Quite the strawman you have there. "progressives" are not a ubiquitous group. I have total respect for free speech, property rights and religious rights. So, you're wrong there.

Public property that is government owned and controlled is not the same as private property and we both know that. I don't care if there is a church of christianity, islam, satanism, etc. They all have equal right to freedom of speech and are protected by the constitution. I don't want to see the government promoting any one religion or god. I certainly don't think that a state or city government should be putting up statues of people that represent an attempted rebellion against the US in order to maintain a slave-based economy. You want to put up a civil war statue celebrating the confederate traitors in your yard, I couldn't care less.

I am not afraid of terrorists because I am not a fool. There are much more common things to worry about.

Correct. The notion of a "noble" savage is a joke. Indians were not living in peace and harmony with nature and their peers.

It is not much of a reach to point out your ignorance and bigotry. It is plain for all to see

Since Mosques are to be razed in America because Muslims owned slaves, well, there go the churches and synagogues as well.

Nobody is calling for the removal of Washington and Jefferson statues.

I'm surprised you haven't suggested this already.
The Chinese need to go as well. They held my people as slaves in the 11th and 12th centuries.

Funny how people hate Muslims for their sins but are so forgiving when it comes to Christians and other religions whose sins are far worse.

Then I suppose everyone should just whack themselves, every human on earth has a 'history' of slavery in their blood.

Yes, all religious symbols should be removed from public places.

You dodged my comments. I guess you don't have a counter argument.

    Strawman.

As the thread title makes clear, the question relates to the slave owner Muhammad and whether or not he should receive the same treatment as other slave owners, which he has not.

As a "progressive", perhaps you can explain the inconsistency of your comrades...

Alrighty then, let's destroy all religious monuments dedicated to Muhammad on public property. :)

In this case the situation happens to be just the opposite.

Why that distinction exists is the topic we're exploring. If it's consistency you're after, I'm with you...

If GW owned slaves, should we removed Christian churches.

The OP's thesis has run off the road and is mired in the gutter.

Just the message a secular government wants to convey in its highest hall of Justice.

It's your defective logic that has run off the road and is mired in the gutter, Jake.

George Washington wasn't the founder of the Christian faith - Jesus of Nazareth was.

If Jesus owned slaves you'd have a point, but you don't.
