According to Bret Weinstein's testimony before Congress and substantiated by your and other leftists statements on this board, if you are anywhere right of the newly formed left orthodoxy, you are a far right Trump supporter. The fact is, I didn't vote for Trump and oppose most of his actions.

I am conflating attained education, with or without a certificate, to intellectual development. The only ignorance is in your twisting the facts by inserting a word here and there in your rebuttal.

Good for you. I didn't vote for him either. I am hardly a "leftist" because I did not vote for Trump. I cannot fathom how anybody could vote for Trump due to his divisiveness, bigotry, incompetence, vindictiveness, lack of compassion, philosophy, and lack of moral fiber.

I voted for Trump and proud of it. The weak Obama almost wrecked this country and Hillary would have finished the job had she won. I have been in favor of Trumpery long before he came along. Apparently a majority of the country feels as I do, Trump won. And before you start screeching about the electoral college, can it, it's the system the founding fathers set up and it works. It save the country from the commie socialists.

What you may be seeing is a distinct shift towards an economics based philosophy and a slight departure from a primarily 'social values' based philosophy.

America First-Americans First Populism -- "Trumpery", if you must -- knows instinctively and intellectually that lower taxes, fewer regulations, better trade deals, and an overall business-friendly environment (versus "you didn't build that") creates prosperity, and that prosperity is what allows all of us to better exercise our individual rights, liberties and pursuits of happiness.....better allows us to experience true independence, in a nation that officially celebrates independence every July 4th.

I mean, what good are rights, liberties and pursuits of happiness if you're broke and can't find work?

what good are abortion rights, same-sex marriage rights, and decriminalized marijuana
to people who can't put food on their table because Almighty Government has imported cheaper labor, and taxed, regulated and 'trade dealed' their job opportunities and chances for better wages away?

In hindsight, the worst thing to have ever happened to the right-wing is the departure from "it's the economy, stupid" to the adoption of the "Moral Majority" philosophy back when the hippies were rolling around in the mud naked and freaking out all the prudes and stuffed shirts.

absolute worst thing ever.....that single stupid move is what allowed radical leftists to look like the more 'reasonable' choice.

In my view, it is Trump's conduct that may have turned the tide. His divisiveness, bigotry, incompetence, vindictiveness, lack of compassion, lack of humility, lack of moral fiber, lack of pragmatism.....all of this may have some influence.

Correction" "it's the economy stupid" was a Democrat, left wing, Bill Clinton slogan.

Other than Trump is neither divisive nor a bigot; he is extremely competent, has great compassion where compassion is deserved, is moral, and pragmatism is his strongest trait. He can be vindictive but maybe only because the Democrats think he doesn't play by the rules which say Republicans are supposed to roll over or hightail it with their tail between their legs. True he does not have much humility, but humility is an overstated good quality, and he does not have much to be humble about.

I think it was James Carville, Clinton's co-campaign manager that came up with the slogan...... but, close enough.

No. You stated that those with a high school education stopped their intellectual growth. The coo of a multi billion dollar corporation I used to work for was a line employee for 6 years, floor supervisor, then manager, director, company sent him back to school, then vp to coo. Dude learned Japanese while being a high school graduate.

I don't think he's that divisive, I don't really think he's a bigot, he's obviously not incompetent, he is rather vindictive, can't really pinpoint if he has compassion, we don't need a philosopher imo, and he's quite immoral as far as his personal relationships.

The divisiveness is orchestrated and sold, every single person is labeled a bigot these days. He's a very successful business person that won an extremely improbable election. There are a lot of stories of his charity.

Conservatism will re-emerge to overcome Trumpery and restore decency to the GOP

One reason conservatives will vanquish Trumpery and win back the GOP is that it is embarrassing for so many decent, patriotic Americans.

Obviously, we have differences with Trump's business acumen, competence, compassion for others, bigotry, divisiveness, mental problems and it would take a lot of space for me to explain my reasoning. There sure are a lot of stories about his charity.

It still doesn't change your statement and subsequent perception that you have disdain for those that do not get their education from academia.

You guys really need to wake up to the fact that most centrists find very troubling behavior within academia. Also, the quality standards of the attained "education" have become suspect.

I did not express "disdain" for those who have not continued with their education. Again you put words in my mouth.
