In all but one ruling that has ever gone before a court, they found "the people" to be synonymous with "citizens". In fact, the Heller decision uses that same language. Ron is, as usual, wrong in his assessment.
cops don't detain illegal immigrants. that's the role of immigration enforcement agents. so yes, police let an illegal immigrant keep his firearm. don't all human beings have the natural right to defend themselves, their property and their family?
if the cop knows someone has a firearm and has a disqualifying attribute, the cop should arrest the person being an illegal alien is a 18 USC 922 disqualifying attribute
no court has upheld this Federal law also bans folks with a travel/work/education Visa to possess a firearm. This violates what folks like you claim is the purpose and soul of the 2nd Amendment, that all men have the natural right to self-defense.
its funny watching you lecture us about the second amendment when you really don't believe it does anything whatsoever.
No, it's not. Unlawful presence is not a crime. It's a civil violation and it's adjudicated by an administrative judge. Really, you people ought to learn the laws you so claim to be so passionate about defending.
but self-defense is. somehow our Conservative friends believe folks in the USA on a diplomatic, tourist, work, or education Visa don't have the right to self defense. interesting...
Of course Mexicans have the right to self defense. The one's who enter the country legally and the ones still in Mexico. Criminals, not so much. You know, as per court rulings. You do still agree with the courts don't you?
Actually, illegal immigrants do have the right to self defense. if you attack one without cause they have the legal right to defend themselves with deadly force if neccessary.
Exactly correct. The Militia, as defined in US Code, includes '[persons] that intend to become a citizen'. This (presumably) includes illegal aliens (good luck proving otherwise). Personally, I wouldnt have it any other way.
Sure. The US government has just decided that because they're not citizens, and because they have proven they can't be trusted to obey US law, we're not going to let them have firearms. Gun control! I thought you'd be behind this "common sense" restriction.
you just want other gun owners to have to suffer under the idiotic laws that people you vote for in NYC have imposed upon you
so you believe people here illegally ought to be able to buy and possess firearms? people under indictment-yet to be convicted of a crime-are also banned. how do you feel about that?
If I hadn't, I'd still understand it a million times better than you do, obviously. Are incarcerated murderers not human beings? Which would prompt the question of why they didn't say what they meant.
