If Trump is not removed through Impeachment, will we lose in 2020?

That would be up to the electors chosen by the several sovereign states.

Despite a preponderance of evidence of Trump's deceit and abuse of power, it would be a mistake for the House to impeach Trump.

The ultimate purpose of impeachment is to remove a person from office. Passing an Articles of Impeachment and a Senate trial is enormously divisive. The ultimate result of an impeachment is that it would tear our country apart.

The ultimate goal of Democrats, in one form or another, is to remove Trump from office. Many observers feel that would not be accomplished if the House passed Articles of Impeachment.

Why? One reason is the Democrats would be doing exactly what Trump wanted them to do, or so he says. He wants a Senate trial. He thinks it is his only chance to win reelection because everything he has done has turned sour. His forlorn accomplishments would include a failed Middle East policy, the lunacy of freeing up Iran to resume her nuclear research, his retreat in Syria which enhanced Russian interests in the pivotal Middle East, and his months long trade war with China which resulted in higher prices and a stagnant Wall Street from Jan. 2018 through Oct. 2019. The stock market only now is beginning to recover because analysts think Trump's trade war is coming to an end.

Another reason is, Americans are not behind impeachment. For impeachment to be successful, it would require an overwhelming support of Americans, somewhere in the area of 85 to 95%. Then Republicans in the Senate would listen.

Which brings us to the third reason why impeachment will fail. Many Republicans think what Trump did in Ukraine was inappropriate, but not a reason to remove him from office. Many disagree, thinking that a Presidential request for foreign interference in our Presidential election does warrant removal from office. They would ask Republicans, is foreign interference in our elections now acceptable? Apparently it is for Republicans because they are not breaking ranks. As things stand right now, not one Republican would vote to remove Trump from office.

So, what is the point of impeaching Trump? The best chance Democrats have of removing Trump from office is to continue to question his honesty and competence. Trump is an extremely unpopular President. They should feed on that, and maybe they will win next November.

trump is a danger to the country at this point

he is mentally ill and a habitual liar

allowing trump to be a lame duck president for over 2 months would be catastrophic

can anyone guess the deals he would make and the criminals he would pardon??

not to mention he would cozy up to every dictator in the world and try to benefit even more then than now

he has already released convicted war criminals and caused many deaths in Syria

he has twice now invited foreign governments to get involved and help him with elections

    with that said

I still think one republican will start the dominos falling

    think about it

there are 6 maybe 8 republican senators that have the power to be sure trump quits

the democrats can only do their job but have no power

at least one senator will realize the power they have

trump does not actually have the power, the senators do

the GOP can take him out any moment

trump knows this , so he is kissing ass and inviting them for lunch at the Whitehouse

but he is a useful idiot so the GOP keeps him around to further their agenda

the moment the GOP is sure he is no longer useful

    bye bye putins puppet

Obama said it himself: (paraphrased) America isn't down with the socialist revolutionary rhetoric. Trump will win because he's the only one not advocating for authoritarian collectivism. And the disingenuousness of your attempts to smear civic nationalism and individualism as 'foreign election meddling' will only cause more to leave your camp.

Wrong! The big shift came when the news of this broke. Late September. When what Trump called "the Transcript" was released. Just about everythin we know today was in that memo already. These hearings only confirmed everything that any smart person who follows the news already knew.

There can be many shifts from now until the Senate votes. In any case, what does it matter if there is a "big" shift or an accumulation of small shifts?

Your strawman is not a good one. You need to think up a new one.

The chances of Trump being removed are slim. It's my opinion that what he did was a bit slimy but not impeachment worthy, at least nothing impeachable was proven to any legal standard.

I think that his races against the democratic candidates are far to close for anyone to be dogmatic about who will win.
We will be anyway but oh well.

I hope Trump wins because the Democrats are promising policies that would devastate America.
4 more years of the current idiot is a little better. I'd rather have bad international relations than bad internal policy because i don't care what the rest of the world thinks.

Yeah... sure. That's how Trump extorted President Z. He told him "You don't get any aid if you don't rent a golf cart".

If Trump is not removed through Impeachment, will we lose in 2020?

The unfortunate reality being that if those things happen then this country will get what it is asking for and deserves....an impotent Constitution and the loss of republic. I truly hope we are better than that but no longer have confidence it is true. These next several months will define what the United States is to become.....Stay Tuned.

How exactly is a president being elected by the current system means were losing the republic? Or that the constitution is impotent if a president doesnt get impeached by a party still mad they lost the last election?

That is why eleven year olds can't vote and adults that listen to them shouldn't be allowed to vote either. (though you are the one putting sick ideas in his head)

Don't worry, the resistsnce is strong. The dark cloud of Trumpian insanity may be comming to an end. If he just manages to keep the tranquilizers down, so he doesn't lose his cool in public.

If it wasn't for the outlet of his campaign rallies, he would have blown a fuse long ago. He may blow one anyhow.

I suppose the best thing about the Impeachment is that Trump is now in a box of his own making. He has been outed and no foreign leader can any longer take him seriously. All he has is those who somehow like the dark comedy he calls politics.

Wow!!! What a stunning fantasy. Trump is going nowhere as is Schiff's clownshow. Even now Trump's numbers are showing a devastating loss for the Dems no matter who they run. I'm inclined to believe this trend will continue in 2024 and long after that. The Democrat party keeps running on losing ideas, America clearly disagrees with these silly outrageous, leftist pipe dreams. The Dem's need to extricate themselves from the communists who have usurped the party, form a new party that is principled and actually pro America.
