Putin meddled in US elections as a response to US meddling in Russian elections, staging a coup in Ukraine and destabilizing Syria. That is why it is important to consider the whole context. Perhaps he would stop meddling in US elections if we weren't so hostile. Is this too level headed an idea for you to even acknowledge?
Much ado about nothing. Russia has been meddling in our politics and we in theirs since WWII. All analysis say the Russian meddling had zero effect. However, the butt hurt want to blow this into an issue. It isn't working except with their base. All the Independents I know think this is counter productive and a big waste of time and resources. We all saw Obama patting Putin on the knee, we all saw Obama and Clinton give 20% or our uranium to Russia, we all saw Obama give Syria to Russia, we all saw Obama order the cyber crimes chief to stand down with regards to Russian meddling, we all saw Obama ignore cyber attacks from North Korea, Iran and China. After sleeping thorough all this, the butt hurt now want immediate action. They have such great indignation. Surely our democracy will not survive unless we go to war. Gag me with a spoon. As a Republican, I hope the butt hurt keep crying like the sky is falling. It makes them look like idiots. The American public is smarter than they think. We all see through their false crises.
Trump always starts out on the best possible terms with someone, even a dictator. Then he goes from there. At least he did not send pallets of cash.
That "logic" is just plain not acceptable. If they attacked us with arms because we unrightfully shot at them, we would still take action to defend ourselves. This is no different. And, Trump has refused to lift a finger even though reports say Russian attacks are continuing.
Sooo, we need to start something then escalate it? Russia has no right to react to our actions? When Obama drew a red line and Assad crossed it, what should have happened?
Please think through what you're saying. Obviously, Russia can do what it wants. We don't vote for their government. The point here is that having a US president who doesn't defend our democracy against Russian acts of aggression is NOT ACCEPTABLE. And, the "reason" for Russian aggression against the US is absolutely irrelevant. If you want to discuss Syria, start a thread. Your comment here has nothing at all to do with the OP.
It is highly likely that Russia and other countries attempted to tamper with our election, and other cyber crimes is because they viewed our President as a wimp. After all we had cyber attacks by North Korea, Iran and China and he did nothing. The real question is where was your outrage then? I get it, you are highly agitated by Obama doing nothing while Russia tampered with our elections. Now two years after Obama thumbed his nose at the tampering, what do you suggest Trump do? The good news is you can probably count on him taking action. He is a man of action not like his this limp wristed predecessor.
The NSA is in the DoD. Trump is commander in chief and has given no direction to move against Russia's attacks on our democracy. Russia's attacks on our democracy are not limited to stealing information. And, their theft of information has not been limited to hacking passwords.
I am no expert on Russia. However, evidence speaks louder than words. One president gave control over 20% of our uranium to the Russians. Another president said he would like to improve relations with Russia. One was called a traitor by the libs, care to guess which one? One party's presidential candidate's husband was paid half a million dollars for a 20 minute speech by the Russians. This candidate also received a $140 million contribution to her family charity from the Russians. Another candidate built a hotel in Russia. The libs call one of these candidates corrupt. Care to guess which one? Russia invaded the Ukraine. Who was president at that time? What was his response? Which president has provided the Ukraine over $200 million in military aide? Which response do you think the Russians were happier with? One president expelled 35 Russian diplomats. The libs call him the messiah. Another president expelled 60 Russian diplomats. The libs call him traitor. Why is this confusing? One president imposed strict sanctions on Putin's inner circle. One president imposed sanctions on the Russian energy and defense industries. One president lambasted a so called ally for allowing Russia to build a pipeline to their country and buying Russian gas. The libs call this president Putin's puppet. Is this what a puppet does? Being only a person with an open mind, I have trouble seeing Trump as soft on Russia. But I am sure I will be enlightened by the unbiased.
