The truth of the matter is that the U.S. needs immigration to continue to go forward and grow. Here are three articles that make that point.

So with all this data in mind, tell me why you want to stop immigration

A majority of Americans evidently voted for the moron who let the problem keep growing..... So that's a really low bar when you consider the average collective intelligence of the average American

That lie about the jobs they're not willing to work is a lie. Illegal immigrants take up many jobs in the construction industry and in restaurants and in many other industries where Americans commonly work.

Please don't try selling me that false bill of goods.

The reality at this time though, is that there are more jobs than people to fill them. We have record employment right now and the problem is that we do not have enough workers to fill the jobs. As such, "selling this bill of goods" right now is the right thing to do. Just imagine, if there were 30 million less people working at this time in the U.S. Where would we be?

And Slave owners said the exact same thing about the benefits of slave labor, just as every other supporter of cheap and easily abused labor has. Sweat shops anyone?

Yet, when that source of underpaid labor goes away, the jobs they had don’t go away. They become part of the competitive free market instead of skirting past the rules under the guise of better economics in place of morality, blissfully ignorant of the abuses that take place at every turn.

you might as well argue for all of the above named and throw in the same logic to support the great economics of drug cartels.

Construction work, especially commercial construction work with just a shovel is back-breaking hard work with little pay and no benefits. So, yes, an American would rather be a waiter/waitress at a casual restaurant than the construction field. However, there a person has qualified experience and certification to operate heavy machinery, which is about 10% of the total job force on a construction site, then yes, they will be American there because they are typically employees, not contractors, and have some benefits, etc.

Even in Alabama, they are having a hard time filling the jobs to do backbreaking farm work with little pay and no benefits to be filled by Americans only. That is why those small farmers are now willing to sell their land to developers to the highest bidder.

We don’t want to stop legal immigration. We oppose illegal immigration. It’s time that progressives understand the distinction.

I am not "arguing" anything. I am showing articles from respected institutions, like Brookins Institute. If you want to argue the point, contact them.

over 100,000 fentynol deaths, child prostitution, criminals deported and back in the country almost immediately. Tell me why you want MORE immigration.

Fact is, except for a few wackos, most folk have little problem with LEGAL immigration. The abuse of the asylum system, allowing people claiming asylum to "promise" to show up for a hearing in the future makes the system a travesty. We need to work on out LEGAL immigration system.
I recall back when Trump talked about s**t hole countries LW screamed like scalded cats; and yet now they want anyone showing up at the border claiming they come fro s**t hole country to be automatically admitted.

Any excuses for why they take so many restaurant jobs?

They take a lot more jobs than that.

Well here's a big problem: If immigrants are filling the jobs Americans do not want to do, what's going to happen when those immigrants have children? I have a feeling the children will not be content to do the jobs their parents did.

This is not sustainable and something has to change. This is like a giant pyramid scheme.

Oh, and who's going to take care of them all when they later get old? Because they barely earn enough to take care of themselves while they are in their working years.

In countries that don't have lots of immigration, these lower level jobs are typically filled by the very young and very old. The less desirable classes of workers. And in high standard of living countries that don't have much immigration, people typically do more things themselves.

With the popping of the education bubble, we are realizing that there won't be enough jobs for everyone at the top.

And you think letting anyone showing up at the border is going to help that?
You think people from central America are coming across the border with skills we need? Teachers, healthcare workers, technical experts?

Ummm, no, you do not get to say “The truth of the matter is that the U.S. needs immigration to continue to go forward and grow.” And then run and hide behind your sources when someone disagrees with your opinion.

You are not just the messenger here, you are a proponent of a specific position which is, apparently, that unregulated lawless anarchy on our borders is good because the more immigration the better. The only difference is you’re using someone else’s words to do your arguing for you.

You could well be the worlds worst debater.

I don't know but common sense would lead me to believe most of them do have jobs. After all, there is no shortage of jobs, is there?

You want the truth about immigration?
Most of them can't afford to be able to pay for their own healthcare or the costs for their children to attend public school.

How do we know? Because Trump tried to make immigrants be required to buy health insurance and Democrats opposed it.
(Even though Democrats tried just a few years earlier to push the exact same thing on Americans under "The Affordable Care Act")

Take your argument to the Americans that don't want to work those jobs and see what they say.

By the way and as far as what will happen in the future. We have plenty of space here and plenty of ability to take immigrants in. After all, India has 6 times more people than we do but only 1/3 the amount of territory and they are doing just fine.

In my opinion, Americans are worrying too much about the Immigration "crisis". It is NOT a crisis.

It's interesting that in other countries that don't have high levels of immigration, they manage to get along fine.

In Japan, old people work in the fields. Of course in the U.S., no employer would hire an elderly person. Migrant agricultural workers in the U.S. almost get treated like slaves, with the working conditions.

When you bring in lots of immigrant labor into an area, jobs that Americans formerly did get turned into "jobs that Americans don't want to do". Wages go down and working conditions worsen, because the desperate immigrants from poverty-ridden countries are willing to put up with conditions few Americans would.

Show me one single sentence in the OP I put up that has any opinion of mine in it.

I do have an opinion but it was not put in the OP and therefore this post of yours is ridiculous.

Very clever of you to not put the word "illegal" before any of your instances of "immigrant".
Show me where anyone wants to stop legal immigration.
I agree that we need it. I also agree that when its increasing exponentially (the illegal variety), thats a friggin problem!!
Why can't you guys admit it? I'll admit diversity is good if you can admit millions of poor people sucking up our tax dollars and getting more privilege than our poor citizens IS A PROBLEM
    legal immigration? Bring it on!

Look closely at Labor Force Participation rate. Much of Biden's "record low unemployment rate" is people bailing out of LFP.

I think you're assuming that all the vacant jobs are low skill slots; we're missing teachers, healthcare workers, STEM workers; most of which require advanced training and fluency in English.

I suggest you read the articles I submitted in their entirety. In those articles, it is shown that Immigrants follow the rules and laws of the U.S. better than Americans do. In fact, scan Google and ask if immigrants are any kind of an economic negative to the U.S. You will find DATA that shows that they are not.
