So? You jumped into an exchange with a poster who though that that meant it was "independent" of the government. And you jumping in didn't make you look good. It looked as if you agreed with them. The lesson being: don't jump into a discussion if you don't know what it's about.

The funding mentioned in the post you quote IS funded by the Federal government AND tax payers.

    Read!!

Arguing against the wrong thing because you didn't read it is just a sign of poor attention span. But arguing against it when you actually just quoted it is what makes people look really foolish.

Apparently you knew what I was talking about. You indicated that the post office was funded by the US government. They are only incidentally. The implication of your statement was is wrong. You said "The only finances in this country are the finances of the people! They pay for all this! When the USPS is in financial trouble, the White House is in financial trouble, so is the Supreme Court, so is the prison system,... so is every single part of the federal government. Because the postal service IS the federal government. "

You statement above could also be applied to Walmart with just about as much validity.

The PO is supposed to be financially independent.

Oh please. (The only finances in this country are the finances of the people!) Yeah, right.

The post office is a for profit business. End of story

The post office receives NO TAX PAYER FUNDING. End of story

No amount of wishey washey claims of finances by the people changes anything.

To the address of a golf club that is not permitted to serve as residence to anybody. Therefore it's illegal. It's voter fraud.

That's a different topic that was already addressed in the appropriate thread.

Yes. This whole forum. This thread! You! I have proven you wrong so many times. Because I do research and you don't. And yet, you keep coming for more without the research. Right wingers would do so much better if they just kinda "assigned" each topic to somebody to research and defend their position in an informed way. Rather than just trying to participate in ALL the threads. Which ends up revealing that they don't know what they're talking about in ANY of them. Their only weapon is trying to find some way to twist words around, and coming up with strawman arguments and other fallacies, taking isolated paragraphs out of context and then trying to change the subject. What this does is simply undermine their own message.

When I participate in a serious discussion about a specific topic with somebody on the right (which has been becoming less and less frequent because of the shortage of serious posters on the right), you can be sure that I have spent more time researching than what I spend writting.

Exactly! When the USPS is in financial trouble. Like it is now! Where did you think the $25 billion in funds that the Board of Governors requested is coming from?

When the USPS is in financial trouble (check the post I'm responding to), the finances that cover it are the finances of the people! And they have to be covered. Because postal service HAS to be provided, no matter what. They can't just go into bankruptcy. They are not a for-profit business. They are not a government owned business, like Amtrak. They are a service to the American people that is enshrined in the Constitution. If they can cover their own costs.. great. But if they can't, the costs must be covered. By taxes! You cannot suspend services. Period!

That's what we've been talking about. Next time, pay attention! It will spare you from much embarrassment.

We can't vote in person because Covid=19 but we can sit next to each other on a crowded bus or train or get together with a thousand others and set fire to things.

The left wants 25 billion to help with mandated mail in voting.

Trump said no. So they won't get the requested 25 billion. I guess that shoots down your constitutional theories.

Every president in history has a claimed residence that is not the WH. What in the world do they teach people these days.

I said they US government does provide incidental help. However, they are supposed to be ran so that they are financially independent.

They have not got the $25 billion and, if passed, it will be some smaller amount. It is questionable that they will get it because the bill the democrats are trying to pass is loaded with other pork not related to the stimulus.

Disregard that is an old address. You should probably report Trump that he is violation of Florida law.

Democrats, tell me if Trump wins with mail in ballots, how many weeks will you allow votes to be counted to get the result you want, 25? However if Biden wins let me guess, no votes that came in after Nov 3rd should be counted. I get it.

What the hell? There is no "mandated" mail in voting.

You don't seem to grasp any of the topics discussed on this forum. But the worst part is that you don't understand them even after they have been explained to you. Read the OP!

It's a waste of time to debate with somebody who doesn't understand the most basic facts in the discussion. And you don't get many chances to project the image that you're a serious poster. You have very few left. Don't blow them!

I wouldn't know if we have that in Florida or not because I don't know what that means. If you mean that everybody who wants to vote by mail can vote by mail, they most certainly do.

Take your pick. Filling out your aged parents with Alzheimer's ballot for them would be a big opportunity for fraud with boomers parents in their eighties and older.

They can (not all of them have, so that part is false) claim residence... in a residence. Not in a Golf Club.

There are two possibilities. Either Mar-a-Lago is a Golf Club, in which case Trump has committed voter fraud; or it's a residence, in which case he has committed tax fraud. Residences pay higher taxes than golf clubs in Florida.

In either case Trump has committed a crime. Take your pick.

    Spoiler: it's both!

First off, Mar-a-lago is a resort, not a golf club. Its not golf course with a club house so your golf club theory doesn't work.

But you think people who own hotels and resorts aren't allowed to have their residence on property? Your imagination is running away with you for some reason as nobody but you has ever heard of such.

They have to request a mail-in ballot and get vetted for their eligibility. If eligibility in Florida is broad, so be it. It is still greatly more restrictive and controlled than mailing out ballots willy-nilly (universally and carte blanche) to every name and address on the voter registration list.

How about the tens of thousands of ballots mailed to assumed voters returned by the post office as undeliverable for starters.
