Lopez and all the other liberals who hate the wall are full of bs

Where were they 3 yesrs ago when trump took up the issue that no swamp rat in washington was talking about?

Suddenly the lib know-it-alls are full big ideas but they are too late

We are tired of promises that dsappear after the election

Yeah, scapegoat the poorest yet again. How right-wing of you.
Those 'remitances' come from the employers who hire illegal immigrants.
Put them in jail, fine their companies and put the onus on American law breakers rather than demonize the poor souls who work in fear for slave wages doing work Americans consider beneath them.
And then watch the American economy grind to a halt as a result of an idiot's demagoguery.

Would you be in favor of granting Employers Immigration Agent status?

So you are supporting all internet sales, private and commercial, to be taxed at 10% too?

Loosely attached to reality that. 99% of the bombs have been Russian and Syrian.
The Jury didn't think it was illegal. Dude was acquitted.

    Let's explore this.

How many people are in the country illegally and working, who would be affected? 10million? I have no idea, but it's a whole lot.

If we started a mass jailing of those employers, and it had the effect of removing the ability,of the affected illegal workers, to work at a job, what would they be forced to do? This is the problem with E-Verify.

We simply must stop the inflow, before we can deal with those who are already here.

"We're not the only idjuts" isn't a high powered defence. Its consistent with "you're at fault for our imperialism" mind you...

Bingo!!!! Been saying this for years now. Go after the employers hard. They will stop hiring illegals. No jobs, no reason to come here. Far more effective than any wall and much less cost to us taxpayers. But of course politicians on both sides will never do this as they don’t really care about stopping illegals from coming here. Sure, the pols on the right talk a good game but anyone with a brain knows they are full of ****

    Bingo! We have a winner.
That's why we need the whole package. Comprehensive immigration reform.
Those 11 million are integrated into our society, it's the next 11 million we need to be thinking about.
Back to the gang of 8 legislation. But that is way to complex for Trump. He just wants a campaign slogan.

The immigrants aren't stupid? Perhaps not, because they seem to know we are. As so often happens, some numbskull tries to blame a fringe element for the core issue. It's like blaming a rape victim for looking attractive; if they had been ugly- they wouldn't have been raped, so jail the bitch instead of the rapist. That is the thinking of very small and limited minds.

The problem doesn't start when they lie to get a job, and I assure you they DO NOT note that they are illegal aliens when they apply. It is the government's job to maintain the border- not some employer in the middle of the country. The problem is not that they take a job, it is that they enter illegally, and we do have work-visa systems. It makes no difference if they want to be here because of a job or because there are nicer cars to steal or wealthier people to take advantage of- it is that they knowingly and willingly break the law and violate our border to do it.

We could make remittances illegal. According to you, that is a cause. Why not? Mexico is pulling $26 billion dollars a year out of the US economy that won't be coming back- usually the top source of income coming into Mexico. That number is the same as the cost of the wall. So, why not tax remittances by 10% ($2.6 billion annually), start wall construction, and the remittances would pay the bill.

The wall isn't about ending immigration- it's about controlling it so we know who we are bringing into our society. People with a bale of drugs on their back, gang members, people with criminal records and prior deportations are certainly not going to go to the ports of entry, they are going to cross illegally. Are they looking for a better life? Sure. So are bank robbers. WHO comes in matters- a very great deal.

Democrats control the House in Congress.

There are more Democrats from California in the House than any other state.

If the Democrats tax cow farts in California why not remittances going to Mexico and other shithole countries ?

That's up for Congress to decide. Not the President. Whoever made the meme you posted either doesn't understand the Constitution or was just hoping Trump supporters would re-post it to make them look bad.

I support bombing Silicon Valley and sending everyone at Google, Facebook, Apple, etc. to the gulag.

And keep adding methods of solution until the problem is a trickle, then a drip, then it's gone.

I'm in favor of granting employers the right to be arrested and hauled to jail for free if they hire illegal aliens.

Didn't read thread. This and all similar LW threads should be retitled honestly, "How to avoid any measures against illegal aliens that we can't easily circumvent and reverse later."

    I agree.

I'm in favor of draconian action against employers found guilty of knowingly hiring illegal aliens. That means cumulative fines for every day illegals are employed, piercing of corporate vails to seize personal assets to pay those fines, and mandatory jail time served concurrently for every offense.

However, how do you protect an honest employer who makes every attempt to insure an employee is legally allowed to work? Pretty much every illegal alien used stolen identities and forged documents to get jobs.

Are employers supposed to be ICE agents, and granted rights to arrest applicants discovered to be using forged/stolen documents?

As in the meaning and intent of the authors of the Constitution ?

Kinda like when the left wing revisionist rewrite the definition if the word "arms" when trying to change the meaning of the Second Amendment.

To understand the American Constitution you have to read "Vattel's" and understand what the "Law of Nature" is (Natural Law) and have a copy of the dictionary that was used in America when our founding fathers wrote the Constitution.

Holy lock stock and barrel...AR-15's and assault rifles are protected under the Second Amendment. :eyepopping:

Well then answer me this, who belongs here more that guy that has been waiting 3 years or the guy who crossed illegally 3 years ago. There are plenty of h2a visas to be had, and besides agriculture the only jobs that americans don't want to do is because of the pay. Their availability keeps the pay scale lower for american working poor and legal immigrants.

Draconian measures work very well. You only have to punish a few very harshly and then the rest will find a way to comply with the law -- because they don't want to end up in jail like the employer down the street who did.

I would think that would be true.

But once again, how does an employer know if the documents presented to them are real or not?

The intent of the authors to make taxation a Congressional power, not a Presidential one. But keep pretending.

The employers have to figure that out, and they will -- for their self-preservation depends on it.

If you even have an inkling that trouble has walked in the door, don't hire it. Send them back on the bricks. Let someone else hire it.
