    The reports are too early. I have heard anywhere from 4 to 15 killed and 20 injured. It is hectic around here at the moment. I am currently about 3 miles from the college.

    This is Douglas County, Oregon.....good chance there was at one confederate flag on campus. Though it is doubtful that this is race related.

    Yup Im sure it is another gun free zone. When are the fool gun grabbers going to get the idea that a gun free zone are a safe target rich environment for killers.

    That's what I'm saying. I've been through the area, it's similar to where I was raised in Alabama. And we know the effect those darn Confederate Flags have on people... :cool:

    Oregon issues concealed carry permits. While it is illegal in Oregon to have a gun on school property, CCP holders are normally exempt. I do not know what the school policies are.

    Edit: Umpqua Community College (UCC) bans weapons in buildings (as all colleges in Oregon have this ban)....don't know if they are banned on campus.

    Still, how many college kids carry.... and this is community college, so typically the youngest college kids.

    I don't know if this would be any different if it wasn't gun-free.

    Correct. This area is pretty big on CCPs, but it is doubtful that many would have had a gun on campus.

    Before the thread gets too politicized...thoughts go out to the victims.

    Roseburg, Oregon is a rural area..it's a logging town that has seen better days. It's mostly conservative.

    I'm hearing that he was detained.

    Latest report is 7-10 dead and at least 20 injured. 11 transported to hospitals.....one is on LifeFlight and one is waiting for LifeFlight. (LifeFlight is helicopter transport)

    Yes, for the anti-gunners this is a good news story. It is illegal for anyone to have self defense firearms on the campus, so fortunately the shooter was not harmed. The shooter shot as many people as he wanted to, remaining himself safe. That's all that really matters. Someone shooting the shooter would just be murder for murder, and they will tell you that is always wrong. Just because he was killing people doesn't mean anyone should kill him. Two wrongs don't make a right. That's their logic.
