After Trump becomes President I hope he directs the FBI to open investigations on every one of these corrupted electors to dig up any dirt whatsoever.

If they have so much as an unpaid parking ticket there should be federal charges.

If these whining infantile traitors want a fight then they should get one.

Furthermore they should all be stripped of their position as electors on the grounds that they were stupid enough to fall for this fake news conspiracy theory nonsense over Russian involvement.

How can people at that level be so dumb?

Seriously, how are they this retarded?

There is no proof for this Russian conspiracy theory.

    NONE!

Even this magical report we've been hearing about doesn't exist.

But somehow these idiots have been duped into believing that a bogus report which only ever claimed a DNC breach had indications of Russian origin now somehow means that Russia changed the election.

Its utter stupidity and we cant have people like that in any position of responsibility if they are so easily fooled.

Thanks for the correction. I do not have a perfect memory. Forgive that and I plead my age of 78.

Still, notice who selected the judge in Colorado that swatted down the electors.

    U.S. District Judge Wiley Daniel

Now study his face. Why would he support republicans?

    No what?

I don't recall saying a word about Californiasn or New Yorkers. Do you?

How is about 3 million more Americans voting for Clinton over Trump giving Democrats the middle finger in your view?

You sound like my father (retired infantry Major). He threw things and yelled when president Obama was elected. He can't stand Obama.

I was 17 at the time and I said to him "Well I guess he's not in charge of you."

His reply? "He's my commander and chief and I'll defend his life and this country to the death."

His words and the serious tone in which he said them had a big impact on me and how I think about our government.

I appreciate you posting what you did. It's good to hear after seeing all those protestors chanting "not my president."

I don't think it will make any difference beyond the symbolic, or even that it would be a wise move, but it is absolutely hilarious to see all of the Trumpeters that were praising the genius of the electoral college system a few weeks ago suddenly change their tune.

The electors aren't known until after the election. Each state party chooses its slate of potential electors before the election. The party with the most popular votes in a state then gets to send it's chosen slate of electors to the electoral college on December 19th.
That's why it's so hard to change the votes of electors. If a state goes red it means republican electors go to the electoral college. They're not going to be sympathetic to the democrats.

No, the EC was set up so that a group of smaller, less populous states don't get steamrolled by a small number of large ones. Different states have different interests, and ALL get a voice.

No problem. I like using information I gained from Google to correct those wiser than me. It's helps build my ego :)

Your question is rhetorical I assume but I'm going to answer anyway.
Because he's fair and the law was on the republicans side.

powerful show of force, more like a fart in a hurricane. A few Clinton electors in blue states that the news media can get all breathless over is all

There inherent concept of the system is perfect given the fact that its easier for parties to focus efforts in indoctrinating and controlling smaller territories, territories which can be incredibly dense in population, thus allowing the concerted efforts of local government, education, various local/State boards, and other coordination, to achieve maximum conversion to their party at a scale which outperforms entire regions of the nation due to said population density.

Although, the option for electors to not vote for who wins their State is a flaw that needs to be solved.

Some of these electors have actually been duped by the media's Russian conspiracy theory and the outright fabrication of "fake news" surrounding it and now they're going to vote based off that rather than based off the Constitutional process of the electoral system.

I think we keep the system in place but we remove the human element of the electoral votes system; whichever candidate wins the popular vote for that State is automatically awarded its electoral votes.

The human element is the flaw here.

Not true. If that were they case they'd set the EC up so that each state had the same number of votes, as in the case with the Senate.

Where California has 55 electors and and, for example, Montana has 3, that doesn't reflect an attempt balance out smaller states with larger ones.

No. lol .... not at all.

Not an attempt to balance, merely an attempt to offer some voice. The balance part comes in the Senate, which was initially (and IMHO still should) represented the State itself, and not it individual Citizens.

    Checks and Balances.
    Checks and Balances.

You are working under the assumption that the electoral college was always intended, from the beginning, as a winner-take-all-per-state system. I don't think there is any evidence that this was the original intent.

The original intent was to leave the procedure for selecting the electors up to the states.
As such, the original intent is being followed.

Then why all of the talk from Trumpeters about a revolt if things were to not turn out their way?

Trump will win the EC and take office on Jan 20 2017.
    Fret not.

The grumbling about "revolt" from the right is in response to post-election nonsense from Hillary supporters who cannot stand the fact they lost and their attempts to change the outcome of the election.

The current allocation of 306/232 electors reflects the will of the people; if the December 19 EC vote does mot follow this, the will of the people has been violated.

Certainly you do not want to see that.
