Look Catch 22, let's cut out the crap. I know people who studied in London in the 70's and 80's, and they were able to walk through the parks late at night without fear. Athens was considered the safest city in Europe, and people could wear their jewels at night without fear... and then the migrants came. Turkey began sending them in as blackmail to the EU, but even worse were the criminals from Albania. When they were sent back, they were given new passports and came back in.

For the past 20 years every window on every building in Athens has iron shutters. Every door has 5 bolt locks, and some people in the suburbs have put barbed wire around their home. The bad thing is that they don't just rob, but kill as well for no reason. That simply isn't true. I was living in London then. I went to self defence classes so that I felt safe. None of us would let our children out alone in the day time never mind at night.

Of course. It had been being ployed for several years by the Mail and possibly there were some problems due to giving up on things which people had worked hard to achieve like Equal Pay. In a town near me there is a chicken factory. East Europeans came in and particularly due to them working hard soon were filling up the jobs. The people of the area however had considered this a job they could have when all else failed. Animosity started towards the East Europeans. However they all met and the Factory decided to keep a percentage of the jobs only for locals. Everyone happy. Making sure EastEU people did not come here and work for less is well within the governments ability to provide legislation for. Other things which people found difficult like places in schools and with a GP also were the Governments responsibility to deal with. Even more, Britain allowed in more East Europeans than they needed to by EU rules. These were all things which could be dealt with in other ways. I was certainly concerned that England was moving towards the far right. However with Corbyn having shocked the Labour Party I now feel there is hope for England.

 

It wasn't the same era. I'm thinking of London in the 70's and 80's. In the 90's when my son in law visited some relatives, they forgot to warn him that London had changed, and to take off his Rolex. He found out the hard way.
