Fair point, but whites actually still are the most likely to have mixed marriages, even when looking at per capita rates.

It's been a while since I looked at the stats, but the most common mixed marriage in America is between a white man and an Asian woman (usually East Asian more specifically).

If I'm not mistaken, this is somewhat true of other white-majority nations.

This is also true for Australia. Many mixed marriages are Australian males and SE Asian females.

Things are a lot tougher these days after quite a few "mail order brides" from the Philippines. Older guys marrying much younger Filipinas, and because of our marriage laws were getting ripped off.

Wife visas are quite difficult to get these days and it's a long arduous process to get wife visas.

Having said that, I have two friends who married SE Asians, one a Thai, the other a Filipina. Both guys married in their late twenties to women around the same age. Both marriages have been very successful and have produced great children. One guy is now in his fifties, he other in his fourties.

I was in Houston on business, having a drink with coworker at his favorite watering hole. We were talking about the area and the very wealthy University section was mentioned. The Hispanic bartender chimed in, "not enough color there, too many all white people." My coworker commented, "Naw you would not want to do that to kids, make them grow up from mixed marriage when they could have the advantage of being all white. I don't think it would be fair for the children."

For a moment it looked like there might be trouble. Everyone was in check. I was speechless. This was Houston, not my native L. A.

My wife and I are leaning toward not having children, but we may adopt. I would have no objection to adopting a child of color IF their papers were in order. Still, I thought if given the choice between being born white, (as I am), or being born of mixed blood, what would I choose? Right off, just to think of this question resonates as disconcerting to me.

For me it came down to life is hard, and you need all the advantages you can get. I would chose white. If I was born with mixed blood, I would find a place to live where race would not hold my life back. I would not live in the United States. Perhaps South America or Europe. Brazil has always intrigued me.

For whatever reason, there seems to be a rather high percentage of Filipina women that are hot. Brazilians seem the same.

Reminds me of a joke. "I'm only half prejudiced." "I don't like black men, Japanese men, Chinese men, Mexican men, Laotian men!"

I spent 2 years in SE Asia. They do have some incredible women. So does America, England, France, Mexico, and every other place I've ever been.
The mestizos, of the Philippines are especially striking.
