Who knows what really happened? What we do know is that the media sensationalises, misreports and occasionally lies. The whole story has a strong whiff of a drug deal gone wrong.
Sounds fair enough. She was threatened by two thugs with weapons, she had the right to protect herself and her baby.
Ian doesn't seem to like guns in the hands of private citizens in America. I was just saying what our Aussie visitor could have been thinking.
They have the 911 call. Read the article. I think this young mom has gone thru enuf grief w/o someone thinking he can 'smell a whiff of a drug deal gone wrong'....... that's disgusting.
I do agree with the mother's choice to defend herself, but I do find it kind of sick that some people seem to "celebrate" her shooting this guy even though the taking of any human life is a tragic thing. Does anyone know if the invaders knew she had a gun?
What's "tragic" about it? Some violent scumbags got exactly what they deserved. I'm glad of it. Not sure, but they found out the hard way. Good riddance, I say.
I'm celebrating the young mother's LIFE she was able to keep. Did you read the article? He broke her door down and came in w/a 12" hunting knife.... for a guy to do that, he has to be a psychopath! And I seriously doubt it if he forced his way in to have a cup of coffee w/her..... Any guy who breaks his way into a woman's home and carrying a deadly weapon is not going to leave her alive to call the cops and there was her baby..... The deaths of psychopaths, pedophiles, serial killers, sexual predators is not a tragedy.....
OMG !!!!!! Criminals should not have more rights than law abiding citizens. Crime has gotten so bad in my area, I keep 2 loaded shotguns and a .357 with speed loaders nearby. I'm pretty concerned for my life and my family. Can't even leave the house lately, there's been so many robberies. Local crackheads are stripping wiring and stealing anything, and they're armed. You can't reason with these people. They'll kill ya as soon as look atcha. Thanks, Obama and dems for the policies that are destroying this country. Henderson teen tells 911 dispatcher: 'I just shot the man'
I hope the OP does know the D.c. and Chicago...never banned shotguns or long barreled weapons. Only handguns. The mother in the story used a shotgun. I don't feel sorry for the piece of trash who got blown away either. If you don't turn around and run when you're staring down the barrel of shotgun held by a mother who's scared for the life of her child...then you really are asking for it.
This 18 year old girl was married to a man who was 58 years old for 2 years, lovely. This intruder stalked her for years apparently and murdered two of her dogs. What a wonderful place. I think shotguns are acceptable firearms to own for self defense. Reading the full article elsewhere I think that the perpetrators fully intended to do this girl serious harm and that she was perfectly justified in shooting the man who broke into her house with 12" knife. I think it's disgusting that people "cheer" about incidents like this. Look at the state of that community, it's disgusting. There is nothing to cheer about. What is significant about this story is that the perpetrators were A. So stupid and B. Didn't have guns themselves. They could have easily jumped her as she was entering/leaving the house and caught her unawares. Instead they tried to break into the house through the locked front door when there was a very good chance that she would own a gun. Again... why do people think that because someone "might own a gun" this will be a disincentive to house breaking? Sounds like the kind of town where everyone and there mums are packing, and yet here you have it. Two idiots housebreaking, with a knife. Feel very sorry for that girl, what an absolutely rubbish life she has had and what a (*)(*)(*)(*) hole of a town she lives in.
^if she married when was 16, doesn't that break any laws with his being so old? How the hell did her parents agree to her marrying such an old man?
Really? Apparently a man trying to break in with a 12-inch knife. He didn't bring it for any good reason otherwise he wouldn't be trying to BREAK IN! Then move there. What evidence supports this?
She could have been emancipated from her parents. That's very unlikely though. Yeah, I agree, seems like this family is a bit...odd but the main point is that she defended herself from two armed intruders. She used a shotgun, which has never been banned anywhere that I am aware of in the states.
She knew they have a knife. She knew they broke in. She knew her and her kid were in danger. Anyone breaking into a home with a weapon deserves zero pity.
I'm celebrating because some states have the right to defend there homes. I cant wait to leave Mass. She would have been arrested for protecting herself and her child.
that is the case but it should be changed people who break and enter aren't really looking to harm anyone just steal property human rights should come before property rights in law so unless the intruders had guns it doesn't look like a justified shooting as if she annoucned she had a gun anyone with a knife would leave the preservation of life should be a main concern here
