And yes you would have to defend yourself from those around you who mean you harm.

They also forbid the killing of women, children and livestock.. they forbid the destruction of crops, trees and water sources.

 

Making war on those who dwell around you is not defensive in any way, in or out of any "context". I live in an apartment complex with 300 apartments. If I make war on all of them (dwelling around me), I am fighting an aggressive war, not a defensive one.

Dude, nobody is falling for spin about the Koran. We all know what it is. You're 1400 years late in cleaning the book up, so get on with it, and quit spinning it.

And before you try your usual "Out of context" talking point, sura 9:123 is very short. I stated the entire sura. As for suras 9:122 and 9:124 they have absolutely nothing to do with 9:123, which is characteristic of the Koran. It's suras are highly fragmented, whereby consecutive ones are unrelated to each other.

I have found that converts are more zealous about Islam and more threatening than the moderates who tried to escape the ideology in the Middle East. The homegrown Muslims are nonpussed, some seriously confused, some have given in, excuse me submitted.

The Wahhab sect from Saudia Arabia prey on the confused, particulalry in jails. They have converted many black Americans.

Islam is a major problem, just ask any moderate Muslim who does not fear being ostrasized or removed from earth.

There are one or two on this thread that perhaps have converted. Is that so?

Now I usualy defend other faiths becuase I do not believe that Islam or any other major religion is evil. But your statement is not supported by the text. I just read all of At-tawba and it does not specify defensive anywhere in the text. Actually it seems rather disjointed, the passages jump around from topic to topic with very little ryme or reason. So could you show me where in At-tawba that I can find where is specificly says in defense and how it relates to that passage in particuler?

I missed the link, but now I have read it. Ok makes sense in a way but the text is not very clear at all. But if that is the way it is tought to the believers of Islam then I see no problem with it. (of course my oppinion is SOOOO important to the believers of your faith)
