And the Hadith? Ibn Ishaq/Hisham 992: - "Fight everyone in the way of Allah and kill those who disbelieve in Allah." That's not war. That's religion used as an excuse for war.

If you two accept Islam, you will remain in command of your country; but if your refuse my Call, you’ve got to remember that all of your possessions are perishable. I see, so everyone has the same God....cool, I like that. To bad everyone else throughout the world think differently and keep telling others they are going to hell, or even worse sending them there on the express train. I like your version of religion...even us Atheists fit in nicely.

 

Great, I hope then that you understand why you can't equate gods like Zeus and Thor to God.

 

Why not? It seems to me they are as real as any other version...more so in ways. They have far more history and literature to back them up, have the exact same physical evidence behind them, have been termed "Gods" even by yourself, and we even make movies about them...seems they are as good as any.

 

The issue here is God's role in the world. God is generally understood as someone, personified and we call someone, who sees all and understand everything. God is resourceful or God can know anything we do and even if we hide and do something sacrilegious God can see it and punishes the culprits. God is our father and patron. God is the ultimate judge. That is why so many people all over the world run after Gods.

Paradoxically God has a different face, a hideous face and the face we see is false, painted but the wrathful God who is very powerful manifests himself in the guise of Hitler. Today some of the radical Islamist fundamentalists have their gods, caliphates and we know what they want.

Therefore, we common folks have little to do with God. We need securities: social, political, geographical, financial and if these things can be fulfilled God becomes unnecessary.

 

But there are no rational reasons to back them up. Zesus can't be God because Zeus himself is not eternal (he is the child of titans). Zeus is thus created, and cannot possibly be the Creator.

More so, Zeus has dominion over specific arenas. Thus, Zeus is obviously not all-powerful nor in control of everything. He is not perfect, nor worthy of worship. Only God is.
