How we've kept it out of the majority of our rural areas and towns, was by being very clear about the obligation to avoid travelling for any reason but a dire emergency. Travel meaning further than your local supermarket. We can't even travel to our own second homes, even if they're in the same city. Rural areas and towns are simply no-go areas for anyone but locals. Not many are trying to skirt these obligations, and those who have are fined AND made an example of by having their selfishness publicised across media.

The question is ... how did it get into the region in the first place, if social isolation has been happening for 6 weeks? We have many similar rural towns in this country, where people come in constantly for business/shopping/healthcare etc from surrounding agricultural areas - but they just aren't travelling outside the area frequently enough to be at risk of bringing it back. And if it's not a tourist destination then no one is coming in either. These towns are basically quarantined by their own location and purpose.

Regardless of type of government, the Chinese people of course have every right to be as prosperous as the American people. And when they achieve that, China's GDP will be 4 times as large as US GDP.

They plan to be world leaders in AI by 2025, and may well achieve it, because their state-financed system is superior to the private bankster-financed US model as far as intelligent resource management and development is concerned, compared with the largely 'invisible hand' junk consumer-driven model of the West.

You are presented with multiple relevant experts discussing deaths as a lagging indicator of infections. You are presented with dictionary definitions of lagging indicator.

And yet, you still hold yourself out as the one true expert.

As I already said, if you have a point that you think I need to consider - tell me. Do not ask me to just search through an entire transcript simply to try and discern the point you have yet to make.

As to knowing about the 42, I learned that from fact checkers who took trump's ass to task for pretending that the other ~30 did not exist.

You make my point. You have no interest in the truth. You let the “fact checkers” do your thinking for you.

You are lauding (correctly) the Oz government's covid-19 economic rescue package. That is "government assistance".
(Good for you if you are financially independent, but the topic is not about you).

I'm pleased that it's in place, yes. It gives all citizens the confidence to do the right thing and self-isolate for as long as necessary. It's a war strategy, and a bloody good one.

Kindly substantiate that there are no other rural towns with populations of homeless people.

    BY THE MILLIONS ...

Look it is a great mistake to look at death-counts and jump to any conclusion on a national basis.

The country death-rate is more meaningful if comparing deaths per population, which not that many are putting-up on their internet pages regarding Covid-19.

    For instance, as shown here: Covid Deaths per Million (by country);

Hint: Note "Select all countries option". First un-select all countries, then re-select the country/countries that interest you most.

That's the OMB mob mentality. Let the fact checkers do your thinking for you. Don't let the truth ruin the narrative.

The IHME model predicted 60,300 deaths by 8/4/20.

This is why they invented PPE and masks so that they prevent those in the beds from being infected by those attending to them.

ALL nursing homes should be using them?

But since there was zero LEADERSHIP to ensure that masks and PPE's were available and in use back in February those people are now DYING in droves.

    WHO? WHO? WHO?

Uncle Sam was wasting billions of dollars a day (on the DoD) and now, when invaded by a the latest Killer Agent this century, that entity is impotent!

Had that money been spent on "Local Options" (meaning in each state), the people in those states would be far, far better off. For instance, in a National Healthcare System that knows how to plunge into a Services Option when a major epidemic strike occurs. (Because now we know that can happen.)

MY POINT: The present cockamamie electoral system (namely the Electoral College) once again showed how screwed-up is the selection of the presidency at present. Let this be a lesson to all of us.
Donald Dork is incompetent to the task ... !

How much proof does a nation need? Who was saying on TV in January and early February that the dying that began by the hundreds in Europe was "nothing to fret about"?

    Who? Who? Who?

When what pretends to be the leadership deliberately and nefariously spreads disinformation about a silent and deadly killer that uses the duped to infect the rest of the population how is that the fault of anyone other than the leadership?

This is the same fallacy as expecting the working mother being paid minimum wage to successfully manage her 401k retirement plan.

The JOB of leadership is to INFORM and provide DIRECTION for those who ENTRUSTED them with that responsibility. When you hire a manager and give them designated RESPONSIBILITIES they are expected to carry out those responsibilities. Instead the exact opposite occurred with the manager bankrupting the organization in order to line his own pockets.

Blaming the victims in this instance is disingenuous. Very few people had the knowledge of how this virus infects people and how deadly it has turned out to be in reality. The data being tracked in this thread demonstrates which nations had effective leadership and which have not.

What has any of that which occurred two months after Wuhan shut down got to do with China! But thanks for high lighting the late response by Trump proving your claim about China was wrong
