Actually, those pushing for "better health care" are helping make and keep people sick. Pharm companies enjoy record profits while Americans are fatter and sicker than ever.

Those who claim to care about violence don't want to discuss ways to reduce it; they blame guns and make laws that only apply to those who are not hurting others.

With some of the laws being considered, your claim may not be true.

Apparently, some believe the birth of a baby is no longer an indicator of human life. A baby born to an illegal alien in the US, may not actually be deemed human until some later point in time, therefore, they could not be considered a US Citizen.

 

Literally no one is arguing that, but keep lying about this law. It really helps lend credibility to the Conservative side of the argument.

Yep, no where in that quote does it say anything about a non-viable baby not being a human life. But just like when any other person’s life becomes non-viable and they are incapacitated and unable to make their own decisions about whether or not to remain on life support, the next of kin gets to make that choice.

 

Your example is not equal to the issue here. Someone who has become incapacitated is different from an unborn baby who may or may not be incapacitated.

It seems to me the time frame for when abortion is legal is being pushed to full term. I think that plays right into the hands of people opposed to abortion, and it pushes the boundaries of when the law protecting life applies.

I can't imagine a termination like this would happen so often that legislation is necessary to address it. Why then push for and promote such a controversial concept?

 

An non-viable baby with severe deformities would most definitely be legally incapacitated.

 

According to the law, all babies, whether deformed or not, are not considered to be able to protect themselves. That is why there are laws that do the protecting for them. A mother can't beat a child and claim the baby liked it.

My curiosity on this issue centers on the question of how the law would need to change regarding when life, and therefore, protections begin.

This legislation seems to push that envelope.

It is definitely worth looking into. There is already research out there that suggests it could cause autism.

 

That is absolutely disgusting. I have no idea why any Democrat ... scratch that ... why any human being could possibly support such a ghoulish policy. Apparently also part of this legislation is the complete removal of any acknowledgment of the legal term personhood when referring to the unborn human life. Previously if someone killed a pregnant lady they would be charged with two murders - now in Virginia it is only one murder.
