    Here is the podium photo.

    427488_3503904511410_601135072_n.jpg

... and a photo with his bronze (gi) and silver (no gi) from the worlds.

The trophies are all the kids over the last 3 years. My son is now a 4 stripe white belt and will go grey over Christmas, then Yellow by mid summer. They could go right to Yellow, but as he fights in tournaments the thought is he can do better. He has been sandbagged on hard in the past, so we are talking the normal time to progress. He has been rolling for just over 1 year now.

That's awesome. I wish I was a little younger, and was able to start MMA or BJJ at a younger age.

The generation right under mine is gonna produce some badass fighters, for sure.

I just wanted to share an update.... he crushed it at the Anaheim, IGC International Tournament.

    1st Place Gi
    1st Place No Gi

Which means he won two Samurai Swords with plaques on them.

He gets a belt promotion next month. It's a far bigger deal in Jiujitsu that Karate and takes far far far longer to advance. He also takes Muay Thai.

    He is 100% bully proof.

Outstanding! And you're absolutely correct about promoting in JiuJitsu, it's an extremely slow process, and belts are hard earned. It's not uncommon to meet white belts who've been working on their blue for more than two years.

GSP beat Condit last Saturday. Who's next for him? Superfight with Silva? Title defense against Hendricks?

Bring on GSP/Silva already. They're been the kingpin of their respective divisions for over 6 freaking years now. They only have one loss between them, the Serra upset over GSP, which was viciously avenged. Bring this fight on already.

Jew jitsu imo is a girls fighting art although was forced to get a black belt because all paid bouts today are MMA due to the UFC, but its undoubtedly why a lot of girls do participate in it. there are less risks for bodily damage, etc...

its also not every exciting to watch at all, and the rules in the US are for babies if one goes to Brazil that is where the real jew jitsu fighters are who don't have to put up with the tough regulations in the US.

but for real excitement any stand up fighting is best, and should be where the UFC should have headed, but they were profit oriented and know most of the people in their sport would be wrestlers, that an jew jitsui are the most boring spectator sport ever.

Have to agree with XL here. Kimbo is a good brawler, but not really world class...

Small world btw, I train with a guy who use to train with this guy.

Calling this guy a good brawler is a insult to brawlers world wide. Nigel Benn and Jake Lamotta were good brawlers, this guy has only looked like a winner when he's fighting scrubs in ghetto backyards.

The guy has no talent. No wrestling ability, no BJJ or Judo, and even with his hands the only things he does correctly is plant his feet for power shots. No jab, no combination punching, no cardio...I could go on and on, but my point is he sucks as a legitimate fighter in any combat sport.

    Pretty much this.

I gotta give him credit though. He went on TUF and tried to make himself a legit mixed martial artist. He even nabbed a win over Houston Alexander. It was an ugly fight, but he pulled the win out. Tough cat who wanted to learn, but no real skill besides decent punching power.

I wathed every UFC from UFC 1 till around 2005. Then ultimate fighter came out and it became the sport of dochebags who wrestled in high school.

First, I have to ask, what is it in YOUR mind which equates the term 'brawler', with someone who has skill in the clinch or on the ground? It's common knowledge (in my circle at least) that the term 'brawler' is used to describe someone who's basically a sloppy boxer with good natural ability.

    Secondly, note this:

    Stop trolling my post.

If any legitimate fighter brawled with Kimbo they would have a bowel movement in their shorts, because he has years of experience fighting for food in the yard.

Watch his fights on the street he says this is a how a "curse word" eats, that's a real fighter, not one those sell out UFC fighters who fight for money and fame.

And all those loser Mixed Martial Artists either try to tackle him to hug him on the floor like wrestlers enjoy, or do their jew jistsu on him like Big Fat Country Roy Nelson.

The other seth guy sucker punched him, with the worlds ugliest punch in the history of any sport, no one will brawl with him for a real exciting fight because they want the cheap win.

That is what UFC is, cheap wins, if those fighters fought with the rules in Brazil they would lose, that is what Royce Gracie the guy who made the sport famous said.
