That presumes one is infected and contagious.

 

So assume no one is contagious until tested to be? Would you be okay with someone coughing towards you from three feet away without trying to cover up the cough?

 

Wearing a mask is like a Ziplock bag, it just keeps the bologna fresh until the virus finally gets around to consume it..

It does Eleuthera. However the problem with Covid-19 is that some people never even know they are infected but are quite capable to pass the virus on and the most infectious time appears to be at the beginning, the first five days I was hearing today. That could be wrong but it remains that people can pass on this virus before they have any symptoms. That is why people in the East who are used to these type of virus's did this from the beginning. It was one of the criteria which stopped South Korea from needing to have a lockdown. For whatever reason our governments chose to say that only infected people needed to wear them. Given we do not necessarily know when we are infected everyone needs to wear one. It is one of the strongest issues which would allow us to get back to our normal life without getting the RO over 1. What appears to have stopped Governments from encouraging this is simply they do not have the required masks. A good N95 will offer you a lot of protection but not stop you infecting so the best is a surgical mask. It does not necessarily stop you being infected but it does make it very hard for you to infect others. If everyone wore one of these, infections would be very small.

Wow you were never taught as a young child to cover your mouth when coughing by a parent, teacher, friend or a friggin movie WOW where did you grow up?

Well not me you didn't! I cover my mouth when I sneeze, cough or burp and I surely don't go around spitting I guess we were just raised differently and I may have been less impressionable to take on bad habits from nasty people like some neglected children do

 

New rules. Make sure the selfish folks get sick quicker and take them out of commission, before they take the unselfish ones out in another three weeks. You like giving, I will give back.

 

Been wearing masks in public outings since early February. I couldn't get N95s so I'm using mass produced cotton masks combined with my DIY additions of extra layers of cotton, silk, and polyester-spandex chiffon that I tape to my face under the mask just to get the best filtration and seal I can. Its not comfortable, its not the easiest to breathe out of, undoubtedly it has its effective limits, but I'll be damned if I'm going to be one of these selfish and/or ignorant aholes who wont even try to do their part in protecting themselves, their family, and their community.

I think you misunderstand the difference in you and I.. I cover my mouth when coughing, sneezing and burping and I certainly don't indulge in vulgar spitting like the migrant workers did when I was growing up in NoCal!
