Russia has a small number of Oil Platforms near land in the arctic but because of their construction their drill casings which become the way the oil is pumped out of them often break or bend due to sea ice.

This problem was on a list of RUSSIAN NEEDS back 13 years ago just before Putin killed the Russian/American Siberian Infrastucture and Energy Development Program.

Now....there is less Oil coming out of Western Siberia than there was 13 years ago.

Now...WHY...do you think Putin cancelled the program?

I will tell you why....because with the U.S. and Canada involved Putin could not steal profits.

And that is what this whole problem is about.

Russia, the United States and Canada should be PARTNERS!!!

We are 3 of the 4 largest Nations on Earth and we have the most resources on Earth.

Russia does have to many problems to be so stupid as to actually get into a shooting WAR with the United States....which Russia would LOSE....BADLY...and very quickly.

I think he longs for the old days of Communism...which is kind of funny because that's what help BANKRUPT RUSSIA in the first place.

Maybe if the Soviet's did not build a WALL around West Berlin and then cut off the ground supply which led to the BERLIN AIRLIFT....where the United States had to fly in supplies into West Berlin....the World would not be so suspicious of Russia.

All the Russian rocket, missile defense and other military components that will installed in Cuba, Nicaragua, Argentina, in the Arctic. As well as on submarines and other means of delivery - are not aimed against the United States.

Similarly, our American friends are told Russian - all US military bases, who is They are around Russia - are not directed against Russia.
