If the Republicans nominate Trump in 2024, all the Democrats need to do is dump Biden, and they will be sure to win.

Care to discuss? I think I’m right.

I don't understand why they wouldn't win regardless if Biden is on the ticket or not. You seem to think Biden is a handicap to the Democrats chance of winning. People who are voting for Biden are not voting for him because they think he's a dynamic, articulate, charismatic leader. They vote for him because he's a tool for the Democratic policies they want. Just like Fetterman, who literally couldn't speak a complete sentence in his own debate.

I am thinking more like Biden won because he was not Trump. Most Americans are not that ideological. Many of them vote Democrat or Republican because their parents voted that way.

If Biden is the nominee, some might just vote against him, even if they voted against Trump in 2020.

    1. Ukraine needs to win.
    2. Stop the economic death spiral.

Without those two, Biden's gonna have a rough time.

Democrats are lock-step. I doubt you'll find "alternative" candidates to Biden.

Personally, I would like it if both candidates changed.

It's true that most people aren't political, however they can take social cues. Even a very surface level grazing of pop culture, academia, and the media will tell you Republicans are racist nazi's and the Democrats care about people. Whose side do you want to be on? The Nazi's (I mean unless you're Canadian of course)?

Yes, I remember when I worked at the phone company in 1980. One of the secretaries voiced the opinion that it hurt to have to vote for Reagan, but Carter so bad, she had to do it. The natural place for many voters is Democrat, probably since FDR. Before that, the lean for president was for the GOP. The Democrats won four of 18 presidential elections between 1860 and 1932. The Republicans ran a crook, James G. Blaine in 1884, and Teddy Roosevelt divided the Republicans in 1912. That opened the door for Grover Cleveland and Woodrow Wilson respectively.

the swing States are the issue, dems need those votes more than anything, so the pick has to not be far left, but I agree, if they did that, would have it in the bag

I do not get why either side wants their two elderly old men to be our candidates

Biden got my anti-Trump vote in 2020, sure many did the same

There is a conspiracy among some Republicans that Barack Obama is the shadow president behind Biden. The thought is John Pedesta and one other is running the Biden administration. The thought is it will give Obama a fourth term if Biden is re-elected. Biden is nothing but an empty suit that is an electable placeholder for Obama.

I didn't originate this stuff; I am only reporting it. One thing for certain. Biden is not running the show. They can barely push him out on stage these days.

Believe it or not, Biden is probably actually their strongest candidate atm. Kamala and Gavin just aren't as well known or liked.

Hence why the Uniparty are holding a separate "Gavin! vs Ron!" debate in Georgia, courtesy of the Sea Island 'Elites'. That will boost Gavin's national profile, and Ron! will look silly on the debate stage against him if he continues peddling his lies about his COVID response and continues shouting "WOKE WOKE WOKE" instead of addressing the issues that people are actually concerned about.

DeSantis is not my first choice, but you just wrote some BS there. I lived in Florida and know what DeSantis did.

Well that was then, this is now. The last Republican to win the popular vote for President was Bush, in 2004; and that was in the aftermath of 9/11.

You tell me. You were not going to vote for the younger Trump in any case, but you are going to vote for the decrepit Biden.

Due to the way the party operates they never give anyone sunlight, so you end up with midgets.
They have no one with a national following that Manchin (Who drives a Maserati), Bernie Sanders, and a couple of others.
Plus, the clock is ticking and they are way behind the curve.

Do you deny that he closed down some beaches? He says that he didn't.

Do you deny that he followed the advice of Fauci, Birx, etc? He now pretends that he didn't.

Right, you are going to vote for the older, more senile candidate. So I'm not sure why you are complaining about elderly candidates since you are on team dementia.

I won't be voting for either man. Ideally it would instead be a situation where I wasn't writing in either man because neither are even on the ballot.

If it is Biden/Trump, I'm not sure who I'll write in yet. In 2020 it was Tulsi Gabbard, but she campaigned for Kari Lake and by extension the whole Trump stolen election dumbassery, so she's not going to make the cut again.

Maybe I'll write in whichever of the more moderate Republican candidates I like the best. The Democrats have basically no one I can think of right now that I'd vote for outside of Manchin.

A lot of Democrats agree with you: Majority of likely Democratic voters say party should ditch Biden, poll shows

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/sep/07/joe-biden-poll-2024-election-democrats

And: Top Democrats’ Bullishness on Biden 2024 Collides With Voters’ Worries

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/top-democrats-bullishness-biden-2024-142012654.html

But it’s not only Biden, it’s Trump also: Poll: Overwhelming majorities express concerns about Biden, Trump ahead of 2024 race

    https://www.yahoo.com/news/poll-overwhelming-majorities-express-concerns-150000612.html

The bottom line is this rematch is something most American don’t want and perhaps may not want anything to do with it.
