But it was and is still being used to portray Bush as the devil.

Shelters are very easy to construct in ANY terrain, but they come at a cost no matter what the layout is.

Personally, I don't think there is much you can do to guarantee the safety of the students unfortunately, but it doesn't change the fact that you wish you could have...

The whole state of Oklahoma is a tornadic event prone area.

And the geography got in their way. New Orleans is surrounded by swamp or water on all sides.

The G should pay for it. How many billions or trillions have we blown around the world in the last 10 years?
But we make excuses why our children are not as safe as can be.

So lib logic says...let's build the school in the same place and bet the lives of the kids that it will never happen again.

Maybe they should have paid the teachers a little less and used the money to build a storm shelter for the children.

Okay. I am not sure I understand your complaint here. What is it you want the president to do?

It might sound offensive but I have a data to back this up. People who love their gunz and who thump their bible usually have lower intelligence.

There you go again... Lets not pay teachers at all, lets ask priests to teach the kids...

Come on now, you know as well as I do. Guns, god either alone or together means you are an ignorant fool to the liberals on here.

This outbreak had been predicted several days out. The schools should have closed early nor not even opened. That is what we do.

Really? I'd be more than willing to put my education and achievements up against yours any day.

Moore OK is only 3.5% African American.

New Orleans was about 70% African American so the liberal press was able to cite racism charges against Bush

where are the cries for the folks in Sandy Hook?

the press simply infers that black people need the govt to get things going but white folk can do it themselves.

Here in northern Alabama (which has more tornados than Oklahoma), no schools have been hit yet, but there have been several close calls. And the notion of digging underground shelters as part of new school foundations has been debated. As others point out, this isn't cheap. And the money that is spent building shelters is money not spent paying for teachers or textbooks or maintenance of the grounds. And the probability of needing those things is 100%, while the probability of being in the path of a tornado is quite small.

I think you are missing my point.
Blame was squarly put on Bush's shoulders about Katrina. How it was handled, how it is still being handled, how long it took to get help and how little help.

Good way to back down. You did the right thing.

Is that right.... I'd love to see this great data that you have to back up your claim.... Oh let me guess you have a "study" or a "survey".... Big freaking deal. How many intelligent people actually participate in the surveys or studies? They are usually stuck dealing with the outcasts that want attention any way they can get it.... Come on get real.... That was a stupid comment and you know it.
There are very intelligent people in this world that are both religious and gun owners... Don't bring your pile of horse dung in here and throw it around.

I can't disagree with the money that we spend on junk around the world, when yea we have things that would make our kids safer....

I just kind of think as sad as it is to say.... When its your time to go, it's your time to go.... Not trying to downplay it, just no other way to say it.

You evidently don't realize that teachers are among the lowest paid professionals in the country.... Could you support lowering someone's pay to below the poverty level.... (being sarcastic on that part) But really, there is already a huge shortage of GOOD teachers... Why would you want to make it even worst?

Yea... Studies are for idiots.... Stop talking, you prove my point. Don't you know the expression "Its better to be quiet and be thought of a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt." ?

Sad as it is to say, in a lot of areas that would have actually probably caused more people to die... The buildings they were in were built to withstand WAY more than most of the students homes.... (At least in MOST areas)

One could argue that it would have at least had them scattered out so it would have been less likely to have so many people trapped in such a small place, but even then who's to say....
    Sad thing really.

Wow....trying to squeeze gun rights into the tragic deaths of children......typical...while completely innapropriate.
