Why should the U.S feel obligated to be nice to the Russians after they LOST the Cold War? Personally I think the Russians should be immensely grateful as to how they have been treated.

Well yeah, the russkis are free to defend their "borders"....not saying.

Those freed states scarlet chose their path, OK, they werent happy in the "sphere" that they were in....they..voted....and ratified, and the rest is water under a bridge.:))

You hope uke's dont listen to people like me....they aren't.
I'm in no capacity to advise:)). Theyre only defending their borders too....much more so, and iIdoubt it's a case of "go get em"...more like providing some ways or means for some adequate protection.

If third part gets involved...a "wasteland"...i doubt that....certain parties wouldnt take it that far, afaic.

Maybe ... but the USSR's subsequent Russia is not Unimpostistan as many mean out of stupidity. Maybe one should rethink his behavior!

This part is interesting, although from what I know the friction started over a year ago when Ukraine detained a fishing vessel and took the men hostage. Everything Poroshenko does is a deliberate provocation, but he would not act without Washington's okay - so what goes? Does the US want a proxy war with Russia - maybe to help its arms industries?

A dispute over shipping lanes is threatening to reignite the 4-year-old simmering war between Ukraine and Russia following confrontations sparked by both sides in recent days.

Russian border guards on Monday detained Ukrainian fishing vessels in the Sea of Azov, a strategically important body of water contained to the north by Ukraine, to the west by the Crimean Peninsula and to the east and south by Russia. Monday’s incident came days after Russian President Vladimir Putin slammed Kiev for detaining Russian commercial ships also in the Azov in what he described as “a totally illegal move” and which Kremlin officials have warned may prompt retaliation.

I have news for you. Putin has adapted to the situation, and Russia is now diversified, but can we survive.? Fracking is quite expensive - but then again ignorance is your calling card. :oldman:

If you knew anything about military procurement you would know that a war does NOT help "arms industries". Because in a real war, military spending goes to operations and NOT to procurement.

This is a fallacy and it shocked Gorbachov when George Bush said it. The Soviet Union broke up according to a mutual agreement. Gorbachov assumed Nato would be dissolved once the Warsaw pact was - but he was mistaken. He also believed the US was against the Soviet system, and again he was mistaken.

It didn't take long for him to be kicked out and replaced with Washington's proxy Yeltsin. With Yeltsin not only was there graft and corruption, but the Harvard boys sent to help Moscow adjust to a free market, robbed Russia of everything as the people went hungry.

Vladimir Putin is a realist and under no such illusions. He knows that Russia's massive natural wealth is a threat to the US unless it can be put under Washington's control - and that's where the problem lies.

Ukrainians, this is a nation of degenerates. And this is not an insult. This is a medical fact. Ukrainians live in a region with a large iodine deficiency. Therefore, the number of clinical degenerates in Ukraine is huge.
For moderators. Here is a link to the fact. http://survincity.com/2010/10/iodine-deficiency-threatens-ukrainian-nation/
In addition, Ukrainians are a nation of cowards. And this is also a fact. For example, the Ukrainian SS forces were only able to shoot Jews and Poles. Once for the entire second world war, the Ukrainian SS battalion was sent to the eastern front, from where they fled on the first day of the fighting.
Or another example. Near the Crimea. The Second World War.
    Russian submarine "Shch-408".
Four days was under water under the continuous bombing of depth charges.
She emerged and took an artillery battle with ten anti-submarine ships, damaging two of them.
The last signal: "I die, but I do not give up"

    Ukrainian armored "Berdyansk" and "Nikopol".
For the purpose of provocation, they violated the state border of Russia.
Were caught by the FSB RF border guard ships
The last signal of the Ukrainians:
“SOS! SOS! I need help! I am in the Kerch channel! I need help, I need help! Help me please".
None of the crews of armored boats did not rush to the weapon, which was in abundance, and even on the "peaceful" tug.
No one snatched the fire ax and did not begin to chop the Kingston to drown, but did not surrender.
But, as Ukrainians are crying out, - they are fighting with Russia. And now all these "warriors", crawling on their knees and shifting the blame on each other. Together with the officers of the SBU, who were on these ships.:roflol::roflol::roflol:

    I said a proxy war.

I quoted from Greekpronews that the US told Kiev to stop the attacks by the 'radicals/Nazis' on the Russian diplomatic missions. It's confirmed now by Fort Russ:

The Russian embassy in the United States urged Washington to “curb its proteges” in Ukraine in connection with the attacks of the Ukrainian radicals against the Russian diplomatic mission in Kiev.

“We are in solidarity with our colleagues in Kiev and with the Russian consulates in Ukraine, which regularly face aggression. We urge the United States to curb its proteges – radical nationalists and neo-Nazis should be detained in Ukraine,” said the message published on the embassy’s Facebook page.

It wasn't only Poroshenko that threatened to blow up the bridge. Other Ukrainians did as well - as did some in our own government.

That is a perfect example of Washington's projections and consequent stupidity. How little they know of the man. Vladimir Putin was known for his integrity, and is not, nor has he ever been an opportunist. He once said disloyalty is the worse trait a person could have - so why would he be disloyal to Assad? The only reason Assad is in the situation he's in, is because he refused to allow a gas pipe from Qatar to go through Syria and break Russia's monopoly.

Did Kerry really expect Putin to back stab Assad as well as the Christians and other minorities dependent on him for survival? Besides Putin knows that all these wars are really against Russia, and that their only protection is the Shia crescent that separates their own moderate Sunnis from the extremists in the Gulf states. The wars in Chechnya are an example. When Putin found out that CIA agents were embedded with the terrorists there and he told Bush, his response was that; 'we can do whatever we want.'

Its surprises the Russians. After all, it was worth a Breaking News message. Obviously the Russian Navy isn't armed. Pootin's Soldiers don't fight. They make love, not war. :date:

Now we know you're trolling. A member of the KGB. An organization that made the Nazi SS look like a Girl Scout Troop.
