes it seem that sex is OK and permissible by adults, and leads to an inordinate rate of teenage pregnancies.

as far as I'm concerned I am an independent with far more leanings toward libertarian than republican.

Duh, I am FoxHastings , are you that confused?

Pro-Choice has nothing to do with being poor....why would you mention that? I NEVER DID... women, rich or poor should have the right to choose...

You're against abortion as a form of birth control...so don't have one.

You: """But you cannot tell me that 500k + abortions per year in the US are in defense of a womans life due to medical reasons""

No, I cannot and will not since there is no reason to and I never did.....who ARE you posting about???

And the number of abortions has nothing at al to do with the number of firearm deaths ...WHERE are you getting this irrelevant crap? You want to argue about guns GO TO THE GUN FORUM.

Ill just address the point that has, at least, something to do with topic. Do you actually know what comprehensive sex education comprises of, because from your comment it would appear not, one of the things advocated in CSE is abstinence, another is family and religious values.

As far as teen pregnancies are concerned 6 of the top 10 states with the highest teenage pregnancy rates are states with predominantly abstinence only sex education, and I have the figures and state sex education laws to prove that, where as a study showed that when women, including teens, are offered, free of charge, any contraceptive type they want coupled with comprehensive sex education the unintended pregnancy rate dropped by over 60% and the abortion rate dropped by a similar amount, again I have the study findings if you want to see them. As far as offering condoms goes I would rather my child did not have sex at a young age but if they are going to I would rather they protect each other from not only pregnancy but from STD's as well, th a n risk it .... which they will do. Abstinence only sex education is and has been a failure, and I would be adverse to continuing to fund a failed ideology.

Lastly if you support using the law to force a woman to remain pregnant you are by definition making her bend to the will of the state.

You "Well, ya...anyone where Repub/Conservatives take part....they always view everything from their myopic "me/my" view of life...the abortion issue is no different...( if THEY don't need an abortion then nobody needs an abortion) ( if they're not poor than nobody needs to be poor)"
I guess you cannot even remember what you posted about Repub/Conservatives, hint look at the last part of your quote m****. I was simply stating the hypocrisy of advocating common sense gun laws and fighting against common sense education and informing laws and stautes for abortion. Like I said, hypocrisy in action, thus why I compared the number of gun deaths to the number abortions. And if it is truly "for the children", well I'm sure this will degrade into when a child becomes a child.

I didn't advocate any type of sex education, that is not for the schools to teach, that is a parents job. Secondly, I advocated school choice, not school districts. And unfortunately, we have to abide by laws if we are law-abiding citizens. As for forcing a woman to remain pregnant, no, but I think most women should be smart enough to buy some condoms so that she doesn't become pregnant...It's the victim mentality that is pervasive with the younger generation that nothing is their fault. It's time personal responsibility is taught in school.
