    Try to keep up.

Trump is clamping down on ALL immigration.

And, Trump has failed to implement the features of the bipartisan immigration reform bill of 2013 that were designed to reduce the number of those here wthout papers.

He's not even doing what YOU want! And, he's not doing what those who need work done want, either.

Well I really don't care all that much really. It's impossible to enforce anything when you have sanctuary strongholds.. Until that's corrected illegal immigrants are a waste of effort beyond our border.. And I don't consider immigrants (Legal) part of the problem and wish the left felt the same way..

As for S.744, you're not going to get many Republicans to agree to letting 11 million illegals to essentially get amnesty until the old guard die off and the memory of the Democrats not living up to the conditions of Reagans forgiveness and amnesty..

Sadly, many of our leader still remember this and no longer trust Democrats to follow thru on their part of the deal.

Immigration restrictions are denying US corporations access to top brains from around the world.

Again, this is not just about our heinous treatment of those whose documentation is out of date.

And, as for the Reagan thing, Reagan and the Republicans went through a well known and extremely serious budget cutting campaign that didn't allow for more border work.

Today, Republicans like to point at Dems for not spending billions on the border AND take credit for Reagan's serious budget cuts.

Those of us who were there know what total BS that is.

AND, Dems followed through with a BIPARTISAN immigration reform in 2013, where a solution was hammered out in committee. That bill included $40 Billion for the southern border. And, it passed the Democratic Senate and would have passed the Republican House had Boehner not blocked it.

So, HERE's an idea: try actually working toether to solve the problem rather than searching for ways to try to make stupid partisan nonsense.

AND, I'd suggest reviewing the 2013 bill, too. Hint: Rubio helped create it and promoted it.

Nah! That dog don't hunt for the simply fact that those agreements have been in play since the 1986 man and are still on the books currently, try again :) But that's a perfect example why the house Republican will not work with leftist, they have very selective memories, not unlike you exhibit in your post ;)

What the poster said was that 80% of all applications are rejected. That is absolutely false!

Read the link, the graph didn't copy the country's, Mexico is better then 80%.. He was far more accurate then you were ;)

Do this, instead of assuming he meant "world wide" and before labeling him disingenuous, why not ask him if he meant world wide or Mexico and South America? Clearly he uses the word border (Singular) and not BORDERS, so I took it as he was referring to Mexico and you assumed he was referring to 10 counties LMAO...

No, there is nothing rational about that conclusion.

Let's remember that in 2013 Republicans worked with Democrats on immigration during the Obama administration.

And, in fully bipartisan committees the hammered out a bipartisan immigration reform that got the votes of Republicans and Democrats - and passed the Senate. Beyond that, it would have passed the House, too, if Republican speaker Boehner had ot blocked it from coming to a vote.

NOW, you want to go back to REAGAN??? And, you STILL want to blame Dems for Reagan cutting the budget to the bone?

Sorry. That is just plain sad!

You probably weren't around at the time. But, there are two other things to remember from that:

    - not even Reagan pushed for billions for the wall. What would it look like to be demanding tens of billions for a wall when he was cutting food for poor people, Social Security, and other stuff that had real impact on people's lives?

    - solving immigration in a piecemeal fashion is always going to be problematic, as tradeoffs need to be made, and doing so in sequential fashion is unlikely to work.

We do need immigration reform. But, it has to be done as a single, bipartisan reform.

And, the 2013 bill included more than $40 billion for the Mexican border, so you can't claim Dems won't spend money on a comprehensive solution - a solution that does have to include the southern border.

I was around, I'd been married 12 years (1986) already and buying my first home :) I'm not talking about some wall, I'm talking about all the business side regulations and fines that failed to be levied or enforced. And those same regulations and employment requirements are still enforceable today, well except in sanctuary states and cities ;) Nah, you will be hard pressed to get the Republican old guard to take any immigration leftist bill with amnesty attached to it serious! It's just another underhanded leftist play that is still haunting them today..

As for funding, well Democrats controlled the purse all eight years under Reagan and the last two years Democrats controlled both! ;)

I have argued this far to many times with the leftist, and there is far more to it then just the secure border, and a lot to do with enforcement of businesses doing background checks! Many other things ended up being ignored then and still are today.. Face it, the Democrats simply failed to keep their end of the deal, and it's still a sore spot and will remain a reminder for a very long time to come!!

I don't see this as countering anything I said.

Reagan championed serious spending cuts, especially in social services.

Not even Reagan pushed for spending billions on the wall at that point. He led toward spending cuts, and he won that.

    Stop blaming Dems for Reagan!

That is a pretty lame justification. That is like robbing a bank because they won't give you a credit line. Jesse James did it! Liberal thinking is very lame.

Reagan would have been for the wall if he had more time after Democrats burned him on amnesty! Enforce the laws, build the wall!

But like I said, democrats controlled congress the entire tine Reagan was in office, so if they were so inclined to meet their end of the agreement they certainly could have and I very much doubt Reagan would have cut those funds ;) It seems you are just reluctant to put some or any blame on the Democrats for the WAY things are TODAY.. Not saying you're unique in any way, just more of the same hand me down leftist ideology that they are never the blame with no curiosity to research anything and most of all a willingness to believe their own eyes ;)

First of all, I don't believe what happened back then made any significant difference in what is happening today. The reason is that half came here LEGALLY and then overstayed. Plus, wall doesn't change ANY of the reasons that people want to come here - so there is still an equal size community of those dedicated to getting here.

Beyond that, you're ignoring how politics works. Dems weren't going to spend tens of billions on a wall (fence at that time) when they were sceding huge amounts of aid to AMERICANS who really needed the help.

Reagan was a strong leader. His chosen direction was budget cutting, especially spending on the needy. He made speech after speech concerning flagrant abouse of social services and the need to reduce spending by huge amounts.

He couldn't do that AND tout wall spending any more than Dems could.

    That's what he got!!

    Now, you're moaning!!

Then with all due respect you are quite naïve :( When it comes to any immigration bills that includes amnesty or pathways, it most certainly does come up! And it also goes to show you don't pay attention in matter concerning such things!

And I'm not moaning about anything, that's just another silly little leftist way of redirecting with taunting to avoid addressing real facts ;)

The birth rate is around 1.7 in the US, which is well below the 2.1 fertility rate necessary to maintain population. Unless the fertility rate can increase above 2.1, math alone dictates the US requires immigrants to sustain and/or grow the population. When this is broken down further looking only at certain types of people to perform certain types of jobs, like a desire for people with higher IQ's and potential, the problem is exacerbated...

If the US provided a reasonable path to obtaining a green card or citizenship, there will be fewer illegals.

You might guess things are different today...it is common sense that if green card and citizenship applicants were better processed fewer will consider coming in as illegals...

Everything "comes up". Give me a freaking break. Republicans have been riding on the Reagan excuse for DECADES!!! When the heck are they going to decide to actually DO something rather than just using their fabricated story as a campaign dog whistle.

The FACT is that congress created a very good BIPARTISAN immigration reform bill in 2013, and it passed the Senate and would have passed the House if Boehner hadn't blocked it.

There is NOTHING that has changed to make that bill inapplicable TODAY - outside of inflation, perhaps. So maybe the $40 billion allocated for the southern border would need to be increased.

You just continue to make my point with every biased reply you post ;) So it's Reagans fault the democrat house failed to fund their parts to the amnesty bill LMAO :)

ONCE again! You are not going to get any co-op on any bill that has amnesty or pathway until the old Guard are replaced by folks that no longer know how underhanded the Left is.. And to be frank, the way they continue to present themselves today only further alienates them from the Republican party! Immigration is a dead issue, why you insist on crowing about it is a waste of finger skin, move on and stop moaning about it ;)
