I am watching a video right now that asserts that the Prophet Elijah is actually supposed to come in 2017?! This is actually quite well done... but my first response to this would be to remember that the "least Christian" is supposed to attain a level of faith, wisdom, power and love even beyond that of John the Baptist! Matthew 11:11 "Verily I say unto you, Among them that are born of women there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding he that is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he." Luke 7:28 "For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he." I have heard that Matthew was the gospel to the Jews.... and Luke the Gospel to Gentiles...... so I believe that this means that this principle applies to all Christians, Messianic Jews and Messianic Gentiles...... The residents of Jerusalem on the other hand have a similar... but somewhat different promise: Zechariah 12:8 "In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them." King David was certainly similar to John the Baptist.... he did an astonishing job of setting up his son King Solomon..... similar to how John the Baptist focused the attention of his disciples on Rabbi Yeshua / Jesus..... but there are differences in the calling and burden of the L-rd that G-d puts on different groups of people. ELIJAH Comes 2017, Hebrew Year 5777, Jubilee!
