I never said it wasn’t law, I said justification of law using the reasoning of “it’s the law” is absurd.
States are trying to change it and republicans are losing their **** over it.

How did everyone agree to abide by a law that was written over two millennia ago? I wasn’t aware people were that old. Have some examples?

People absolutely have the right to complain when their voice or vote is lessened, the people from such a system surely are not going to be the one complaining. Do you apply such ridiculous metrics to everything? ‘Only the winners can complain’, really?

It is a statement that stands on its on, nothing else was implied. If you (general you, not specific) cannot discuss what is being said but must resort to assuming strawman arguments then you don’t have a basis for discussion.

If you've voted in any U.S. Election in you're entire life, you've agreed to system that we currently have.

As for what is the fuss is about; I can only assume the fuss has to deal with a very vocal minority of people who are upset that they haven't gotten their way.

In unrelated news, the OP still has yet to answer how the EC is broken.

All I'm telling you is what someone can reasonably infer from reading your statement.

I'll respond to what's relevant to me, and you'll like it - your post is linked to, and anyone who wants to see the context, can.

    How so?
I never even mentioned Clinton nor did I say that our elections were not based on fptp.

So the only way you can respond to something is by distorting the point made.

Your integrity isn’t in question anymore at least. So you have that wight lifted off you.

Btw, there’s only a few things you could do that I would ‘like’, and editing quotes to suit your narrative isn’t one of them.

Personally, I think both major parties are out of touch for middle America. I don't mean geographically, I mean ideology wise. The Republicans keep moving to the far right, the Democrats to the far left leaving middle America with no political party to call their own or home.

Both major parties have been shrinking. Independents rising. Here's Pew Research which takes political party affiliation up to 2014. Republicans pretty much stuck at 30% or below, the Democrats shrinking form a high of 51% in 1961 and 1964 down to 32% in 2014.

    https://www.people-press.org/interactives/party-id-trend/

As of 16 Jun 2019 Gallup puts party affiliation at 27% Democrat, 26% Republican, 46% independent. I think this shows both parties have lost total touch with America as a whole.

    Relax. Nobody said you did.

Again, there is only justification in your mind, and the system is only flawed in your mind. Some people (or states) tried to change it, but they're in the tiny minority of states. You need to take the good and the bad of living in a democracy; not everyone will necessarily agree with you.

By participating in the peaceful transition of power every 4 - 8 years, you have agreed to abide by this practice. Every 4 - 8 years, citizens vote on their state electors. Every 4 - 8 years, state Electoral pledge to allocate their electoral votes to the winning of the U.S. election. There is nothing legally binding them to do so.

Everyone can complain if they want to. But you participating in a flawed practice means you take whatever comes with it, regardless of the consequences.

You reference the 2016 election and inferred that most of the nation wasn't for Trump. Who were Trump's opponents in the general election?

Really? Chess claims to be even vaguely democratic like that?

And, yes, the system is set up such that candidates don't even care if they represent the majority of the population!

That's an indicator that it IS a systemic problem.

This is just plain ridiculous. Having reasonably equal representation of our population is an improvement over the ridiculous piece of junk we have today. And, suggesting that fixing that would cause me problems in retaining my property is crazy enough, let alone that other nonsense

I think you should remember that America IS urban. So, having a majority of urban representation is EXACTLY what we should have. Do you really think people in our cities don't care about FOOD?

When you think you can demonstrate how I distorted any of your points, let us know.
    M'kay? Thanks.

Sure, we can start with classifying it as a strawman fallacy

I’m good here, but I will work to make us a democracy.

Thanks for the advice though, I will keep it in a special place.

You claim I distort you posts, and respond to my challenge to demonstrate how I distorted your posts by claiming a straw-man.

    Too funny.

You distorted it by taking it out of context as I have previously indicated and also by creating an argument that I didn’t not make due to your distortion of said context.

Sorry this is so difficult for you

I agree completely. I think both sides are insane.

I hope the independents can gather up enough unity to form a coherent platform which seems to be lacking. I know I would vote every election for someone who actually believes in equality and fiscal responsibility over the two teams we have now

That would be true if I did not cite our post, where the reader can see the context, if it is not obvious.
So, again, when you think you can demonstrate how I distorted any of your points, let us know.
Sorry this is so hard for you.

You and me both my friend. I'm sick and tired of both major parties, all their ultra partisanship which has led to polarization and a very divided country.

Do I have to post a map that shows the counties Trump won? Outside the big cities such as Philly, Trump won big time. If there weren't so many uneducated, low information voters in the big cities Democrats would go extinct.
