Nothing was futile, you simply overstated what the EO says. No big deal.

All the same, I don't see a need to build a wall at the bottom or the top of a sheer cliff or a deep ravine.
There are a number of things which I feel is in need of change relative to our immigration laws but the wall is a start.
Citizenship for example. This might be an issue requiring agreement by ALL nations. A child, regardless of where it is born should have a birth right to the citizenship of the Mother no matter where the birth occurs, and if the Father is proven to be a citizen of another country the child might also be entitled to dual citizenship allowing a choice to be made upon reaching adulthood. It would then be a felony to illegally enter the country if pregnant with intent to give birth in the U.S.A. and be prosecuted under the charge of smuggling or contraband as it is a felony to smuggle aliens into the country.
As for States or cities refusing to comply with our Federal immigration laws, withholding Federal funds from the State until which time they are found to be compliant, with a daily fine reducing the amount they will receive upon compliance would be an appropriate action to take.
Our census should be a count of the population of each State, but for political purposes should be reduced by the number of non-citizens, regardless of legality, included in the count.
Those who enter the country illegally should be returned to the last country they left which if not the country in which they are a citizen would then deal with them under their own immigration laws, with the only exception being they can not be returned to the U.S.A. If Mexico or any other country wants to play the middleman in illegal immigration to the U.S.A. they should be held responsible for more, if not all the costs of allowing it.

I certainly agree that it would be senseless (but very comical) for anyone to try to build a 'wall' through many of the natural barriers and features in the desert-mountain terrain. Still, no matter what kind of terrain in involved, armed reconnaissance drones would be very effective, as would anti-personnel mines in the more heavily-crossed areas. Again, I provided President Trump's Executive Order for reference -- not my own personal 'endorsement', which means less than nothing.

I'm afraid we disagree rather sharply about 'citizenship', per se. But, I do agree that we need to overhaul the requirements for citizenship in this country, and, of equal or greater importance, who gets to VOTE in this country. There should be no 'diversity quotas', 'chain-migration', 'anchor-babies' or any of that nonsense. In my view, BOTH parents of a child born in the United States should be citizens of this country in order for that child to claim an American birthright, and that the Mother will have been resident in this country (or an American citizen legally abroad) for a period of not less than one year BEFORE the birth of any offspring in order for that child to be considered a citizen. This would automatically get rid of the 'anchor-baby' loophole.

Voting? Only citizens who are self-supporting should be allowed to vote in this country! Anyone who takes any form of government handout welfare during a calendar year should be forbidden to vote during that calendar year. Oops! Did I just destroy the Democrat Party?! :roflol:

Or Soros would be bankrupted in an election year.
But I think you made some excellent points above.
Maybe a tax return along with an ID in order to vote?

If it includes perfecting a time machine that stops Trump's ancestors from immigrating from Germany?

    Yes.

Sounds plausible, but none of our ideas will be taken up or seriously considered.

Reality: the great Socialist-Democrat demi-God, Frankie Roosevelt, created the Welfare State over 80 years ago. His Liberal Democrat "Star Pupil", Lyndon Johnson, expanded it dramatically. And, of course we saw how welfare handouts BALLOONED during the Obama regime.

We'll never be rid of it now. The Welfare State is like a leech that is permanently affixed to the body of the United States of America. It will simply keep on sucking our national life's blood forever... because that's all it knows how to do.... And today's America-hating, hyperliberal Democrats know that the best way to keep the welfare-herd in their tightly-controlled 'corral' indefinitely is to keep them appeased and dumbed down -- permanently addicted to subsistence government handouts. The Democrat Party would completely disappear within 10 years if people on welfare weren't allowed to vote!

with exception of texas and its oil republican states are poorer than democrat states, most socialist handouts go to the poor in red states.

if they weren't allowed to vote republicans could enslave their poor instead of give them welfare, since they are too lazy to work.

If you want to optimally stop illegal immigration a wall is not the most effective means of doing that. Of course, it will make it harder to cross the border, but as time progresses they will find other ways, although it might slow it down somewhat. But if you want the optimum solution, and I am convinced DC is not interested in that at all, that solution lies in taking away the carrots that bring these people here in the first place. Whether it is a job or any welfare benefits that can be drawn. So, make the punishments for employers greater, with some jail time mandatory and large fines. And institute a reward if the employer is convicted, even a few hundred bucks would do it. We do with with drug dealers here where I live or used to. If we enforced these harsher employer laws and make an example out of several of them, you would remove the carrots and the rabbits would stay home. Just common sense, which means it is the only thing which would work, if you actually wanted to solve the problem, which obviously DC is not interested in doing.

But you can make the american people believe you are serious, when you are not. And this has been the case with the GOP for a long time. They want cheap illegal labor for their businessmen voters and the national chamber of commerce which lobby for these employers. No big secret here what the NCoC wants. It is public record.

I would LOVE to see this country have a chance to prove whether or not the Democrat Party could survive ten years without being able to get a "welfare vote". Sadly, this is an experiment that will never be conducted....

You seem to be making a case for welfare being the cause of illegal immigration. Surely people would not illegally enter the U.S. to be enslaved.

As it stands, our immigration laws/enforcement results in a "if you don't succeed, try, try again" risk/reward assessment. Nothing to lose, something to gain is no deterrent at all.

The 16th Amendment makes that difficult, if not impossible. And then we have the 17th amendment and the Federal Reserve Act which fundamentally changed our government making debt a way of life.

illegal immigrant slave labor for both conservative and liberal business owners outweigh what they take from the government.

immigration laws are a win win for both sides, since immigrants consent to slavery and employers consent to being their masters.

Americans wouldn't work for low pay, or immigration enforcement would work efficiently.

We could make all work not worth paying the minimum wage illegal, and if a demand exists for such labour, raise the price of it accordingly to those who are willing to purchase the product or service. Eliminate any/all government subsidies and allow prices of products and/or services to rise to what people are willing/able to pay in order to consume and/or procure them.

the master/slave relationship of American capitalism is consensual for all intents and purposes, but thats not to say european socialism doesn't have its place in America for those unwilling or unable to compete.

Imo, China should be consulted about using the ancient stonemasonry techniques but hire Americans to learn the craft of stonemasonry so that there will be more American freemasons in the future.

For those who are unable to contribute in any way to provide for themselves, I agree. For those who are unwilling to contribute, simply making them aware of the consequences should be sufficient allowing them to experience the consequences good or bad as a result of their choice.

european socialism protects consent, not all want to consent to the slavery of capitalism.

freedom in America allows free Americans to consent to the slavery of capitalism, or the pity of socialism.

the welfare plantation is the lesser evil to the economic plantation for many, and vice versa.

Then it should be left to the people and local governments, not our Federal government, how to address the problem in ways that are most beneficial and cost effective.
If you wish to equate capitalism to slavery then it would only be fair for those who consent to be enslaved to benefit from their labours. It would appear that I am not a supporter of European socialism in the U.S.A. but could be coerced to support a fund to provide the means to emigrate for those who are.
I'm beginning to see that we may disagree rather sharply much more than I thought on a number of things.
Survival in the world we live in, in my opinion, is an activity NOT an entitlement. And I don't count voting as an adequate action to provide for ones survival.

you appear to be a superior alpha, fittest for survival in the capitalist world.

if you no longer wish to provide pity for entitled beta socialists, you can use lawful government force against the inferior who do not want to leave your fruitful country with bountiful gifts.

President Trump is working for you, god bless.

Good ideas in general. In addition we need to make sure that immigration is easy for the right people and impossible for the wrong. We need to end birthright citizenship and giving any services such as drivers licenses or education to illegals. Once we find someone is illegal they need to be tracked down and deported immediately.

I agree for the most part, the wall is more a deterrent to greatly lower illegal crossing, it will not stop all of it. The other issues are visa overstays and illegal workers, how do we lower visa overstays? E-verify would help with illegal workers, accept those paid in cash.

Claiming the GOP wants cheap illegal labor for their business donors, is ideological ignorance. Many Democrats have been busted for using cheap illegal labor.

The man has not written or said a sentence I yet agree with so I would vote no on anything he proposed.
