Genetics likely plays a role, as it does in everything we do. Genetics determine a lot of things, not just our physical features but our mental features as well. However, anybody who says that it's only genetics is being dishonest. That's where poverty and early childhood environment comes into play.

African populations statistically prioritize self over society (look at Africa in the absence of European influence- chaos). Europeans statistically prioritize society over self (observe the feats of engineering that enable life in the absence of struggle for centuries into the future). The problem occurs when all are considered equal. Although speedingtime is probably correct from a grand perspective, I still fail to understand how poverty leads to rape or murder. Petty theft for bread, OK. Murder, that goes a lot deeper into a lack of morality, which I have always stated is based upon fear. Without a father figure, what is there to fear, your mom?

 

Poverty leading to lack of brain stimulation early on in life can effect the way someone's brain will work for the rest of their lives, sometimes in a big way. But, I'm sure if you look deep enough there are probably a lot of evolutionary explanations for differences between races. That field has hardly managed to get off the field however due to accusations of racism by others in academia.

 

It is a dangerous subject to traverse politically. James Watson was ridiculed as a senile old man and racist for his opinions late in life. In reality, he was probably releasing vital information to avoid the collapse of a complex society. Perhaps in another dimension, things will end peacefully.

Slavery was a few centuries ago. Discrimination and segregation was widespread in the United States until just a few decades ago.

Are you serious? The U.N. is an international political body and arguably one of the most powerful institutions in the world. The NAACP can only combat discrimination in the courts.

 

It's clear that different races have different standards or acceptance to crime.

 

Blacks on average are more prone to do crime that prompts that hate. White man can not and SHOULD not be blames for BLACK crime. The person responsible for a crime is the person COMMITTING the crime.

 

You haven't been watching or you choose not to see. Jesse Jackson, Bill Cosby, the mayor of Detroit, and many others have spoken out publicly. I personally know blacks who speak out privately.

I agree with Zook that it's cultural. Culture and government policies that create massive unemployment and children with no father in their life. I don't think a woman can raise a boy to be a man any better than a man can raise a girl to be a woman. And women without a positive male role-model as they grow up don't even know what to look for in a man.

We also need to remember that the overwhelming majority of victims for black crime are other blacks. For me the shame is not that blacks don't speak out but liberal whites find it acceptable. For me, it's like malaria. If only one percent of the millions of babies dying from malaria were white instead of black you can bet your bippy we'd be able to buy DDT at the neighborhood garden shop. Of course, if liberals don't care you won't see much in the news media.

i said it was greed and "other", with other being influence of culture with the culture being "gangster life" BS as described by their hero's in the rap world.

its a cultural issue more than anything as well as constantly playing victim and taking credit for something they never truly been through. they themselves feel entitled. also a big part about it is lack of personal responsibility, especially with the male black who thinks they can just get a woman pregnant and move on without having to care for the child he helped create.
