Rich ppl have access to money and resources we never will

Well, rights are a construct of man. Being born does not bestow upon a being the "right" to be alive......you just are. You have no rights other than to avoid being killed.

Communication is not a natural right....it is just...communication.

So breathing air, and using your eye's are all classified as "natural rights"? So what happens when a grizzly infringes upon a Salmons rights to live its life?

Well the latest Trump fiasco really proves my point. How many regular ppl would be able to not create any real wealth but be able to waste so many ppl time with that worthless bs? Maybe because he was born into wealth and resources so he can act a fool as much as he want's. It's really embarrasing when resources are squandered like this.

 

This is so untrue. And one of the reasons I made this thread. Things are not equal.

 

I used to highly dislike, well hate the ultra rich, but not the millionaires most of whom drive ford 150s and are small businessmen. I just didn’t like most of them. As I aged past 20, 30 and started making fair money in construction while going to school, I had my dreams of being rich too, so how could I hate me or the to be me? Finally it dawned on me that I did not hate the ultra rich or the only just rich (a few mil in the bank and making 700k a year). No I hated the goons who thought they were better than I am because of their money and sometimes thier blue blood breeding. Yep, I detested that, it was so untrue! I was better than they were as far as I could see! My wife pulled me around to country club parties when we were in AK, I had to wear a suit black tie ....couldnt say what I wanted to say...couldnt ride my harley to the event. Isn't this great honey! Her pretty face all aglow....No it was awfull.. those people were evil. My wife...er EX wife was never so happy as when she was rubbing elbows with those fakes...

And I really hated the evil ultra rich like Boesky and the wall street crooks that are still robbing us blind! I truly, truly think the world would be a better place if they disappeared now. And each time some new greedy parasite would raid a trust fund etc they too would get god whacked!

So that’s it, I will say one thing in closing. There are extraordinary beautiful, good rich and wealthy people too. I watched a program where the CEO of Direct TV went out undercover and worked manual labor with his unsuspecting employees to determine what it would take to repair his company etc. He praised his people and really loved them. I saw real tears in his eyes as he described them etc..So now I can’t even hate those CEO’s that get those nutty bonuses!

Ps I haven’t been rich yet. I went to work for God and he made me rich in other ways. Oh the most I ever made was around 80k in Alaska and that was a lot of 12 and 18 hour days 7 days a week construction work (ironworker).

 

Yes, they are equal. We are all equal at birth, and under the eyes of the law. But having money gives you PRIVILEGES above those who do not.

You aren't having your rights violated by you being denied the privileges that the rich exercise every day, you just resent that they have those privileges and you do not.

You don't want equality under the law, you equality in privilege and social status that rich people enjoy over you.

The problem with that is it that it pisses off those of us who realize there are privileges to being rich, or at least middle class, and work hard to achieve those privileges only being told we're not allowed to exercise our particular innate talents to achieve that privilege.

Money Privilege is not immoral, and if you think it is, then you are living in the wrong country because this nation was built on it.

 

One less person to compete with. You have declared yourself a loser.

 

Considering that the Aztecs had a place to live and people didn't fall off the edge, it really did matter to the realm of humans that the world was actually round, even if they didn't realize it at the time.

Rights are a description of something you naturally have.

So the right to freedom of speech isn't really a right?

Breathing air is a start, but if that is all you do, your life won't last long.

As for the bear infringing on the salmon's rights, rights are something you have unless they are given away or taken by someone else. You have the right to speak freely - unless someone shuts you up.

All rights can be taken away. Permanence isn't a factor of rights.

 

Ahh and that is one of the perils of secular humanism! I too beleive that some rights and laws are 'natural' are 'God given' ie natural. Others are postive which means man made. Natural and postive law theory. Most secular people consider themselves and the state or science to be the ultimate authority, including law and rights giver. Most spirtural folks like myself feel natural law is the only true and real law and everyone has them. No one, not the state the law can take them away.

You still have that right! Someone may force you to slience you however that is only enforcing what they preceive to be correct you moral right to free speech is still there. It does not take away the moral authority of the right of free speech.

Wrong, IMO When a human right (a natural right) is not recognized by the state (the state means the police the feds etc), when it is dishonored by a government it still exists. It hangs on to its moral authority even though it is not enforced or has been disobeyed. If these rights did not continue in existence even when your natural rights are being violated, then we would have no reason for condemning as unjust a government that did not to enforce them or that ignored them. Just saying~

Back in the day that was true....However, now days, alot of rich people inherited their money and did not work for it at all. They are born with better connections through their parents and can afford to go to better schools and wear better cloths. The odds of a person born into a poor family becoming rich is in the billions... The America Dream is and always has been a lie to keep the masses in check by making them believe they can become rich.

 

It's obvious if you even have to ask.

 

Actually, you don't have the drive and smarts of the people you're speaking of in this post, because they would do not possess - nor could they even imagine - thinking that they cannot succeed based upon their own resources.

Your own ingenuity and determination is the most valuable resource you could ever possess.

Exactly! This world is ruined by whiners who seem to think that simply because they are alive they automatically should have everything they ever wanted with little to no effort. Read 'Atlas Shrugged" ! All these people whos it down and cry and act like the world hasnt given them a chance are nothing but pests! Parasites! Leeching off those and actually gave a (*)(*)(*)(*) enough to pull themselves out of the gutter! I mean REALLY! Work hard and you will be rewarded! Sure there are some people who may have the connections to get started faster, or quicker than you but that sure as hell doesn't mean you dont have a chance. Like hummingbird said everyone has the potential to be great, it is just a matter of DOING something about it!
