It's a POS, pure and simple.

America should be ashamed. All America.

I took a different view on MLK's contribution. It would not have been possible without the advancement of the black middle class (Brown v. Board of Education 1954) and more militant activist like Malcolm X. MLK is remembered because he was not that radical and he incorporated black rights as part of the overall civil rights agenda for women, disadvantaged and poor.

Well the problem is that the monument people wanted it made out of the kind of granite that doesn't erode easily. Super hard and tough and the toughest granite is found in China and only a few Chinese sculptors have the skills to work with such a hard rock.

The problem is that they let some Chinese artist, with no experience in American culture, body language, or art have a free hand to do what he wished. That was a mistake. They should've been very clear about what they wanted and instead they let some foreigner without the slightest clue make a statue and he obviously patterned it after Chinese memorial statues and if anyone takes a look at Chinese statues one can immediately see the resemblance.

This man took a statue of Mao and put MLK's likeness on it. That is all.. and it is awful looking IMO. It's foreign, its cold, and its unwelcoming.

But hey I bet the NBPP people love it!

While Ubama is in office you'll only see an increase in flash mobs.

Couldn't agree more. A nice life-sized bronze statue of him reading or reflecting...that's what I would have done. A pose like this...

Instead, we have Emperor MLK, the Colossus of DC. Who are the idiots that authorized that piece of garbage?

When this man ran for office his campaign had zero issue with his supporters telling the American electorate that they should reject MLK's teachings such as those expressed in MLK"s I have a dream speech.

Which is precisely what he and his supporters did, in telling the American people that they should vote for Obama not because of his record, not because of his merit, not because of the content of his character, but because of his skin color.

    http://sayanythingblog.com/entry/joe_biden_vote_for_obama_because_hes_black/

    http://www.onebigdog.net/bet-stars-vote-obama-cause-hes-black/

Which his supporters to this day still do.

    http://blackagendareport.com/conten...pport-prez-because-he’s-“competent”-black-man

Which is a flat out rejection of MLK's dream that someday we will judge another by their content of their character, not their skin color.

Obama's speech is yet another disgusting attempt at connecting this faker in chief with the civil rights movement.

Just as when Obama lied, and attempted to attach himself to the civil rights movement, claiming that a certain civil rights march inspired his parents to conceive him, even-though he was born four years prior to the event he claimed had inspired his parents.

Once again the liberals tell us all that we should do what they themselves reject. Once again Obama lays out expectations of behavior he himself rejects.

I think that is a pretty illogical comparison.

Martin Luther King was a reverend and a civil rights crusader.

The president is not a civil rights crusader or a reverend. He is a politician.

My opinion is your conclusion is an attempt to take two inherently different people and intentionally contrast them in an effort to paint one as a poor person.

    He's a lousy community organizer who couldn't run a cash register at a 7-11.

Guess you are still supporting this idiot.

Ironically if MLK was alive and active today, the same cons trying to put him on a pedastol in this thread would be the main ones calling him a communist, a socialist, anarchist, etc.

    Okay.

What does that have to do with the thread topic? Anything? Anything at all?

    Let's go further.

What does that have to do with anything I said? Anything?

Of course not. Your post is hyper partisan reflexive outrage. It is nonsensical garbage with no basis in reality. Your post is spewed garbage that right wing radio would reject as having an absence of basis.

You see, I was actually addressing the topic of the thread, not trying to participate in a right wing masturbatory session.

Now, would you like to address what I said or just post nonsense?

King is rolling over in his grave at the class warfare that Obama has been pushing.

btw- that whole 99% thing makes no sense.

Why? because if 99% were protesting and not working, no one would be working. its more like 2.5% if that.

    Oh, I missed your edit.

Please show me the post where I stated such garbage. please. i beg of you to support your argument here, especially since it is a blatant lie.

I have been plenty critical of the president,. but for actual reasons, not made up ones like you are putting forth.

So let's have it. Let's have the post where I said I supported the president.

Really? The president, who ran for political office, is not a politician?

Amazing that your post not only defies logic but states the complete opposite of reality.

Who can you do that? How can you simply state the opposite of truth and what is real?

That's simply amazing. You managed to not address my post at all! You decided instead to insult OWS protesters who have nada to do with this thread. Any comment on my actual post? Something related to it at all?

Holy (*)(*)(*)(*). Could that be why I did not call him a career politician?

Your argument is of the straw man variety, and a poor one at that.

    No thank you.

I have been adequate critical of the president where appropriate. If you wish to misportray my positions constantly, hence being wrong constantly, I see no reason to prevent that and the ensuing and inevitable embarrassment.
