I think Pants will admit it would be harder.

Because, as the sawing demonstrated, structurally the wall is weak. And though a saw is loud, border patrol will not be able to hear a chainsaw from 1,000 miles away. A Guatemalan boy can easily fit through a hole in the wall. We need to reopen the govt, the Republicans even want to do that, then talk about the wall. It's not exaggerating to say Trump is holding federal workers hostage on this issue. Schumer already came to the table with a proposal for Trump, protect Dreamers and Trump gets funding for his wall. So yes, we have tried finding a compromise.

Real national security risks need addressed. When TSA can't do their jobs properly, like I saw an article this morning that an Alabama man got a gun past security (so bad apples are taking advantage of this) onto a plane, it is not worth putting lives at risk for a concrete barrier.

So let's make this an easy question that I have a feeling you will deflect from:

Would having a massive border wall make it easier, or harder, for illegal aliens to enter the United States?

    Only 30 feet ???

The Pope has a 40 foot wall protecting the Vatican.

    A tad more difficult yes.

But hove you thought through tunnels, or transportation by vehicle. Possibly by plane as well. Many ways to get around walls.

So it would make it more difficult for illegal entry?

    Ok, thank you.

Well of course it makes it much harder if my house were completely entirely surrounded by 30' walls. But that isn't a reasonable comparison. The wall won't completely block the entire border. Why not invest that money in technology and more patrol to ensure more of the border is secured?

Ah... the old "if its not 100% effective it's not worth doing" fallacy.

It falls on the Senate to override MAGA's veto and restore government operation. Enough of this nonsense.

I 100% agree with you. As I've stated on numerous occasions, I'm not a big fan of a wall. I'd rather we punish companies harshly that hire illegal aliens, invest a lot more to stop illegal aliens from receiving ANY benefits (yes, they receive a ton of benefits illegally) and would love to see more drones in the sky using imagery to catch invaders.

However, the Bush/Obama approach hasn't done us any good.

Deporting illegal aliens does no good if they have a reason to come back

To be fair to MAGA, this doesn't all come down to just him. The fact that so many Republicans support him even now is indicative of a much greater problem, namely that of the country being divided into ideological factions and the Republican faction being so badly deluded and having such backwards priorities. The Republican faction is informed by Faux and fake news, commentators there and outside of those organizations (such as Limbaugh), and of course by Republican politicians. All of these sources tell the little people what to think, what to believe, what to support and what not to support. MAGA fits into this model very nicely, because these Republicans had already been seeking a demagogue, a strong man leader, to lead the country according to their vision. MAGA's fault is, among a few others, being the right sort of narcissist and demagogue by nature to take on that mantle.

Right now, every Senate Republican who supports MAGA in this madness shares very much in the fault, because these Republicans have the power to speak out, act, and make a difference. The powerless Republicans - the disinformed voting public - bear fault, but only for being water-carrying cultish followers.

As I am neither bigoted nor partisan, that cannot be the case. Mine is an independent, reasoned view. Something you would not understand from your bigoted, hyper-partisan perspective.

America can't afford out government now, but Democrats and establishment Republicans have no problem screwing over our children and grandchildren with massive debt.
