    True.

Some think it moral to abdicate their own responsibilities for their sin, going directly against the teachings of Jesus.

    You are one of those.

You sin to be saved, fool, while trying to make Jesus just as sinful by asking us to do so.
    Get thee behind us, Satan.

Thank your ****ing god for that !!!

All moral people will rejoice at not thinking like your genocidal, homophobic and misogynous garbage god.

We leave that for followers of Satan like you.

That is a little harsh of a generalization - tarring all Christians with the same brush -- Think you been hanging out with one too many literalists - not simpletons are many members of the Cloth ..

Was to a bbq one time - 10-12 ministers - members of the BOD - and the Office Staff of the District .. and the District President -- an intimate affair - drink flowing a plenty - whole tenderlions on a charcoal BBQ to be exact ..

Was a regular thing for me growing up - .. having close relatives of the cloth - Played doctor with the daughters of one of the fellows there who was a family friend .. Each member of the cloth inattendence had been to a "Real" Seminary - learning greek, latin, Hebrew 8 years.. not an Online "Be a Minister" degree... these are learned men.

One day - had a rather in depth convo with two of them .. The one fellow the family friend .. and another fellow - disussing the Trinity.. debating the Trinity .. and having one take one side .. side I was on ... the other maintain a more "doctrinal position" ..

Many many of the Cloth look at much of the Bible as Allegory - although this might not be the type of thing one would promote in public -but, in private one on one conversations -- that philosophy comes out.

Be I addressing a believer or atheist, ---- or any Christians in all of my fellow Jesus knowing cults, as a Gnostic Christian, I have a legitimate voice anywhere.

    We nearly had a Pope.

In the competition of Christian cults and plethora of offshoots, we held a high rank, before the West outlawed freedom of religion, and the inquisitors were sent to decimate the intelligentsia.

The reasonable left wing will forgive me while the right wing has to be shown why their morals are as backwards and out or date with improved laws and rules that make the bibles look sick.

More are seeing is as the god religions continue to backslide.

The right wing that is our national shame will soon be no more.

I don't know if there's a tally on its historical errors, but It's loaded with contradictions. One or more researchers have published books with long lists of the contradictions.

Yours is an all or nothing faith. For you, there's no room for doubt, lest the whole belief scheme might come undone.

Nevertheless, I don't advocate trashing the Bible completely, but I do encourage the notion that there is something better.

Agree with everything you say .. but .. the Religious right does not represent all of Christianity - and ceartainly not fundimentalism/Literalism

and you know you will not find a more sympathetic voice - against the evils of Christendom.. detailed by me much better than you :)

That said - you did not really listen to what I was saying - and in terms of the Gnostic Voice - I can tell you that it would not fall on deaf ears with "Some" of the clergy of which I am aquainted..

So on my Journey ... I was bapized a second time - first was Lutheran/Protestant .. second was Orthodox ... strictly for marriage reasons - have no affiliation to the dogma of my upbringing .. but was interesting going through the process - talking with the Orthodox Priest .. and there too you will find a voice sympathetic to Gnostic ideas...

Remember that while the West side of the "Universal Church" was busy killing other Christians after constantine .. the Eastern Orthodox was not. Later on when the West was still burning heretics .. legalizing torture .. and so on - The Eastern Orthodox was not.

Not that Orthodox does not suffer from some of the same issues in relation to dogma - but, you will find some major differences that lend themselves to older ways - as this is the Oldest of the Christian denominations after all.

Being a poorly self educated guy, I would be depressed to think there were no better minds out there than mine.

I have not compared though, so I will have to take your word for the quality.

I have given up looking for as proof writer for my poor prose.

At least my judgements and poor apologetics are sound, even if poorly expressed.

Why else would believers run from the moral issues I try to engage them in?

You can not be wrong if right is defined as whatever you say. You cant be immoral if morality is defined as whatever you say.

This makes it impossible for the religious to see their own flaws.

While I have been highly educated .. was not education in "The evils of Christianity" -- this was all self taught as well.

The point of the comment was not to blow smoke up arse -- but to state that you will find few folks more sympathetic to your position ..

Such intellectual dishonesty being displayed by you...not surprising...that's what immoral, dishonest people of your kind do...and so vulgar doing it!

You purposely left out the rest of the quote from Scripture that I presented. So what you have shown was taken out of context from the full passage. So below is that full quote from Scripture I presented.

So according to what He told us in Scripture your thoughts and ways are not higher than His, it's right there written in Scripture. And besides you, it goes for all the rest of us too.

Who am I going to believe? Well certainly it won't be you so of course I'm believing Our Creator Almighty God!

Your thoughts are immoral, dishonest and His is always morally sound and righteous, after all He is Our Creator Almighty God who is perfectly righteous and Holy without sin and you're just one of the multitudes of people He has created since the beginning of time who is a sinner like everyone else and who chooses to oppose Him and be an immoral agent corrupted by evil thoughts. I suspect your daddy satan/devil has blinded your mind and others who think like you.

There are many things in this world that we do not understand. Often, people doubt God’s existence because they do not understand or agree with the things He does and allows. However, as finite human beings we should not expect to be able to comprehend an infinite God.

    We Read in Scripture:

33 Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!

34 For who can know the Lord’s thoughts? Who knows enough to give him advice? Romans 11:33-34 NLT

4 Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God. 5 You see, we don’t go around preaching about ourselves. We preach that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we ourselves are your servants for Jesus’ sake. 2 Corinthians 4:4-5 NLT

Actually all people who have a good sense of what a morally sound character is will rejoice knowing they do not think like your kind, knowing they do not say evil, disparaging, hateful, vulgar words directed towards Our Creator Almighty God such as you have done over and over and over again. They can rejoice knowing they are not possessed by demons, evil spirits in their minds like you are.

If Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ was here He could get the demons, the evil spirits out of your mind, then and only then will you become spiritually well. I know everything I've said to you won't even sink in because you are spiritually sick and not realizing it.

    We Read in Scripture:

    Jesus Heals Two Demon-Possessed Men

28 When Jesus arrived on the other side of the lake, in the region of the Gadarenes, two men who were possessed by demons met him. They came out of the tombs and were so violent that no one could go through that area.

29 They began screaming at him, “Why are you interfering with us, Son of God? Have you come here to torture us before God’s appointed time?”

30 There happened to be a large herd of pigs feeding in the distance. 31 So the demons begged, “If you cast us out, send us into that herd of pigs.”

32 “All right, go!” Jesus commanded them. So the demons came out of the men and entered the pigs, and the whole herd plunged down the steep hillside into the lake and drowned in the water. Matthew 8:28-32 NLT

No doubt about it, His point of view and motives are often enough incongruent with ours. We are the sheep (turkeys) and He is the Master and beneficiary.

Consider why God had more regard for Abel's sacrificial offering of prime animal life versus Cain's vegetative offering. You would think that the latter would rate just as well, since the productivity of the entire ecosystem has a sun-plant basis. But no, God's growth is based on the proliferation and harvesting of developing souls. Revelations chapter 14: ..and blood came out of the winepress.

What...and if you didn't? C'mon now be honest...we are all sinners, that is just the reality.

What...your ancestor did, so you should suffer? C'mon now everybody is accountable for their own sins. There is no where written in Scripture where it says "if you didn't commit a sin and your ancestors did then you should suffer because of their sins" and besides who among us can claim they are sinless?...answer...no one.

    We Read in Scripture:

10 As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous—not even one. Romans 3:10 NLT

So you/we are faced with either eternal joy or eternal suffering then what wise, intelligent person would choose to not believe in Our Creator Almighty God if those are His rules?...answer...none would choose to not believe in Him because a wise, intelligent person would choose to believe in Him and receive the reward, only a stubborn fool, an unwise person would continue in disbelief and go on and continue in his/her sinful lifestyle all the while in disbelief of Our Creator Almighty God up until their eventual deaths.

You/we had no choice in being born, in being created by Him, in being a human being, so He owns all of us, He owns everything He created, the whole universe is His.
But now He is giving you/us the choice of picking 1 of two options. Option 1. Believe in Him, believe that His Son Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ shed His blood on the cross to wash away your/our sins. Option 2. Not believe in Him, not believe His Son Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ shed His blood on the cross to wash away your/our sins.

Note: There is no 3rd option where you would rather just die and not have any kind of awareness whatsoever, no reward, no punishment, but just be in a world of nothingness and be dead just as dead as a lifeless doorknob. This option does not exist, only the two mentioned above is all we have.

So choose wisely and for your own sake don't choose like an unwise stubborn fool! Confess you are a sinner, start having faith and trust in Our Creator Almighty God, accept that His Son Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior and ask Him to forgive you for your sins. Become a born again Christian. Start the process because it's going to take time before any unbeliever can become a believer. The process is not going to happen over night but at least give it a shot. But hey if you still can't bring yourself to even contemplate starting the process then so be it. Then don't come here to whine and complain about how you feel about the Christian faith, just go on your merry way and continue being what you are...an unbeliever.

    We Read in Scripture:

36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him. John 3:36 ESV

9 If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved. Romans 10:9-10 NLT

14 He gave his life to free us from every kind of sin, to cleanse us, and to make us his very own people, totally committed to doing good deeds. Titus 2:14 NLT

10 This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. 1 John 4:10 NLT

8 God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. Ephesians 2:8-9 NLT

24 You have come to Jesus, the one who mediates the new covenant between God and people, and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks of forgiveness instead of crying out for vengeance like the blood of Abel. Hebrews 12:24 NLT

I said "did something bad". Your response instead says "we are all sinners". You are equating "sinner" to "being bad", yet earlier you described "sinner" as "disobeying God". This tells me that you do indeed equate morality to obedience, rather than to being good, and I find that disturbing.

Look more closely. The whole concept of original sin is this.

I was wondering about that original sin issue, too.

It seems like he may be seeing Genesis as a allegory that indicates human nature rather than an actual event that damns all mankind forever. But, I don't see all the faiths based on the Bible as viewing it that way.

I'd suggest it is far better to see Genesis as an allegory. It seems like it has far richer meaning if that is how it is viewed.

"Wrongdoing" is just what it is....wrong! So it is always unethical. Based on your twisted logic then I suppose you believe doing something right or righteousness can be considered unethical...lol

I see why Koko always wins arguments he has with you, he makes logical truthful statements whereas you have a knack in spewing out illogical untruthful statements that to you in your illogical twisted mind is logical and truthful...lol

Now a lesson in the definition of "wrongdoing"... wrongdoing is defined as evil or improper behavior or action.

    Synonyms & Antonym for wrongdoing

Synonyms: breach, crime, lawbreaking, malefaction, misdeed, misdoing, offense (or offence), sin, transgression, trespass, violation

    Antonym: non-crime

Now a definition of the word "ethical"...ethical is defined as 1. involving or expressing moral approval or disapproval...ethical judgments. 2. conforming to accepted standards of conduct...ethical behavior

    Synonyms & Antonyms for ethical

Synonyms: all right, decent, good, honest, honorable, just, moral, nice, right, right-minded, righteous, straight, true, upright, virtuous

Antonyms: bad, dishonest, dishonorable, evil, evil-minded, immoral, indecent, sinful, unethical, unrighteous, wicked, wrong

So based on the definition I have presented above it's obvious that "wrongdoing" is unethical.

Disobedience to Our Creator Almighty God is a sin, a transgression against Him. He commands us for example, "You must not murder" and when any of us do it anyway, we have sinned against Him, we have transgressed against Him because one of His commandments to us is "You must not murder". So this is an example of "wrongdoing" and will always be unethical behavior/conduct/action. And of course it will always be evil/wicked to murder another human being.

    We Read in Scripture:

Ten Commandments for the Covenant Community

20 Then God gave the people all these instructions:
2 “I am the Lord your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt, the place of your slavery.
3 “You must not have any other god but me.
4 “You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea. 5 You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not tolerate your affection for any other gods. I lay the sins of the parents upon their children; the entire family is affected—even children in the third and fourth generations of those who reject me. 6 But I lavish unfailing love for a thousand generations on those who love me and obey my commands.
7 “You must not misuse the name of the Lord your God. The Lord will not let you go unpunished if you misuse his name.
8 “Remember to observe the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 You have six days each week for your ordinary work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath day of rest dedicated to the Lord your God. On that day no one in your household may do any work. This includes you, your sons and daughters, your male and female servants, your livestock, and any foreigners living among you. 11 For in six days the Lord made the heavens, the earth, the sea, and everything in them; but on the seventh day he rested. That is why the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and set it apart as holy.
12 “Honor your father and mother. Then you will live a long, full life in the land the Lord your God is giving you.
    13 “You must not murder.
14 “You must not commit adultery.
    15 “You must not steal.
16 “You must not testify falsely against your neighbor.
17 “You must not covet your neighbor’s house. You must not covet your neighbor’s wife, male or female servant, ox or donkey, or anything else that belongs to your neighbor.” Exodus 20:1-17 NLT

There are more commandments He has given us which can be found in the Book of Leviticus Chapter 18 Forbidden Sexual Practices.

Your revisionist history has it backwards.
Einstein went through a religious phase when he was a child. He wrote songs in praise of God and sang them while walking to and from school. That changed by age thirteen when he became interested in higher mathematics and philosophy and abandoned his uncritical religious fervor, feeling he had been deceived into believing lies.
He recounted such things from his childhood to Peter Bucky. So what?

Those who portray him as a theist are simply incorrect. He likened his form of religiosity to that of Spinoza, a pantheist who did not support the belief in a "personal" God.

He consistently and unambiguously denied believing in a "personal" god who answered prayers or involved himself in human affairs, exactly the sort of god common to theists claiming that he was one of them.

Of course "wrongdoing" is "unethical". What you don't seem to realize is that obedience is not the same as ethical.

See? You've already confused the two.

Except of course when he commands you to murder.

I've asked you this question before, and you've always dodged it. If God commanded you to kill your children, would you do it? Would you hate your neighbours and deny them basic freedoms, or burn them at the stake? Would you fly a plane into a skyscraper? Is there anything at all you would refuse to do if God commanded you to do it?

You are expressing your inability to understand the significance of Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ death on the cross.

First off this innocent volunteer as you put it wasn't just some ordinary Joe Smo dude...no!...no! He was Our Creator Almighty God's Son....a Divine Person!

Knowing mankind's incapability to maintain perfection by means of the law that was set up in the old covenant (Old Testament), Our Creator Almighty God’s compassion and great love for mankind allowed for a new covenant (New Testament). This would be an everlasting covenant to be established through the sending of His only begotten Son, Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ, who became the true Lamb of Our Creator Almighty God that took away the sins of the world and bring peace and restoration to a broken relationship between Him and His people once and for all.

This covenant is from everlasting to everlasting and has eternal significance to the soul of man. Our souls were destined for eternal punishment because of our inability to be righteous and tendency to given in to temptations.

We are made right with Our Creator Almighty God by placing our faith in Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who you are, no matter where you come from.

    We Read in Scripture:

23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. 24 Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. 25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, 26 for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he makes sinners right in his sight when they believe in Jesus. Romans 3:23-26 NLT

Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ said,

16 "For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 NLT

So what have we learned here? Well we've learned that Our Creator Almighty God displayed compassion and great love for mankind when He sent His only begotten Son Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ to take away the sins of the world and bring peace and restoration to a broken relationship between Him and His people once and for all....wow!...such great love indeed!

What else have we learned here? Well we've also learned that whoever doesn't believe in Our Creator Almighty God's Son their souls are destined for eternal punishment because their sins won't be washed away being that they reject and don't believe what Our Lord Savior Jesus Christ has done for them on the cross.

Haven't you ever received forgiveness before for doing something wrong? And haven't you ever given others forgiveness before for the wrongs they have done?

Forgiveness is to give someone a 2nd chance by not punishing them. The person giving this forgiveness is displaying his/her compassion and love for the one who has done wrong. So not being punished is just if the person you are accountable to forgives you and not punish you and you accept that person's compassion/forgiveness.

On the other hand if you reject that person's compassion/forgiveness then they have no choice but to punish you.

Ok.... So you escape the punishment you oh so much deserve because some innocent divine person suffered. And all you have to do is praise his suffering in your place. You don't have to take any personal responsibility or anything hard like that.

I think the religious see them, but ignore them for the security of the tribe/religion.

95 % of populations claim a belief, but only 5% are telling anything like the truth as that is the number that goes to church.

    Some live for likes.

I do not have that kind of time.

I prefer to be hated for being correct than loved and likes for kissing mental immoral asses.

Allegory for man's success, failure, or something else?

Do you see us having Original Virtue, the Jewish view, or Original Sin, the Christian view?

The coward father sent his son to die instead of doing the right thing and stepping up himself.

    Mitt.

Would you be as huge of a ****ing coward as the god you follow, or would you step up yourself to die?

Who should die first? Fathers or sons?

Would you make the same choice as the god you honor?

    Only if you are evil.

    Regards
    DL
