A straightforward question: Why do some of you think Trump is not "legitimate"?

Weren't you so upset when filthy Harry Reid made up things about Romney and his taxes? I bet not!

 

He won, but did he win fair & square-NOPE----Reality is,there are investigations under way---you don't know any more than I do what Intelligence has because it is classified---that's the reality-----
Don't particularly care what you keep opining-----the numbers don't add up & every time we turn around in the last couple months, more & more people are scratching their heads about the numbers-those pesky numbers---if something does not make sense--there is a reason----

Really? How many Senators and Congressmen stayed away from each of his inaugurations/ How many celebrities refused to perform at his galasbecause they didn't share the same politics?

 

The responses so far have been better in quality and quantity than I had expected. I'm going to continue my silence and not try to contaminate the discussion in any way with my own subjective interpretations or rebuttals -- for a while longer.

I salute all of you members of this Forum for your participation, perhaps mostly those of you on the Left. I know that many of you dislike Trump, and some of you positively hate the man -- but, to the extent that you root yourselves firmly in the language of the Constitution, you are on solid ground in commenting on the legitimacy of his election.

I know that all of us here, as a group, have widely ranging opinions about Donald Trump himself, but I think we're gaining valuable perspective into why some think that his election was, or may-have-been "illegitimate", but others do not. Please continue.

 

How many presidents go on a Twitter tirade at 3:00am in the morning?
How many lies has Trump told already?
How many presidents were puppets for a hostile foreign regime?
How many presidents insult people on a daily basis?

Divisive, corrupt, and generally incompent; those will be the hallmarks of a Trump Regime.

Times change, the press can't be trusted after the revelation of the DNC emails . So what did you guys expect when you got caught with your hands in the cookie jar.

Like I said I don't have proof ---it is not exactly ballot tampering in the sense most would understand it to be-it is hard to articulate as I am not computer savvy enough to even describe any of the words one would use---
I just find it not a coincidence that somehow or another someone hacked "VAN" our data processing system set up by the OBAMA campaign early on in the campaign-the mystery's starts from there--
Then there were 2 more that I know of mysterious blackouts-that no-one yet has been able to figure out-one was the goggle blackout for 3 days---coincidence,who knows--
then just recently during the hearings of some of trump's cabinets---2 blackouts, plus C-Span went off the air & replaced by Russia tv---coincidence-who knows--
I have complete faith in our "VAN" system & also complete faith in Nate Silver----I'm telling ya----something stinks----

The lefties just can't get these types of responses out of their system. 8 years of blaming anybody and everybody but themselves has taken it's toll on your ability to address and/or answer a simple question.

The definition of the word "legitimate", matters in making sense of what some and others might be saying.

Provided that the no laws were broken within the electoral process, Trump is 'legitimate'; otherwise... he isn't, or won't be. There are some factors or developments which could bring that legitimacy into question and into the courts, legally speaking. It can happen.

Now, if the word "legitimate" is being applied by people according to other definitions above... then of course it isn't difficult to understand why one might certainly refer to Trump as being illegitimate.

To me personally, Trump legally holds the title or Office of POTUS... but in true 'essence' (of character or ability) is no President in my view. Therefore, NOT "legitimate" in the sense that his character/actions are so often outside of established rules, principles, or standards (see definition #2).

So, while he may surely hold the title legally... I and many others cannot accept him as President in other aspects. I cannot help viewing him as being a terrible human being overall.

I do not know who you are calling a Russian spy but for a person to even make a statement like you just did, you would first have to know that he really is a Russian spy ...... and then actually know if a Russian spy is less qualified than Pence. ---you know neither

Was he absent for Reagan? GHWBush? Clinton? I didn't know that. And I doubt it.

 

Hypocrisy would say that, plus that Obama was a "do nothing" president, that he has been an embarrassment to the US, lacks intelligence, plays golf too much, wasn't responsible for the decision to kill bin Laden, and on and on.

 

You better be ready for his presidency then as it starts in less than 3 days. Cause the all American liberal meltdown (including here on PF) is actually worsening

 

Nah, in all fairness he did do a few things. Other than bin Laden, pretty much all else was spectacular failure. His signature Obamacare, the Iran nuclear deal (making Iran nuclear in 10 years), his policies in the Middle East, Syria, Libya, Egypt, Israel, Palestine, ISIS, Brexit, his policies vis a vis Russia just to name a few. He's a miserable failure.
