US Newspeak: "The Venezuelan People"

In US Newspeak, "democracy" is a political system run by the business classes. "The Venezuelan people" are whoever supports this form of "democracy":

 

This propaganda effort against Venezuela is just like the many propaganda efforts against Iraq, Iran, Syria, Libya and so many other Central and South American countries, most blatant.

That so many Americans accept it without question is testimony to the skills of the propagandists and the credulity of the American people. When everything they believe is false it will be judged successful. We're there.

 

Its not that they all accept it. A lot of people know something is wrong but they don't have the time or the energy to find out exactly what it is. Not until the policy directly effects them like the Vietnam war did. Then all of a sudden you had a very well informed society. 70% of the population are overworked and living paycheck to paycheck. That's their primary concern.

 

Well, you can't rely on the voice of a people living under a despotism. They are made to say that. Like the death to America protests in Iran.

 

Yes it always becomes worrisome when there's a military draft. I don't want that. But I think I could support a war in Venezuela with the all volunteer army.

 

I don't support the fake democracy where U.S. businesses control Venezuela's Oil Supply.

 

If they intervene militarily are they going to poison the jungle Vietnam style... open it up so they can bomb everything underneath

 

You would have to be willing to die for the cause and not just watch other people do it to satisfy your pathological desire to rid the world of socialism.

 

Socialism will never die.. because it represents hope for those who have none. This anti socialism push comes from the top... the wealthy and they are by far the minority

 

Venezuelans are literally starving. The average Venezuelan has lost 30 pounds in the last couple years.

Three million Venezuelans have fled the country.

The richest country in Latin America is now at the bottom. Even Haiti doesn't have misery like this.

But you get the government you deserve. It's their own fault.

 

The ones who support socialism the most are privileged, spoiled know nothing college age useful idiots and those who stand to gain power from it. Why would someone as rich as Bernie push for it? The working middle class is mostly against it especially with any income distribution the middle class always get hit hardest.

 

Does your analysis include the effects of sanctions against the Venezuelan people, or do you ignore that factor?

 

Sanctions are a cost of doing business if you fight Western democracies.

That sort of thinking works against rational analysis. In fact, the US has been applying sanctions against Venezuela for quite a few years, and are a very large factor in the present state of dysfunction in the country.
