It would seem the OP is specifically for the purpose of ignoring the evils that the religious do and only noting the evils of those who aren't religious.

    I'll play along any way.

Our journey begins with whether or not religion or atheism do anything for the world to begin with. Each offers something to an individual. That might just be whether or not they believe a god exists, or what meaning life may have for them, or what direction their efforts should take them. No two atheists or believers may feel the same way about either side of that proposal. So, to one group here, neither does good or ill in the world; it is solely what an individual does and their belief about god(s) may merely help shape those perceptions. I'm part of that group.

The other group assigns causation for a person's actions as being dictated by whether or not a belief in god(s) is/are present, and this is barring the ones that insist it's only their particular group that does good, which in my experience represents the actual majority; as evidenced by the OP and their responses in this thread.

The idea that the entirety of your group does, by a majority, mainly only good, and the other groups that you aren't a part of, by a majority, do mainly only bad, is ludicrous, and I know you didn't intend for it to sound that way, but that's exactly how it sounds.

That being said, here's the answer you supposedly wanted.

Every atheist in a foxhole who believes they're defending our freedoms is a positive for our nation, if not the world.

The atheist community on YouTube that holds their yearly drive to support Doctors without Borders, is indeed, something good for the world.

Every atheist that works as a police officer, or a fireman, or a medic, or a nurse, or a 911 operator does good in the world.

Every atheist that donates time, money, sweat or blood to charity does good in the world.

Atheists that improve our understanding and conditions of living, do good in the world.

It's not that believers don't do any good as this other person might have said or implied, it's that they do bad too, and they're not exclusive on either side of it.
Consider also, that the non-believers do it without a promise of eternal reward or punishment. I'll leave it to you as to whether it merits credit or not. I know it does to me.

Finally, on a personal note, George Carlin and Christopher Hitchens did far more good for my life than any grand assortment of a thousand Creflo Dollars or Jimmy Swaggarts or Pat Robertsons or Duck Dynasty twits ever could.

I hope you consider your question answered.

    Have a most blessed day.

And everyone ignores the body count when it comes to the Noah flood.
A war God waged with the world.

I don't ignore it. But then again, it is a fictional story.

And anti-atheists pad those numbers by counting those who have died from disease and famine under Communist regimes. If we do the same with the Christian conquest of the Americas, Christians start catching up pretty quickly. Add to that the rest of the victims of Christian colonialism, and things add up even more quickly.

And, of course, this all depends on equating atheism with revolutionary Marxism, which would be as intellectually dishonest as holding all theists responsible for the victims of Islamic terrorism.

Your historical ignorance, combined with your rank intellectual dishonesty, make for a heady brew.

Not only to you fail to understand the body count of Western colonialism, but you try and lay the deaths from Pol Pot and the rest of them at the feet of atheism, completely disregarding the religion of the state and the various cults of personality. No one was killed in the name of atheism, poor thing, and that's a fact you just can't get out from under.

Here's something you didn't know about the communist take over of Indochina, especially Cambodia and Laos. Many dead Khmer Rouge and Pathet Lao combatants were found with an effigy of Buddha in their mouths. They'd wear the effigy on a piece of string around their necks and place it in their mouths as they went into battle hoping Buddha would protect. Khmer Rouge and Pathet Lao didn't shun religion entirely, especially the Pathet Lao.

Buddhism was never banned after the communist take over in Laos, in fact it was encouraged monks continue serving their communities.

Yes, and the religious believers murdered as well. No reasonable person would ascribe their murderous actions to a belief in God. By the same token, the atheism of Stalin, et al, was not the source of their murderous behavior.

Why don't you just be honest about all this. You want to make the case that atheists cannot be moral. Everybody understands what you are trying to do.

Oh? So the devil made him do it?

Yeh kinda like a banana that is just out of reach in the atheist philosophy.

Hitler was a Catholic growing up then a pagan occultist, Atheist, no. Stalin went to seminary would would suggest a Catholic/Russian Orthodox upbringing. Both these men were raised Catholic/Russian Orthodox Christian, and the former had the full support of the Catholic church. So from what we know of these men, Catholicism and Catholic upbringing had more to do with their actions than Atheism did.

even if they were killed for being religious, it was simply to replace that religion with the state preferred deity or personality. which is all the workings of the religious, not the atheist.

I disagree. I regard the 20thC despots as highly religious. They simply deified themselves. They were only able to do this because they were governing highly religious populaces, who were accustomed to fearing authority (as all religious people must). Had they been governing people emancipated from authority veneration ... say for example the modern atheists of Europe, they'd have lasted a day - if that.

Yes, I have observed the atheist debate (both here and elsewhere) for many years. I can't remember a single occasion of an atheist arguing against the god as reality. Seriously, I've never seen it happen. I believe you refuse to accept that we're addressing theist belief, because to do so means letting go of the fantasy that even non-believers take your god seriously.
