I don't know what happened. I didn't read your link. It sounds like a crime was committed by the police.

But, what's your point here??

 

Uh, he was DYING!

And, YOU think he should not have gotten medical attention???

The people who condone this episode are beneath contempt.

 

They didn’t do their duty and even check.

He absolutely WAS beaten to death. The only question about that is whether proper medical attention could have saved his life.

If I shoot someone and they don't die until after reaching the hospital, does that mean I didn't cause his death???

 

Nichols was on his feet, breathing and didn't have arterial bleeding. What was to check?

Paramedics aren't surgeons, ya know?

They sustain life between the scene and the ER and that's what those paramedics did.

They can start IVs, perform CPR, use a defibrillator, push a few drugs and that's it.

Paramedics can do trachs and that depends on the policy of their medical director, who is an MD. That's all the surgery they can do. EMTs can't even do that and can't push drugs. You keep referring to them as EMTs. If all they were was EMTs, then their certs didn't allow them to go as far as a paramedic.

 

"Beaten TO death" means he was beaten until he died. That isn't what happened.

Someone who is "shot to death" was shot and died on the scene.

Someone who was shot and died three days later "died from gunshot wounds". See the difference?

Saying he was beaten to death is very intellectually dishonest.

 

The people in Memphis who are rushing to judgement without all the facts just to appease the race hustlers are pieces of ****.

 

I read it and didn't want to watch any videos of it.
All that went through my mind( pertaining to the cops} was that he was a double amputee trying to flee them and he was shot numerous times due to cops fear of him throwing a butcher cleaver at them.
Just thought of possible alternatives by the cops coming on the heels of the brutal death of Tyre Nichols.

 

The dude was wielding a 12 inch butcher knife. What were the cops supposed to do? Go hand-to-hand with him and risk getting stabbed?

 

This is just total BS. Serious and immediate attention would have resulted in far faster transport.

And, you have no idea what they could possibly have done. They can drill burr holes to relieve cranial pressure, they have all sorts of other capability.

Making your ridiculous assumptions about immediate cause of death is just plain ignorance.

The police and fire personnel at the site didn't give a crap. They beat him to death and let him lie there.

Police can't succeed when the population they are policing can't trust and have faith in them.

 

And, that does NOT matter.

Being able to stand for a period after major trauma is NOT an indication of ability to survive.

His brain could have been swelling.

He could have been bleeding internally.

The issue for America is that policing can not be successful when the police are perceived as a threat, when they can not be trusted, when people can not have faith in them.

He was beat to his head with a baton and died from excessive bleeding.
He was also punched in the head.
I didn't watch any video but saw a photo of him in the hospital bed with a swollen face and blood surrounding his neck hooked to a breathing tube.
When all these bastards land in their cells this heart wrenching photo of Tyre should be greeting them.

 

That isn't what the fire chief said:

"Fire Chief Gina Sweat said in a statement that the department received a call from police to respond to a report of a person who had been pepper-sprayed, and the workers arrived as Nichols was handcuffed and leaning up against a squad car."
