    And, oh yeah. And trump never said it was going to be a concrete wall ... it can be steel slats... because obviously (now) the border patrol wants to be able to see through the “wall”. And yeah, we can even call it a fence, or a barrier. ... just as long as the funding calls it a wall

    Democrats literally believe that Mexico was going to hand trump a loto looking check for the wall like Saddam Hussein used to give to the families of suicide bombers that attacked israel.

    Those of that was chanting "Mexico" as he was asking who is going to pay for it were Trump's uneducated base he so loved. Take it up with them.

    No, we simply took him at his word at it considering that it was the centerpoint of his campaign.

    Well I guess if you don't specify a check in the "one-time payment", then you really don't have to live up the the promise of a "one-time payment" of $5 to $10 billion ever being made

    I guess that was just fairy tail

    It just ocurred to me the reason why this is so hilarious.... trump is arguing that if he says something that seems REALLY STUPID , he could not have actually meant what he said.... cause THAT would be really stupid.... so therefore trump REALLY meant something else

    In this case, trump sure sounded like he meant mexico wax gonna write a chack for the wall. And trump kept acting like that was what he meant... but now trump reminds us that it would be stupid to think he meant what he said (over and over and over and over again).... so actually we were supposec to know that trump did not mean what he said because it was too stupid

    Is this what the claim has come to ?

    - Not that President/candidate Trump said that Mexico (rather than the US taxpayer) would pay for the wall
    - Not that President/candidate Trump said that Mexico would make a substantial payment in advance for the wall
    - But that President/candidate Trump said that Mexico would literally cut a cheque to pay for the wall

    If so then I'm willing to concede that President/candidate Trump probably never said that Mexico would cut a cheque* - but there's a lot of evidence for the first two and in any case, which country literally cuts multi-billion dollar cheques these days (as opposed to entering into a binding agreement and then making any payments electronically) ?

    * - though I wouldn't have put it past him...

    I am proud to be German, normally, because even we have started 2 world wars ... the US is since then the far worst country oin comparison. The place of democracy and legal state is the USA since a long time not anymore!
    And WW-1 was not started by us alone ... French, Brits and Russians, as well Austro-Hungarian and Serbs are same way guilty. The point is that we have lost WW-1 and so we were stamped in Versaille to be alone guilty and this is one of the biggest impudent issues in history!

    About WW-2 ... my ancestors - Germans - fought against Nazis and some were also in concentration camps too and 3 of them died in Bergen-Belsen. So what is ypur point towards me again?
