I'm not sure---but I believe this policy directly affects more then anything---black majority schools and not so much white majority schools. The inner city black majority schools have to deal with gang type culture--and have to come down on transgressions sharply if the rest of its students are to feel safe. Our schools are segregated for the most part. Black families who move into white areas to send their kids to a school based on its quality of learning---aren't dealing with the same insideous culture that affects a black majority community. Meaning....those black students most likely aren't treated any differently the whites.

A school dealing with gang issues will be less tolerant in my opinion. But now black majority inner city schools will be less safe and even more of a poor learning environment.

 

Are you in a position to judge what is going on here?
Black hostility is overt; white hostility is repressed. There only needs to be one incident to unleash that repression.

Apparently you haven't read the above. Schools haven't be segregated since 1957.

Actually since this preceived disparity was first addressed and the federal sentencing guidelines were established to take race out of it the disparity has increased.

One of the biggest crocks of delusional crap I have ever read. I read news stories daily about blacks committing murders and robberies that are out on parole for felony drug convictions after serving less than a year.

The REAL target of the so-called War on Drugs is middle class people of all races and genders because they are the ones that have property to seize and sell,and they are the ones with the money to hire and pay lawyers to keep them out of jail.

Perhaps you don't get it. There aren't supposed to be majority Black, or White schools. They're supposed to all be intergrated. But if they aren't, I'd say that Holder and the Obama administration are bringing back segregation, inequality and poverty on a grand scale.

Back to the point. In order to teach there must be discipline in the classroom. Getting rid of troublemakers has always been the best route. However, a 5 or 6 year making the image of a gun out of a PB&J sandwich, or kissing a girl is not expulsion criteria. Then there's the known, trouble maker, bully, thief and drug dealer in the school. If it's disproportionate they should be removed and no quota should be required up or down, black or white. Not what Holder has proposed as quotas.

Schools are heavily segregated....heck communitiies are segregated. Holder has nothing to do with it. Its the nature of human nature when you have different cultures. In my city about 5 schools are nearly hundred percent black.

Its a fact that many....perhaps MOST black majority schools have to deal with more transgressions and that black majority schools are more strict---to force safety and a better learning environment in the face of gang culture. Holder is hurting these schools.
