I am sorry you are afraid but that is not my responsibility. If there is anything I said which you can dispute then feel free to go ahead. That is what this forum is for.

There are loads of articles on this. Here is one more

    https://www.theguardian.com/politic...-ukip-breaking-point-poster-queue-of-migrants

Britain had of course an agreement with the EU that we were not going to take any of the refugees fleeing into Europe but would only take 20,000 carefully selected from camps over a period of four or five years.

And Britain have not even come close to reaching that agreed figure - I think that 5000 or so have been taken in. And due to Brexit, there is now no incentive for the rest of the EU to hinder any refugees trying to enter the UK from the EU.

Very true. I do not remember hearing of all the boat people until very recently.

Yes, I did realise Varoufakis was a leading light in DiEM25. I like him. And I wish him and DiEM25 luck in democratising the EU. I think it's going to be exceptionally tough to achieve due to the cloaked origins and powerful sponsors that have guided the USE project since its inception during the Willy Brandt (the Beard) days.

I also think his idea said to Corbyn in the Edinburgh Book Festival get together - that Britain should choose a Norway plus model to give it breathing space for five years makes good sense. However, as we've both said the EU is determined to ensure that the UK is heavily and publicly punished for wanting to leave so as to ensure other EU nations do not follow suit. This is a stupid and short-sighted policy that may well backfire in the coming years. But bully-boys are the very last ones to observe their own shadows.

Like they would anyway! France has been paying migrants to cross the Channel and come here for years.

Well they are making moves. He and Srećko Horvat are standing for the EU Parliament next year

    https://diem25.org/yanis-varoufakis...-in-next-years-european-elections-in-germany/

and of course he has been involved in trying to share ideas and get mutual support between left wing people, for instance Corbyn Labour, Sanders and the new President of Mexico.

I watched that video and yes, I agree he suggested the Norway plus though Corbyn seemed non committal on that. That is where they also spoke of getting an International Alliance and of the US's history of destroying Socialist Politicians and Varoufakis made the point that they could not forget the possibility that that could even happen to them and they must keep a close eye on each other. I noticed the President of Mexico has not accepted the US replacement to the elected one in Venezuela.

I am not sure how heavy the EU wants to be. If what I heard and said was ott is true then that would be so but a lot more just seems the craziness of the Leave Campaign. If you were to check out the video I left last night he believes that the EU never believed we would go for a Hard Brexit because it would be so destructive towards us.They did however like the idea of humiliating the UK the EU seemingly believing that that would be a good deterrent to others. They were not intending on making it easy for us but there again what do you expect. The Leave Campaign wanted to leave and have as good conditions as they had while within the EU. It was never going to be as they were saying during the Campaign be as easy as pie. I think the Leave's biggest mistake was believing they had more power than the EU!! Totally crazy mistake. The video also points out how many different concepts of Leave there were among the Leave Campaigners, how many of them were for a Norway type deal though once May took over it all went towards the Hard Brexiters and being as difficult as possible and refusing to even put at ease the future of those from the EU already in the UK. They ought to have known the EU would not make it easy for them but their arrogance or lies made them believe whatever they wanted was theirs for the taking/because they were the powerful UK. ;) He talks about how they say a Norway style deal is not Brexit and how ridiculous it is to think Norway is in the EU and also, and I have heard this said a number of times why a lot of the reason it has gone as it has gone is because May is totally against immigration. I believe there is some sort of history about that but I have not found it and in any case it makes no sense as we have simply changed to immigrants from the Commonwealth instead of the EU. We do need them.

So how else do you think they can buy motorised inflatables to cross, then abandon them on the beaches, or pay traffickers £3 or £4K a throw to get them here? You think they left their countries of origin carrying that much in their back pockets?

Same old same, dire straits ahead and all that. All the predictions from the very start never materialised and in fact, the opposite happened. Also, you have to assume people are interested in the economy/finances, whereas, how many are more interested in such things as sovereignty.

I hope holidays get so inconvenient and expensive in Europe that most Brits will holiday in the UK, boosting jobs. I also hope manufacturing begins to take off and over the years, trade deals with other countries are negotiated. If things get expensive, excellent, maybe people will buy wise, bin less and thus reduce the throw away society that we've become; up shot is, helps to reduce global warming! Win win.

They will/are coming back because the cost of living in the likes of Spain. It's to do with the cost of currency. So more housing here needed, more construction jobs for school leavers. Win win.

Not really. These tend to be disproportionately retirees which means that they will place even more stress on the already straining NHS and other public services while being comparatively economically inactive. We want and need young people in their 20s and 30s to work long term, not retirees who are going to pop their clogs in a couple of decades having soaked up all kinds of services.

If they also require housing then this will place even more strain on a system where the constraints are availability of land and the house builders sitting on huge land banks. The NIMBYs are also hardly going to be happy.

Most of Remain's forecasts related to the post-Brexit scenario - that hasn't happened yet.

Airbus have just stated that they will relocate to Europe if a no deal goes through. And their biggest sites are in Welsh towns that voted 56% out - A saying that includes the words "coming home to roost" seems apt here.

No, they absolutely do not. 90% of the costs to the NHS come in the last few years of someone's life. Pensioners are an enormous financial drain on the country, especially in view of the "triple lock" which has state pension costs spiralling out of control.

They've probably paid more in taxes in their life time than you can dream of.
