One good reason for men to learn to fix themselves a healthy meal if whoever they're relying on to feed them isn't doing it.

 

I am actually married, to a non-american girl. We are happily married. She LOVES being a wife in the conventional sense. And the result of her love for me, she gets treated like a queen. We have no arguments because we have clearly defined and agreed upon roles. And we both enjoy the roles we have. Neither one of us feeling like we are being objectified or suppressed.

I think some are quite jealous. She wakes up about 30 minutes before I do in the morning, makes breakfast and has a cup of hot coffee waiting for me when I wake up. She calls me at work to find out when i will be home for lunch and has a nice hot tasty meal for me.. And she knows when I will be home for dinner. Its always good!!! And I routinely come home with roses, and take her out to romantic evenings on the weekends.

Find an american girl that will do that for you!

 

I need this!! My gf is torturous. Always having to go to Costco or shopping, cook if she is tired, not allowed to watch football, etc. You are lucky!

Lol~ right! And some of the best chefs in the world are men. My guy made the best oyster stew I ever tasted, so I had him show me how to make it. He put together a lot of good dinners.

When my son was 10, one day it dawned on me... he had always had a mother and 2 older sisters to cook for him - not good for the women he'd be meeting and dating and eventually marrying one of them. So, that day when he got home from school, I was waiting. He asked me to fix him a fried egg sandwich. I took him out to the kitchen, introduced him to the stove, showed him what a skillet was and how to crack open an egg. He started making his own right away and other snacks. When he was entering his teens, I got more serious and he learned a lot about cooking...

He had always loved my pot roast, so I showed him how to make it. One day his wife said he makes 'a killer pot roast' - I said 'thank you. Glad to hear it'... and that's one of the easiest dinners you can make. You throw the roast, spuds, carrots & sauce for gravy in the roaster, set the oven for 225 and cook it all day long........

Most men are very capable of learning household chores. It's just that their mothers never taught them anything b/c he was her 'baby boy' - especially if she had daughter(s).....

Yes? My wife and I both cook. We also both clean (EVERYTHING), wash clothes, wash dishes, do yard work, and take care of our daughter.

Certainly, and your post here has definatly added to the debate!! What I have been saying is the underlying cause of why men like this are castrated in the press. Then drug thru the street and hanged in divorce court.

A successfull man who's only mistake was to get married to an American woman. Look at his wife, does she look like a the typical wife of a very successful man. She looks 20 years older than him, she looks un-kept and I can only imagine the reason he was cheating was because there is no way he could possibly be attracted to her anymore.

Yes, and what my wife does for me, and what I do for her is teamwork also. In fact, it is deeper than that. I work so she does not have to, and she cooks and cleans so that when im done with work, I can relax. Its better than teamwork, its caring for someone and showing your love to them.

 

What does that have to do w/your own ability to cook a meal and make it a healthy one?

I guess all men are idiots. Thats what the press tells us. That is what movies seem to say. The men are always the idiots doing stupid stuff in the movies while the woman is the smart rational one. In reality, this is far from it. Anyhow, there are websites full of men who have been screwed by the system. Statistics also show the biasness (more than 7 out of 10 women get custody of the children). Just look at the celebrity gossip pages in any newspaper. Women getting millions in alimony and child support. How is this fair. Tiger Woods is one of the greatest golfers on the planet. Is his wife entitled to half his money. The only club she ever swung was the one that busted out the window in their family SUV. So why is she entitled to what he has worked so hard for??? Its even worse that women are blind to it. Actually, its worse than that. They know the system benifits them and will do everything in their power to keep it that way.

She will, but she will never be fat, and she takes care of herself very well. She is feminine in every sense of the word. She wants to look sexy for me because she knows it benefits our relationship. I also stay in good shape (job 3-5 times a week, 5 miles at a time). We will both get old, but at least we will age at nearly the same rate because we take care of ourselves.

Many women here have turned to non-traditional jobs such as electricians, constructions workers, working in the mills along w/the men b/c the pay is much better. I know a gal who does maintenance work for a large apartment complex and she's very good at it.

So, if you married a gal who's a maintenance worker, you wouldn't be willing to cook dinner while she fixes the plumbing?

When I was married, sometimes I got tired of cooking and when I'd see my husband drag out the lawn mower, I run out and tell him I'll mow the grass if he'd fix dinner and that's what we did..... I loved that 'manly' job of mowing the grass......

 

That does sound like a perfect arrangement and it's great that she's always on schedule, but wondering about one little thing........ do you 2 have kids? If so, how old? Does your wife work outside the home?
