how does one "refute" an "opinion"? that is what you believe. I believe differently. I get a kick out of your posting style where every one of your opinions is written to make it seem as if it is a decided proven fact. It's classic you!

I really like the way you post. You don't project opinions onto others, don't insult and you give direct answers. O'l Blues could learn a great deal from you.
As far as issues discussed, if you recall, Obama took the number $100B a year out for a test drive and the Repubs flipped out. So the $500B over time was the dem compromise to the Repubs refusal to make serious cuts - something they have have always claimed they would do and have never actually done.

You didn't know that he's a Constitutional Expert, Medal of Honor Winner, Former Astronaut and Ballerina, Black Belt, Blue Blood, White Knight and Numismatist? So of course all his opinions are empirical fact! Fool! How could you think otherwise??? ;)

Of course, he could just be someone who doesn't have the expertise he claims, (shocker!) doesn't own or operate a company, has never served in the military and is just some schmoe on the net claiming everyone who disagrees with him on anything is wrong... :)

    Can I get a clarification?

Are you, in fact, in favor of Social Security and Medicare, but against PPACA?

Ask him the specific policy positions and accomplishments of the GOP that have him voting in their favor. It's entertaining in the way that dodgeball is entertaining when the objective is catch.

I'm voting for Obama for president but the GOP candidate in our district for congress. The reasons are similar. Obama wants to repeal Gramm-Leach-Bliley and so does Joe Heck. Both oppose the Ryan budget. Both have discussed closing the loopholes that allow US corps to offshore over $100B a year in revenues that are earned in the USA. Both supported Obama's proposal to cut $100B a year from Defense. Unfortunately the overwhelming majority of the GOP blew up at the idea.
I don't like or agree with every position of ANY politician but Obama has been much more consistent and kept a lot more major promises than I imagined he would.
The problem I have with Romney is Has agreed with me on virtually every issues, disagreed with me on virtually every issue and is now agreeing with me again. I find it hilarious that anyone would say they're voting for him because he's honest. Talk about blinded by ideology!
The problem I have with Heck's candidate is that he hasn't agreed OR disagreed with me or anyone else on any subject. Oceguera is so evasive, I don't think I've ever seen a straightforward, direct answer (kinda like Bluesguy ;) ) The Dem candidate is everything I hate about politicians. So I may not agree with Heck on everything but like Obama, he's been pretty darn consistent, he's gone against the party line or expectations, and I like some of the things he's accomplished.
So one vote Dem for Pres, one vote Repub for Congress.

probably the libertarian candidate Gary Jhonson.

there needs to be a major shift in ideology ASAP before we go too far down the road to serfdom and being that both parties are going down that road the only solution is a rise in the libertarian movement and for it to make a statement.

I'm torn between voting for Obama or a third party. I will probably end up voting for Obama because he's slightly better than Romney...or at least I think. But only slightly.

So ya'll are left with nothing but a style over substance post. And note how the post you are refererencing offered no discussion, no rebuttal, just opinion.

And for those who don't seem very familiar with political debating opinions ARE key components of such debates. Opinions are formed of facts as my post demonstrate.

When you want to come out of your sandbox and discuss the issues and YOUR OPINION of them back by facts, let me know.

I am against not doing anything about Social Security and Medicare as in real reforms, as opposed to the person I was responding to who is in favor of doing nothing and against PPACA in it's entirety as passed.

I'm voting for Romney. He has good business sense and he will take the chains off business that Obama has placed on them in the form of more and more regulations. Whether he likes it or not....we have a capitalist society and we need strong private businesses to flourish. They create jobs. Obama has created uncertainty.

Romney will also work to keep the Bush tax cuts in place....because to not do so, means the largest tax increase we've had in a long time.

Romney knows about business and how to run a successful business. He understands their problems and what they need.

Romney will not place people in his administration who continually play the race card. Romney will not, as president, be devisive and play the race card himself. He will be a present for ALL; not just the few.

Romney will bring back pride in this country; instead of always beating it down.

Romney will concentrate on turning this economy around.....which is where the focus should have been 4 years ago!

I'll vote for Johnson if he is present as a choice. If the electronic poll has only Obama or Romney, I'll turn around and walk out. Romney got me excited in the initial debates as to anti-China rhetoric, but was obviously told to stop, which tells me he has no spine. And we all know what Obama is worth. The only way I'd vote is if the elite came straight out and said, "look..we don't want a black president. Vote him out and we will invest all the money we have stolen and are sitting on". But it would have to come straight from the horse's mouth, not Romney or his ground floor supporters.

So 4 more years of unemployment above 8%. Annual deficits exceeding $1.2 trillion. And a national debt increase in excess of $11 trillion, more than doubling the starting national debt is GOOD with you as long as he is consistent with his failed policies? Ludicrous!

So, to turn the economy around from what it was 4 years ago...he's basically going to implement the policies that made the economy bad in the first place? How does that make sense?

Ya know...unemployment used to be in the double digits...but it got brought DOWN to 8.1-8.2%. It was brought down under Obama......after he implemented the stimulus package....which most economists basically favored doing.....

MAYBE if a certain party wasn't bent on making sure Obama didn't pass anything else after 2010 unemployment would have gotten a little lower...

So you have ZERo to say about specifically how Romney will solve any of the problems you blame on Obama? Well of course not... As opposed to my post, which list specific policy positions etc...
    Weak.

Well those policies kept a slowdown and recession from going deeper, turned it around, produced 52 months of growth, 52 months of full employment, soaring government revenues, declining deficits in 2005, 2006 and 2007 to just $161 billion.

So what exactly was bad about them?

It went up under Democrat policies and hit double digits under Obama after selling his stimulus on the claim it would keep unemployment under 8%. It hasn't been under 8% since he has been President and is trending back up and 8% is a HORRIBLE number. It never got higher than 6.5% under Bush in the slowdown and recession he inherited.

All that growth stemmed from the housing bubble and related construction jobs. If democrats are to blame for the damage of when it popped, then technically they should get the credit for the economy before it popped. Either way, pseudo growth does more harm than good in the long run. If one doesn't feel the same, then they should be screaming to give loans to people who technically shouldn't qualify.

Ahhh the leftist excuse that it was just a bubble when it was Bush but not a bubble when the economy grew under Clinton and they brag on it. The huge increase in capital gains taxes were not from a housing bubble nor the across the board increase in business activity and hiring and employment. AND the propping up of lower end less qualified buyers merely kept responsible buyers out of the market. And yes the fact remains had the Democrat heeded the call their would not have been the collapse, just a normal market adjustment and we would have then carried right on.

52 months of full employment, $161 billion deficit. So where did the Democrats take it and how successful have they been at getting the economy back on track?

    HILARIOUS!

Republicans controlled the WH and both Houses of Congress. Even before they controlled the WH, they forced Clinton [a wise Democrat] into a balanced budget that produced a surplus. Then controlling all of govt, the economy was excellent, unemployment low, inflation low, taxes low, fed revenue high, deficits low, and then Democrats took control of both Houses of Congress and everything went right down the toilet and HAVE STAYED there while revenue has decreased, unemployment has increased and remained high for longer THAN ANY OTHER PERIOD IN US HISTORY. And deficit spending has increased beyond all sanity. EACH YEAR deficits exceed previous record high deficits by a factor of nearly 3. And you want to blame Republicans and give Democrats credit.

    HILARIOUS,,,,,,,and insane.

Barack Obama is the greatest threat to liberty and economic prosperity in my lifetime. That is why I will vote for Romney.

I could never vote for a Democrat because of their stance on abortion….so it is never an option for me.

However I see Obama as the biggest threat to liberty and economic prosperity today. The policies he has implemented not to mention his racist actions i would think would be enough to influence those who voted for him simply because they wanted change…to think about their vote this time around.

The damage he has done to this country is immeasurable.

Romney on the other hand is as moral a politician as you could get. I am not a Mormon and do not believe Mormons are Christian but I know Mormon people and believe that they pursue righteousness and liberty. The majority are pro-life. Romney has flipped flopped on a few issues..but all politicians do this…that is a given. Obama just did it to get votes.

I think Romney is a man of character…something Obama is not.
