What "lie" are you referring to? Quote his "lie". He was talking about unemployment for the most part.

And your crap doesn't fly with me. If you would compare unemployment among the presidents, then refer to that. http://historyinpieces.com/research/us-unemployment-rates-president

As it shows, the performance of unemployment rates were not so different under Dems and Repubs. That is because since about the 1970s both parties were dealing with a growing crisis of capitalism that no one can solve. And today, the crisis is getting desperate.

I stand by my, "Most partisans don't bother to look at the plan or the issue." They just take whatever their party or favorite politician says and runs with it.

11 months? What can be accomplished in 11 months in gov't? The recession started in late 07? And crashed in 08. And still a bush prez.
Even is something was done on day 1, it would take 11 months to ripple into the economy, at least.

    You're smarter than that, yes?

Bluesguy REALLY thinks that the great recession would not have happened had the Dems not taken congress in 2007. Even without the Dems actually enacting any economic policy, knowing that GWB would veto it anyway. Just the Dems' threat of raising taxes resulted in the biggest recession since the great depression, according to him. Okay!! It takes a certain kind of partisan blinders for this kind of history revision.

    You guys are surprised?

This forum is a perfect example of the country.

90% of the people here don't even debate what is going on, they just attack the other party or defend their party until they are blue in the face.

I like a lot of Trump's tax plan, def needs some tweaks but it is a step in the right direction from where we are now.

Well you guys were expecting Trump to fix Obamacare and taxes and budgets and everything else in 6.

As I said the recession started 11 months after the Democrats took control of the budget and fiscal policy. They were in the drivers seat to pass legislation to help mitigate the effects and then get us into a full recovery. They failed as opposed to the Republicans during the 2000/2001 slowdown recession, dot.com bubble and 911 attack.

Please cite where I have said a recession would not have occurred had Republicans retained the Congress. Cite where I have said it was SOLELY the threat of higher taxes caused the recession. But do tell me how such threats especially in a slowing economy would prevent one.

Hence my rinse and repeat to him. Same stuff, different day. Facts are all wrong and mostly made up.
Question him to much and he reports the post refuting the fake facts.

Nope. Never expected that. Did figure they'd get their plan through congress though.
Oh wait, they have no plan.

What did they pass, in that 11 months that caused the crash? How exactly did whatever it was they passed, impact the crash? In a mere 11 months.

    Balls in your court.

I'm saying he is a wealthy capitalist who is not opposed to capitalism or the government that enables it.

Are you saying wealthy capitalist does not equal liberal?
    I'm sensing cognitive dissonance.

Quote where I said what they passed caused the crash. Ball in your court. What did the Republicans who were the minority party pass that caused the crash? What did they the minority pass to impact the crash? You seem intent on blaming someone for the crash.

Every American in their home policy, led by bush and the R's early in the decade for 1.

You claimed the D's had 11 months to avoid the crash, I asked you how they could do that? Dodge, rinse, repeat.

No you have yet to refute the truth and the facts as posted. Still waiting in spite of your specious denials.

You claimed I said they CAUSED the crash, are withdrawing that claim now?

What could they have done to help mitigate the effects of the slowdown and recession?

Not attempt to pass and then do so HUGE increases in government spending busting the budget that was heading towards surplus again.
Lock in and make permanent the Bush tax rates instead of threatening HUGE new tax increases especially on the supply side.
Not threaten the economy and markets with even more regulations adding to employment cost.

    Just to name a couple.

Well yeah, Kode, I have to argue with your statement that Facebook Boy isn't representative of the left. He's an outspoken proponent of universal income. Doesn't go farther left than that.

I have had hard-core righties argue with me in favor of universal income in exchange for eliminating all welfare, CHIP, unemployment benefits, disability benefits, etc.
