There will never be no deaths from accidental/negligent shootings, the same way that we still have hundreds of deaths each year from each of these causes: Falling out of a wheelchair, falling down the stairs, falling on level ground, falling out of bed and falling out of a chair, according to CDC WISQARS data.
1) It's not Constitutional, as it violates both Heller and Miller. 2) It's not enforceable, as local law enforcement won't support it. We don't know who owns all proscribed firearms. 3) It won't be effective, as the criminals who own guns won't turn theirs in and will simply start importing more from across the permeable southern border to meet the black market demand. 4) It's not passable, it would never get through both Houses of Congress, the Presidency and SCOTUS. It would require a change to the 2nd Amendment, which needs 38 states to ratify. Find a recent red/blue map of the states. Start counting red states. Stop when you get to 13. 5) Prove that it's necessary.
I guess childrens lives don't mean much to you as long as you can hide behind your precious guns. - - - Updated - - - And it was said that Trump would never get elected either.
Do you drive a car? 2200 children under 15 are killed in car accidents every year. So you take my point about red states, then.
Cars are restricted far more than guns. Are you suggesting mandatory training, licensing and registration of guns? I'm in.
Yes, the biased media that so badly colluded to drag her across the finish line got it wrong, didn't they.
If cars are restricted far more than guns (and they aren't), why do they continue to kill more kids than guns? Are you suggesting mandatory training, licensing and registration of cars just isn't that effective?
- - - Updated - - - If the anti-gun side could not argue with fallacious appeals to emotion, ignorance and/or dishonestly, they'd be silent.
Cars are used billions and billions of man hours a day more than guns. Anyone with even a basic understanding of statistics would know that car death should be MANY MANY times more than gun death. Yet they are almost the same. Guns are FAR more dangerous than cars
I'm told that just by having a gun in my house that I'm "x" times more likely to die. That's a 24/7/365 condition. Is that not the case, then, that the mere presence of guns in a house is a higher risk? Regardless, why are 2200 dead kids acceptable? Why don't we require all children to wear full NASCAR protective gear?
If you would like to push for increased protection for children in cars please do. But a gun or a car is deadly only when it is being used. A gun in your house presents a higher risk because the use of it is far more likely. And cars are used billions of more man hours a day than guns. One poster on here reported that he had over 100 guns....there are some he never touches. STATISTICALLY guns are FAR more dangerous than guns.
Irrelevant. The fact remains that the numbers are dropping, while firearms ownership is increasing. Thus it is not the availability of the weapon that is a determining factor in committing an act of violence.
It will as more and more guns are purchased and state anti-gun laws are overturned by SCOTUS! The frustration of the anti-gunners is showing! Relax, take a deep breath. We are heading in the right direction!
And until such time you can show a positive return, in the form of numerous prosecutions and convictions for individuals selling firearms without performing a background check, you have absolutely nothing. What you call a cut is barely even a scratch. More accurately it is a smudge.
