The success of any individual comes only by their inner or innate ability to strive for goals despite the living conditions and or enviornment in which they come from.

Yes, but this is where politics comes in to play. I am a firm believer in stripping the teacher's unions of all their power and liberal indoctrination over our students. Most these unionized teachers only care about their personal benefit package, and not about giving a quality education to the students. The violence of these inner cities would be curtailed somewhat if not altogether if we scrapped nationalized education in lieu of setting up charter schools, handing out vouchers, letting states and counties provide schooling as they see fit, provide private schooling and tutors and having more home schooling. In short, get big government out of education at all cost.

Your life story isn't much different than mine in that we both suffered some undue stress and or trauma. I suffered serious physical and emotional trauma in my dysfunctional family adolescence. I was drafted into the Vietnam war at the age of 19, but my tour there was actually a relief from the pounding I received at home. I am currently classified as a 100% disabled veteran with PTSD, but unlike a lot of the combat vets I see at the VA hospitals, I manage to strive to be the best I can be, despite my obvious handicap.

Good for you. You know, talking to my VA shrink, I told him that some day I was going to be a psychologist and get to explore the troubling parts of the brain of a suffering combat veteran, or of anyone who had traumatic experiences in life. I never did reach that goal, but I do manage to spend most of my daze now sunning on these Florida beaches. Retirement is so grand, if you can avoid the daily stresses.

I didn't realize it at the time, and as much as I fought the draft almost going AWOL, the military did make a man of me, and I enjoyed every bit of it since I was living it in the prime of my life when we're suposed to have fun.

I see your point, but we'll just have to agree to disagree on our support or non support of welfare programs.

That was more than 2 cents worth, my friend. Thanks for sharing that personal account with me. You would have been a star in one of my hospital PTSD cohort meetings for opening up like that. Many combat veterans keep troubling things hidden at their own risk of suffering even more traumatic ailments.

Thanks for the kind words. It is appreciated.

Ive always been pretty open about things. Good or bad its just my personality I guess. Plus im proud of what I have done in life. I havent done anything really special, but just being normal is an accomplishment I think, so im happy with that.

We aren't going to agree on social programs but thats fine. I don't agree with my wife on most things and we still get along most of the time hahaha!!

And yes I wont lie and say I didnt enjoy my time in Iraq because most of the time I actually enjoyed it. I didnt ever support the war there but I did my job and actually met some cool people and had some fun experiences. Most people had to worry about bullets, I was MP so I mainly had to worry about getting spit on or having feces thrown at me. It beats bullets lmao.

Actually it was pretty dangerous, it made me change my mind on a career in law enforcement but I look back on it and smile for the most part. Terrorists in general hit like girls and cant kick very well either haha. Actually the ones who spoke English could actually be ok to talk to.

I would like to make a motion to submit a question for consideration to the Brotherhood of Man concerning why racism is even important in modern times?

Way to be part of the problem. This kind of prejudice and bigotry is the exact same thing you claim to be against. If you honestly want to help fix the problem, you should practice a little of what you preach to others,

Don't you get it? If you spend all your time being self-righteous, judgmental, and condescending toward others, you don't really have a leg to stand on when you demand other people should be more "tolerant." Look at what you just typed. You don't even practice tolerance, yourself. Tolerance means accepting what is different, not accepting only what you already believe in. That is the very definition of intolerance.

Why on earth do you not consider your story a success story? You did exactly what you're supposed to. You pulled yourself up by your boot straps and got your life back on track. You didn't use a bad upbringing as an excuse to turn to crime or violence. I don't know what your barometer for success is, but it sounds like it is a bit skewed. You are only focusing on what you don't have instead of what you do have. I would say a lot of people on this forum could learn something from you. You should be proud of yourself.

They like the ones they don't visit the most, since its too much work to go there. But they know the harbor is really appealing though, best crab cakes around anywhere.

Yeah, I'm laughing right along with you, but at some point we have to consider these people to be deranged or psychotic or both.

In my opinion, persons who claim to believe in racism, without a just Cause, are merely contributing to the delinquency of politicians.

Race is a political term.In my opinion, there is no such thing as a race. Its just a concept invented to manipulate people and fuel up political ideologies.Race is not scientific. There are ethnic identities.Anthropology, genetics that tell us about the differences of people. But race not.

Races are just genetically similar populations. Extended families, if you will. They exist, unfortunately.

Well, in a sense - but it is really any sense you choose. Families come in all sorts and why should one sort seem better than another? There are certainly no 'races' in the sense conservative posters seem to mean.

Race is a social concept. For example if someone uses the "N word" for black people. There are mostly social reasons behind it such as attitude and life style etc.You cant expect someone that uses the "N word" to be a social democrat. So there is mostly a political motivation that fuels up that mentality of such people. The term low race and superior race also political concepts.

If there was such thing as a low or a superior race, the majority of long distance marathon winners wouldnt be from Kenya.

Is there anyone faster than Ussain Bolt in 100 meters sprint?

Can any white player dunk like LeBron James?

    Genetics,anthropology exist,race not.

LOL! My apologies. I thought you were just trolling. No, that's not how capitalism works. The corporate culture at the best companies have people working together and united. But I can understand how you would be confused considering where you live.

That's my opinion. I agree with you that race as a political concept is destructive, whether or not it purports to do good for one group or another.

In my opinion, race may be confused for tribe by some people.

What happens when a colony of black ants comes into contact with a colony of red ants? Will there ever come a time in the future where the two colonies do not instinctively kill eachother?

I think I have answered your question.
