Haha. I think voters shouldn't be able to vote if they can't name their representative and senators. When you say GOP elites, I immediately know you have a dogmatic, conditioned party loyalty. When GW was prez, federal government grew by 50%. Harry Truman, democrat dropped the bombs on Nagasaki and Hiroshima. Abraham Lincoln was the first republican president. There is significant push for a shift in power from federal government back to state and local.
Yeah. He doesn't do the "bow to foreign leaders" thing either: CHANGE! President-Elect Trump Meets With Japanese Leader – Doesn’t Bow
Yes, that is a lot of it alright. The other part is that the Democrats tried to force the worst possible candidate down the throats of the Democrats, and, in the end, 10 million of them simply didn't show up to vote for her. That was a huge F-you to the Dem establishment, just as much as Trump's primary victories and nomination were a huge F-you to the Republican establishment. I see Trump as an independent in Republican clothing. His election shows that an independent can win.
A couple of months ago they did a skit with Alec Baldwin as Trump (he nailed it) and a newer cast member as Hillary right after the hype about her health and collapsing... She came onto the stage and fell down and flipped all the way across it. That was funny. I imagine Alec Baldwin will be doing a lot of guest appearances as Trump. Daryl Hammond was a great Clinton and Will Ferral was the best GW. Omg, Will played Janet Reno after the Lewinsky scandal.... That was hilarious. Obama hasn't been good skit material. I have no doubt Trump will give Lorn Michaels plenty of material. The hair alone...haha I was in Stockbridge the other day for a friend's father's memorial. I would claw my eyes out if I had to drive on 75 and Henry County every day. Hudson Bridge. Worse than Atlanta. Gawd 85 S is heaven.
The DNC screwed their voters. They wanted Bernie. Don't know what shade got played, probably some blackmail...They alienated their voters big time. Ron Paul is a Libertarian that ran Republican. Thus far you have no chance if you don't run as a republican or democrat. The DNC screwed Bernie...I bet plenty of democrats voted for Trump out of spite.
Some Dems might have voted for Trump. But the statistics are showing - and this is what I think the difference was - that 9-10 million Democrats either didn't vote, or they voted third party. Trump received close to the same number of votes that McCain and Romney received against Obama, but Clinton received 9-10 million votes fewer than Obama got in those races. Since I don't think Republicans were voting for Obama, I think those "lost votes" that Clinton didn't get were Democrats who just wouldn't vote for her.
Democrats wanted Bernie Sanders. When the DNC alienated their constituents, they lost considerable support and votes.
What's surprising is that people like you and numerous pundits still don't get it. Bad public speakers and orators don't draw 30,000-40,000 people to their rallies and keep them focused for the duration of the rally. That's why he won. He was better than the others at addressing people's needs. As simple as that. A man of the people won. People got tired of quasi intellectuals and their empty talk.
Hahaha. Trump has had like five wives. Five wives. So would you say England is overall more pro/con Russia? Why?
Trump won because he told all the losers in America that their troubles are due to America's "enemies". All of America's haters have never before had a candidate of their very own so they turned out to vote for him. It's a tried and true strategy of dictators. I hope he doesn't continue on the historical development of this programme but I have little reason to think he won't
It was also due to liberal naivete. Some of us underestimated by how much conservatives would slander someone and s believed a portion of the calumnies about Hillary's "corruption". This resulted in a low Democratic turnout Liberals are sometimes naive just by the structure of their ideology, which tries to see the good in people. Conservatives expect people to be evil and are rarely disappointed, but by seeing the world as (*)(*)(*)(*)ty, they create a (*)(*)(*)(*)ty world
Who was Obama saying he would deport en masse, who was Obama saying should be denied entry to the country?
Perhaps this will enlighten you, http://www.politicalforum.com/showthread.php?t=485225&p=1066840641#post1066840641
If you really believe that, you're going to be very disappointed. The signs are already obvious, unless you're deliberatly trying to ignore them. If you voted for Trump because you're disgusted with both parties, then you should be disgusted with the parade of lobbyists, bankers, oil men ,and ex Bush Administration staffers who are streaming in and out of the Trump Tower. Something tells me that you're going to try and deny the obvious, thought. If you are truly and "Independent" or a "Libertarian", you should be appalled at the early signs that the Trump Administration will be all about influence peddling and a return to the kleptocracy of the Bush years. There is no evidence to support your claim that there are more independents on state ballots.
There making a toll road next to I75, They call it a Peach something where only those who have or pay for a Peach pass like they have on I-85 can travel on it. I take the back roads which is no problem getting around the area quite easily and faster. I rarely get onto I-75. SNL will be interesting. I agree that Trump will give them more than enough material.
I like most of what most Right of Center posters are saying, and I think that it is a blending of all of these reasons, in that something struck some voter hard enough to get him or her to vote for Trump against the nearly blanket opposition of the press, and it's unlikely to be the same reason applying to everyone across the board. For me it was definitely disgust at both parties; the Left having become the party (or at least that is true of their leadership) of nation-haters and the Right being controlled (no matter how the true Right fought against it happening) by innately corrupt 'go along to get along' RINOs. But then too the economy and the fact that it has been stagnant for most citizens for eight long years and the fact that we are over 20 trillion dollar deep in national debt and -- yes -- even the fact that Obama and company has got the entire middle east on the very edge of open and generalized warfare, played key roles in my decision. But for me, personally, it is the fact that almost all leftist policies and Political Correctness are aimed -- one way or the other -- at undermining or destroying the traditional western-based national culture that made it possible for the United States to grow into superpower status in the first place. But other voters voted for Trump for a variety of reasons.
True, but the Left also tried to make out that Barack Obama was a great orator and a Great Communicator until the first few times that his teleprompter cut out on him, and then even the left-dominated MSM couldn't make "Uh-Uh-Uh" comes across as anything other than the end results of Affirmative Action on public display.
Trump won on two simple issues. The economy and illegal immigration. Trump flipped one third of the counties that voted for Obama last election. People that have never voted before or had not voted for a long time came out to vote for Trump. Trump did better in almost every demographic than Romney did. The media did a disservice to Democrats. Like the elite they are concentrated in the liberal bastion's so ignore the rest of the country and gave their opinion that Hillary was a lock. Hillary voters were taken by surprise.
